Whether you've got a sweet or savoury tooth, we all know what it's like to really fancy a little (or large) bit of something. GBBO contestant Martha Collison's new book Crave is about just that - and we're asking you to share your cravings below for a chance to win.

We all know the feeling. What starts as an insignificant little niggle which grows into a demanding full-on craving. The kind that drags you out of bed in the middle of the night on a search for cheese, or causes you to break away from your desk in a desperate hunt for chocolate.

Crave is the second book from Sunday Times bestselling author and Great British Bake Off contestant, Martha Collison. Using inspired food science and delicious cuisine combinations, she provides go-to recipes incorporating eight flavours we so often find ourselves hankering for: chocolate, cheese, caramel, citrus, fruit, nut, spice – and alcohol!

These include ‘Instant’ recipes like lemon cheesecake pots, ‘Soon’ recipes that are ready to snaffle in under an hour, such as chilli chocolate churros, and you’ll also find ‘Worth the Wait’ recipes, which really are what they say on the tin... Creative, inspiring and imaginative, these are the recipes you just have to have.

For the first time since the introduction of the original Tilt-Head Stand Mixer in 1936, KitchenAid has launched a mini version of its iconic culinary workhorse. The KitchenAid MINI Stand Mixer, is 20% smaller and 25% lighter with a 3.3 litre bowl - perfect for smaller batch lifestyles!

To be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book plus a KitchenAid MINI stand mixer (worth £449) just tell us: what food or flavours do you crave most? Feel free to give examples of the ways you satisfy them e.g. what meals - even the more weird and wonderful ones!

Crave is out on 27 July - buy the book from Amazon for £16.99

*KitchenAid MINI stand mixer colour will be pink

JBH316 · 03/08/2017 22:51

Pizza! Ordinarily, I can eat my bodyweight in pizza but since developing gastritis, I can barely eat a thing. I need pizza!!

FurryDogMother · 03/08/2017 22:59

A proper British Indian curry, preferably a dhansak, or smoked cod with chilli pickle. I once developed a craving for tomato juice, and managed to drink an entire village dry of the stuff (small village, but there were 5 pubs and 2 general stores), after which I moved on to tinned tomatoes whizzed up in a blender. No, I wasn't pregnant, I just couldn't get enough of the stuff!

ClaireFraser · 03/08/2017 23:13

Cheese. Every time. I could eat cheese all day, everyday.

My biggest craving at the moment is hunks of creamy Brie smothered on crusty French bread. And I'm pregnant so there is absolutely nothing I can do about it 😢 26 weeks I have been craving it!!!

DH has been warned to have an entire French stick and whole wheel of Brie ready for me on the day I get home from hospital - I intend to eat the entire thing! Washed down with an ice cold cider, mmmmm! Only another 14ish weeks to go!

nobullshitallowed · 03/08/2017 23:33

My late night breastfeeding crave is always a star bar.

Any other time it's a tuna sandwich, on brown bread with a huge tonne of gherkins Blush

becks213 · 03/08/2017 23:37

Gherkins, Polo Mints and Wispa Chocolate (I did like Wispa's beforehand but it's turned into an obsession!) :)

pinkjjf27 · 04/08/2017 00:01

chocolate in any form in cake in biscuits or just plain chocolate

fizzytonicplease · 04/08/2017 08:06

Carrot cake, also iced buns filled with jam and fresh cream.

Garlic prawns with fresh crusty bread to dip in the sauce. I often crave a bacon and egg roll, with the egg so runny it drips down your hand, and you have to lick it up so you don't waste any.

changeMeName · 04/08/2017 08:10

Chocolate. Anything chocolate mixed with nuts or caramel. It is my weakness. Nothing better than relaxing at night with something deliciously chocolatey.

Or cake and custard 😍

Easy to see why I am 'cuddly' Grin

Earthmoon · 04/08/2017 08:18

Freshly baked bread

millililli · 04/08/2017 08:50

Cheese in any form, but toasted on home made seeded bread is always good!

StepAwayFromCake · 04/08/2017 09:01

Chocoholic + LCHF = doomed!

But no - I have found a way to get my fix Grin

3 tbsp Greek yogurt
1 tbsp crème fraîche
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp chopped hazelnuts or mixed seeds
1 tsp ground flax or chia
generous pinch sea salt flakes

Stir it all together well and eat it with a teaspoon.

Obviously it's not sweet. But the intense flavour and creamy-crunchy texture is sooooo satisfying. (That's why you have to eat it with a teaspoon - to really appreciate it and make it last longer.)

TellMeItsNotTrue · 04/08/2017 11:33

Chilli, but it has to made by me, unfortunately I don't have time to make it as often as I would like and it's only that chilli that will do

There is one item I crave too - a kitchen aid!! I didn't know they had brought out a mini, something else to drool over Grin

beckyinman · 04/08/2017 11:50

Anything pastry based - sausage rolls, pies (sweet and savoury) cheese straws, Danish pastries

melski1989 · 04/08/2017 11:52

Gooey meringues!

PinkPrittStick · 04/08/2017 12:10

Cherries! Has to be cold fresh cherries. Or strawberries with a drizzle of lemon.

ponygirlcurtis · 04/08/2017 12:18

Sometimes sweet - even a little Celebrations or handful of Smarties will do, sometimes savoury - cheeeeeeese mmmm. Or peanut butter.

Keels77 · 04/08/2017 12:30

My longest standing craving is homemade treacle pudding. Made by my mum. I really should learn to make it myself. 🤦🏼‍♀️ In fact, mum hasn't made it for me in so long I'll have to have a word with her. Lol. Otherwise I will have to buy a ready made one just to satisfy my craving. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I usually crave sweet things and have been known to make microwave mug cakes out of the most random ingredients in the cupboard. I made one with ground almonds and almond butter once!

If it's a savoury craving, it's usually for cheese and nothing beats a gooey baked camembert with cucumber to scoop it up.

ilovetocook · 04/08/2017 12:36

Pizza with goats cheese, spinach and red onion. Can't have anymore due to multiple allergies :(

clairewilko29 · 04/08/2017 12:43

anything sweet

Janussi · 04/08/2017 12:43

Curry for me. Just love the sauce on rice.

Emhus1 · 04/08/2017 13:00

Cake.. love eating and making them.
Jaffa cakes are my ultimate weakness though, can't get enough of them

mustangsarah · 04/08/2017 13:11

Sushi! I'm always craving sushi. After moving to the countryside of the UK from Southern California, it's something I can't get often anymore, so I always want it!!
