Whether you've got a sweet or savoury tooth, we all know what it's like to really fancy a little (or large) bit of something. GBBO contestant Martha Collison's new book Crave is about just that - and we're asking you to share your cravings below for a chance to win.

We all know the feeling. What starts as an insignificant little niggle which grows into a demanding full-on craving. The kind that drags you out of bed in the middle of the night on a search for cheese, or causes you to break away from your desk in a desperate hunt for chocolate.

Crave is the second book from Sunday Times bestselling author and Great British Bake Off contestant, Martha Collison. Using inspired food science and delicious cuisine combinations, she provides go-to recipes incorporating eight flavours we so often find ourselves hankering for: chocolate, cheese, caramel, citrus, fruit, nut, spice – and alcohol!

These include ‘Instant’ recipes like lemon cheesecake pots, ‘Soon’ recipes that are ready to snaffle in under an hour, such as chilli chocolate churros, and you’ll also find ‘Worth the Wait’ recipes, which really are what they say on the tin... Creative, inspiring and imaginative, these are the recipes you just have to have.

For the first time since the introduction of the original Tilt-Head Stand Mixer in 1936, KitchenAid has launched a mini version of its iconic culinary workhorse. The KitchenAid MINI Stand Mixer, is 20% smaller and 25% lighter with a 3.3 litre bowl - perfect for smaller batch lifestyles!

To be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book plus a KitchenAid MINI stand mixer (worth £449) just tell us: what food or flavours do you crave most? Feel free to give examples of the ways you satisfy them e.g. what meals - even the more weird and wonderful ones!

Crave is out on 27 July - buy the book from Amazon for £16.99

*KitchenAid MINI stand mixer colour will be pink

Salted popcorn with a glass of full fat coke!

cherry49 · 21/08/2017 17:47

Cheese - I love it, Can't think of any type of cheese I don't like.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2017 17:50

Bread - proper doorstop slices of lovely bread. Please and thank you.

Lumaylo · 21/08/2017 19:50

So many different things I crave from time to time! But I'd have to say, it's my Mums Christmas Pudding! It's a family recipe passed down and I only ever have at Christmas time so I don't get to satisfy that craving throughout the year! It definitely contours up childhood Christmas memories of my Nan. I know not everyone likes it, but I love it

When I was pregnant with DD1 I craved citrus, especially anything that had an orange or lemon glaze but with DD2 my cravings changed to savoury and I couldn't get enough scones, breads and salty focaccias.
Now that I'm not preggo, I crave pie. Lots and lots of pie. Strawberry cherry at the moment.

Bread, Chocolate and Peanut Butter

GruffaloPants · 23/08/2017 03:16

Salt and sweet together - smoked cheese on a dried fruit oatcake is perfect, or pastrami on cake (not just when pregnant, honest!).

MarcoPolo7 · 23/08/2017 10:30

Lemon drizzle cake!

I could eat it by the bucketful, but try to limit myself (alas, this is not always successful!)

WoodyandLol · 24/08/2017 09:43

My favourite and strongest craving, is for warm homemade apple pie and vanilla ice cream. I only get this craving when the nights start to draw in...... YUM (the nights after drawing in now aren't they???!)

rceebear · 24/08/2017 11:57

Used to be cheese but I ditched dairy this year. So now it is Marmite on toast but chocolate at that time of the month!

doggyg · 24/08/2017 13:17

Chocolate and tiramisu!

saltedcaramelhotchoc · 24/08/2017 13:38

For me, it is Mcvities chocolate hobnobs (taste of childhood!), ham and cheese toasties and Nutella cheesecake.
And Ribena (for the times when red wine seems a bit decadent, e.g. 11 am)...

Shadow01 · 24/08/2017 20:03

Doorstep slices of seeded granary bread with real salted butter

starlight36 · 24/08/2017 20:08

Creamy risotto - any flavour - with lots of Parmesan shavings. Perfect comfort food.

Not much else beats a good chocolate mousse.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 24/08/2017 20:10

Thick sliced white bread (not pre sliced) with melting salted butter. But not so melted that its all disappeared.

And on that note I'm off to the kitchen...

Cheese & crisps

Faithless12 · 24/08/2017 20:14

Anything with Szechuan peppercorns in for a savoury and for sweet cherry pie.

DS favourite savoury is sweet potato jackets with tuna and sweet corn and beans. His sweet craving is freshly baked cookies, they never fully cool with him around.

RippleEffects · 24/08/2017 20:17

Salted caramel swiss meringue buttercream spread over and between layers on a moist chocolate sponge, finished with multicoloured chocolate shards and small square chunks of salted caramel.

I love the metal kitchen aid bowl with its handle perfect for gently heating the sugar/egg white mix to kill off any bugs before whisking it into a light fluffy buttery merringue.

hutchy73 · 24/08/2017 21:31

Cake - Victoria sponge, batten burt, cherry cake , muffins - love them all !🎂🍰🍩

MyLastUsernameWasRubbish · 24/08/2017 22:49

Ah...am super hungry now! I usually crave bread...chocolate....honeycomb...tuna...and cinnamon buns. Not all at the same time though!

flolockwood · 25/08/2017 08:11

Bagels with a thick layer of butter and jam Grin

impostersyndrome · 25/08/2017 12:41

Two things, I suppose: chocolate with pistachios - I've been eating salted pistachios with milky chocolate since I was a child. I cannot get over the fact that you can now actually buy this ready-made in a package; and toasted bread with salted butter with a thick slathering of crunchy peanut butter on top (and a nice cold glass of milk on the side).

sassolino · 25/08/2017 15:41

Any food that my Mum makes; her pirozhki with mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms are divine. We live thousands of miles apart, and only see each other once a year. Whenever she comes, she cook for me my childhood favourites.

sassolino · 25/08/2017 15:41

cookS, not cook
