Whether you've got a sweet or savoury tooth, we all know what it's like to really fancy a little (or large) bit of something. GBBO contestant Martha Collison's new book Crave is about just that - and we're asking you to share your cravings below for a chance to win.

We all know the feeling. What starts as an insignificant little niggle which grows into a demanding full-on craving. The kind that drags you out of bed in the middle of the night on a search for cheese, or causes you to break away from your desk in a desperate hunt for chocolate.

Crave is the second book from Sunday Times bestselling author and Great British Bake Off contestant, Martha Collison. Using inspired food science and delicious cuisine combinations, she provides go-to recipes incorporating eight flavours we so often find ourselves hankering for: chocolate, cheese, caramel, citrus, fruit, nut, spice – and alcohol!

These include ‘Instant’ recipes like lemon cheesecake pots, ‘Soon’ recipes that are ready to snaffle in under an hour, such as chilli chocolate churros, and you’ll also find ‘Worth the Wait’ recipes, which really are what they say on the tin... Creative, inspiring and imaginative, these are the recipes you just have to have.

For the first time since the introduction of the original Tilt-Head Stand Mixer in 1936, KitchenAid has launched a mini version of its iconic culinary workhorse. The KitchenAid MINI Stand Mixer, is 20% smaller and 25% lighter with a 3.3 litre bowl - perfect for smaller batch lifestyles!

To be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book plus a KitchenAid MINI stand mixer (worth £449) just tell us: what food or flavours do you crave most? Feel free to give examples of the ways you satisfy them e.g. what meals - even the more weird and wonderful ones!

Crave is out on 27 July - buy the book from Amazon for £16.99

*KitchenAid MINI stand mixer colour will be pink

I love spicy food. I also love food that is full of flavour. I am not afraid to try anything new.

Calphurnia · 04/08/2017 23:58

Doorstop sourdough bread, toasted, with salted butter spread so thick there are teeth marks with every bite

Or supernoodles with grated cheese

Mummy2aRockstar · 05/08/2017 00:00

For me is depends on the weather, if it's cold I crave comfort food like chocolate but if it's hot I crave peas Grin I have no idea why I've just always been a pea fanatic.

persianpeach · 05/08/2017 00:26

For me it's cheese and biscuits or fresh crusty bread and butter! Delicious

down2earthwithabump · 05/08/2017 01:07

Strangely my most common craving is tortellini (spinach and ricotta filled) with a cream and ham sauce. It is so quick to make and so comforting, but not short on calories or fat! Hmm often craved when overtired or after a holiday where none has been accessible.

I have a sweet tooth and crave sweets, biscuits and cakes the most - just the smell of cinnamon doughnuts makes me hungry. I also love salad and all sorts of fruits, especially cherries and berries. In the winter I crave roast dinners and hot stews with herby dumplings and some nice fresh crusty bread to dip in it.

juliecorrigan · 05/08/2017 02:00

It's soup I crave, but nothing so simple as out of a tin or carton I lie in bed past midnight, fantasising about carrot, coriander and lentil soup knocked up from scratch. And if I have decent oranges. I add in some zest and the juice. Oh no. Now I'm craving. How much coriander is left on that plant?

mowgeli · 05/08/2017 02:20

I'm obsessed with Jamon Iberica or sweet Jamon Salamanca, served on a snack tray. It's great to combine it with some olive oil bread sticks and a tiny chunk of a lovely cheese. That's probably my favorite.

Also Korean Fried Chicken made with Chicken Thighs not the breast as they are so much more tender.

Oh god I'm hungry now

jacknutter · 05/08/2017 06:18

Cheese, always cheese with my favourite being Applewood Smoked Cheddar

PullUpsAreTricky · 05/08/2017 07:16

Salt and vinegar crisps mccoys are probably my fave

wooohooo · 05/08/2017 07:49

Any thing lemon flavoured

DaveGrohlsMrs · 05/08/2017 07:50

I have always craved sweet and salty combinations, even before it became "a thing". It started with salt and vinegar crisps and a chocolate biscuit - which I still can't get enough of! But now I'm obsessed with salted caramel cakes etc. Sooooo good. Damn, now I'm craving it and it's not even 8am! That's an acceptable breakfast, right?

White chocolate....

Bluefitz12 · 05/08/2017 08:01

I crave cheese! I try not to eat it due to the calorie content but it's the scrummiest food on the planet - yes I crave it more than chocolate! I love to make cheese scones but my favourite ways to eat it is either sliced with crackers and pickled onions but the best way is cheese on toast grilled on fresh crusty white bread - indulgent!

smallchair · 05/08/2017 08:08

Crusty fresh bread, still a little warm, with real butter. I dream about it!

JulesJules · 05/08/2017 08:22

Tomatoes on toast. Thick slices of toast made with homemade bread, lots of butter and lots of fried tomatoes, salt and pepper.

Or toast and Marmite

Or cheese. Any cheese.

MakeTeaNotWar · 05/08/2017 08:42

Salty savoury foods - crisps, popcorn,
peanuts, cheesy snacks

1969angep · 05/08/2017 08:54

I am a total sweet tooth, mostly for biscuits. My favourite indulgence is Rich Tea biscuits sandwiched together with lashings of butter. I like to squeeze them together until the butter comes out through the tiny holes in the biscuit 😂

booshbaby73 · 05/08/2017 09:44

I crave cake, never used to have a sweet tooth until pregnant with my little girl!!

chickens4cats3 · 05/08/2017 09:46

I crave chocolate most of the time I'm awake and sometimes I dream about it too!

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 05/08/2017 09:51

I am on a mission to recreate my Auntie Peggy's homemade blackberry jam and homemade brown soda bread. It all has to be washed down with copious pots of strong tea.
Bread and jam is the most comforting snack ever.

Camelle · 05/08/2017 10:03

Well, I know it's a bit sad, but apart from the usual sugary and salty stuff I actually start to crave fruit + veg + green things if I haven't had them for a while. Yeah, sometimes I dream about them too Hmm

CeCeDrake · 05/08/2017 10:13

Everything. Just everything.

suestod · 05/08/2017 10:32

Mine is totally odd.. and it's something I have grown up with lol!! It's a ham and tomato sauce sandwich! hehe I haven't came across anyone else who is fond of it.. but I crave it all the time! x x

MTBMummy · 05/08/2017 11:06

I've got a real thing for savoury food, preferably cheese scones, made with a little mustard powder and paprika, eaten fresh out the oven with a wedge of salted butter....

Right, now I've got to make some... Curse you Mumsnet
