Whether you've got a sweet or savoury tooth, we all know what it's like to really fancy a little (or large) bit of something. GBBO contestant Martha Collison's new book Crave is about just that - and we're asking you to share your cravings below for a chance to win.

We all know the feeling. What starts as an insignificant little niggle which grows into a demanding full-on craving. The kind that drags you out of bed in the middle of the night on a search for cheese, or causes you to break away from your desk in a desperate hunt for chocolate.

Crave is the second book from Sunday Times bestselling author and Great British Bake Off contestant, Martha Collison. Using inspired food science and delicious cuisine combinations, she provides go-to recipes incorporating eight flavours we so often find ourselves hankering for: chocolate, cheese, caramel, citrus, fruit, nut, spice – and alcohol!

These include ‘Instant’ recipes like lemon cheesecake pots, ‘Soon’ recipes that are ready to snaffle in under an hour, such as chilli chocolate churros, and you’ll also find ‘Worth the Wait’ recipes, which really are what they say on the tin... Creative, inspiring and imaginative, these are the recipes you just have to have.

For the first time since the introduction of the original Tilt-Head Stand Mixer in 1936, KitchenAid has launched a mini version of its iconic culinary workhorse. The KitchenAid MINI Stand Mixer, is 20% smaller and 25% lighter with a 3.3 litre bowl - perfect for smaller batch lifestyles!

To be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book plus a KitchenAid MINI stand mixer (worth £449) just tell us: what food or flavours do you crave most? Feel free to give examples of the ways you satisfy them e.g. what meals - even the more weird and wonderful ones!

Crave is out on 27 July - buy the book from Amazon for £16.99

*KitchenAid MINI stand mixer colour will be pink

Millionaires shortbread is my downfall.

georgedawes · 04/08/2017 20:11

Cheese. I could eat cheese all day long and pretty much the only cake I like is..cheesecake!

nancytownsend · 04/08/2017 20:14

My cravings are always for chocolate or ice cream. I try to moderate the amounts I eat but do tend to binge if I'm not careful.

Bread! Hot/warm oven baked (preferably artisan breads with nuts and fruits):)

kittykomp · 04/08/2017 20:34

loads of chocolate

winkygirl · 04/08/2017 20:36

Celery sandwich - chopped up celery on multigrain bread spread with butter. The crunchiness of crisps with the knowledge it is healthier...
Grin

Oooh this sounds like my kind of cook book Cake
My craving would have to definetely be chocolate covered pretzels Grin the combo of sweet smooth chocolate and crunchy salty pretzels gets me every time.... Oh me, I think I'm going to have to run along to the shops to get some right now Halo

Cake mix is my weakness. The stuff you lick from the spoon and bowl after making a cake. It got so bad during pregnancy when I knew I wasn't allowed raw egg I even worked out a 'fake mix' that's satisfied the craving! Sometimes I still make a small bowl when I'm really in need.

modernmillie1 · 04/08/2017 21:05

chocolate fudge cake!

PooPooOfferson · 04/08/2017 21:19

Mmmmarmite on Mmmmmmmatzos. Also the powder from the Indo Mie noodle sachets.

Steedee · 04/08/2017 21:37

I am in Italy at the moment and have celiac disease, the bread here smells better and looks better than anything from the UK. What I woul give for a bite of that lovely bread with the local farm produced butter. Seeking a cure....Steedee

For me I often really crave a savoury crunch of a texture - like half-popped popcorn! I love cheesy flavours and herby savoury flavours.

I've been googling how to make my own half-popped corn and I've figured out that nutritional yeast gives it a really cheesy taste.

Also love cheesy kale chips - but what a faff to cook myself and not readily available in stores so i dread getting that craving.

Once I craved a lemon polenta cake so much - i baked it at midnight then ate most of it in one go!

jenid123 · 04/08/2017 21:42

Chocolate. Any type, most frequently not the dark chocolate that is supposed to be good for me!

cookiefiend · 04/08/2017 21:46

Really good brownies. A thin layer of crunch surrounding gooey goodness. You hardly ever buy a brownie that is good like this- they are usually so disappointing. But when I make them I eat far too much of them (and I can see how much butter is in them) so I rarely do.

I totally want some now...

bluebump · 04/08/2017 21:50

Crisps. In particular salt and vinegar crisps. My DS and I have sampled loads and we think Morrisons own brand ones are the best. Speaking of which I haven't had my daily fix so may have to go and have a bag...

theresamustgo · 04/08/2017 21:57

Weirdest craving is for curella, a really bitter vegetable. Also sometimes crave condensed and evaporated milk.

kateandme · 04/08/2017 22:15

oh it can really depend.savoury and sweet both different times and one cannot be substituted for the other!something comforting like a pie.lots of times pasta fills all needs on savoury front or something with cheese or that roasted garlicky oniony yum.
for sweet.icing!deff weakness for all things icing,or fillings in cakes.or a good crumble with larger topping ratio hehe.
a cake where the icing is thick.too thick to be good for you:)

TheHobbitMum · 04/08/2017 22:23

Homemade sweet chilli pizza with homemade vanilla/new York cheese cake for dessert, yum!

truckingirl · 04/08/2017 22:27

Crepes suzette oozing with a rich buttery orange sauce and topped with homemade vanilla icecream 🙄

Lewsam74 · 04/08/2017 22:36

Definitely scones, jam and clotted cream! Yum! Xx

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/08/2017 22:39

Sugar!!
I know I know, not good!
Though a little fix is all I need, ie 1 biscuit or a couple of Haribo.
I generally eat quite well - honest!

MothershipG · 04/08/2017 23:05

Toast!

I've been low carbing for over a year and managed to lose loads of weight but I crave toast, preferably my homemade sourdough with homemade jam. I miss it so much.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 04/08/2017 23:09

Marmitey cheese on toast. Has to be white bread, no butter, cheese has to cover the whole slice and get really hot and bubbly before the marmite goes on and there must be lashings of marmite. It cures hangovers (honest!) and fixes broken hearts especially when served with a mug of tea.

smithsurvey14 · 04/08/2017 23:17

Just lately it is ginger. Ginger yoghurt, ginger preserve on toast, salted caramel and ginger granola or dark chocolate coated crystallized ginger as long as I can taste the ginger it will do.

Itsfreetobekind · 04/08/2017 23:43

Cake. Butter and chocolate cake just like mom makes. Something that brings backs years of childhood memories in that first whiff of homemade cake. Ahh..
