I'm reading A slow passion-snails, my garden and me. It's non fiction, written by Ruth Brooks and describes her involvement in a citizen science project. I'm really enjoying it.Despite my massive 'to read' pile I'm wondering what others are reading at the moment!

I'm trying finish reading The Girl Before by the end of the day! library deadline

Jamon · 12/07/2017 09:15

I wept openly on the bus reading A Little Life

Currently reading Murakami's Kafka On The Shore. Finding it a bit slow but I think that might be me rather than the book.

I've just picked up Days Without End by Sebastian Barry. Got some cracking reviews

Amy and Isabelle by Elizabeth Strout (99p on Kindle atm). Thought it might be a bit ponderous but enjoying it.

Adding The Power to my list after reading this thread! Plus Naomi Alderman kicks ass it's about time I read her

alltouchedout · 12/07/2017 09:37

Anyone else feel the second half of The Power was just not as good as the first? I was so disappointed :(

Just started reading The Mother by Yvvette Edwards. I read her first novel A Cupboard Full of Coats a few years ago and really enjoyed it. She's a good writer.

I've just finished The Dark circle by Linda grant- love all her books this wasn't as good as We had it so good but I still enjoyed it and a very unusual subject (TB hospital in the 1940s)
I thought The Girls by Emma cline was excellent and all the light we cannot see
Fried green tomatoes is a brilliant summer read and quite different to the film
