I'm at the end of a run of brilliant books and looking for something else gripping enough to make me put down my phone, turn off Netflix and go to bed to read.

I don't want anything sad or sci fi or too trashy but would appreciate any really good suggestions!

Thank you!

MissCalamity - she's got both. Not so much a fan of the series to be honest but they are ok. Her best ones are the stand alone ones, Watching Over You was my fav

Buzz I enjoyed Big Little Lies once I got into it. Good twist and I particularly like reading one of the characters stories but I was slightly dull in places.

Second the swimming pool

Reading The Sixth Windows by Rachel Abbott all of hers are good.

Also Holy Island LJ Ross.

Just finished one which I found proper creepy The Girl Before..a bit different very good.

I enjoyed The Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll. I quite liked Big Little Lies-- I only realised after I'd read it that it was the same author as The Husband's Secret, the last few pages of which made me want to throw it on the floor and jump up and down on it!

Hey thisone I couldn't agree more re: The Husband's Secret!

Very annoying indeed.

I read Khaled Hosseini's books, 'the kite runner' and 'a thousand splendid suns'. These are really great books, I just continued to read them for day till i finished. Really sad stories though, which maybe why i am reluctant to read his new book.

Also, really sorry this is unrelated to this thread, but I am currently in the middle of my dissertation, for my masters course in marketing. I would like to ask if anyone could complete my questionnaire please. I am trying to find out which age groups of consumers respond to which type of promotions the most in supermarkets. You can of course skip some questions if you want, and the questionnaire should take around 5 minutes. I will be very grateful if you take part. Thank you.
