As I recall I merely sent an email to [email protected] with "what next?" in the subject line. I got a reply back instantaneously. It seems as though it must be something to do with your firewall or over-enthusiastic spam-filter then.

well done custardo. With a bit of help from dh who is much more logical than me, we've got quite a long way, but now need to see the book which we don't have 'cos we borrowed it from the library when we read it. So we're at a bit of a stalemate!

I am reading this at the moment and to be honest I feel it is hugely overrated. it seems entirely plot driven with one dimensional, boring characters. The actual mystery of the paintings, Holy Grail etc is interesting but it's all couched in such cliched terms and silly multiple 'cliffhangers' - to me this is pulp fiction and frankly I am amazed it's gained the reputation it has. I don't know if i can endure the second half!

IloveMarmite · 17/01/2005 19:24

Donnie, I am just so pleased to hear someone else say this.

The story is an excellent one, but should have been 10 times better written. I think it was written purely to be bought by a big film studio. DAn Brown has taken a well known storyline and padded it with one dimensional people. I think this book should have been MUCH MUCH better.

Did you also think that some of the clues were weak?

overall, I would say that I was disappointed, but was kept moving through the book by the plot line, and the vain hope that something really fab. would be revealed (which of course is always a silly thing to hold onto!).

donnie · 25/01/2005 14:18

well, I just finished reading this yesterday and felt that by the end it was verging on farce....long lost brothers, hidden identities, abysmal stereotyping ,blah blah blah, like an episode of Dynasty.I cannot understand why so many people rate it! needless to say I won;t be looking out for his books again....!

monkey · 25/01/2005 19:27

pleased to hear another voice of reason, donnie
