Anyone part of this - reading any of the titles featured on the programme/website?

I've been really surprised at how many books i've read that have appeared on their lost. I assumed they would all be naff books but some of them have been quite good.

I really enjoyed The Island which was one of theirs last year and everyone else I have spoken to about it has too.

McDreamy · 09/02/2007 15:47

I prefer an easy read as long as it grips me.

Fancy Stuart Maconie's Pies and Prejudice - they talked about that on R&J though not in thebook club

southeastastra · 09/02/2007 16:04

Must admit I was embarassed at first to be reading any R&J books (and don't we all take the stickers off?), and some do look crap, but must say I really enjoyed 'Star of the Sea' and am so far engrossed in 'The American Boy' (yes I am very behind!). Did not like 'Labryinth' at all but have bought The Boyd one because I think he's great anyway and 'The Interpretation of Murder'. I'll take me ages to get round to them though - my pile of books to read is way too big for such a slow reader ....

suedonim · 09/02/2007 20:10

My copy of Time Travellers Wife had a R&J sticker on it. When I tried to get it off I discovered the sticker was actually embossed onto the cover!

hana · 09/02/2007 20:12

they have ripped off Oprah's book club
she did it first and they think they are trailblazing!!!!

nikkie · 09/02/2007 20:42

I quite fancy 'The Girls' saw a bit of r&j yesterday when they were reviewing it.

janeite · 10/02/2007 13:08

Well I really enjoyed "The Time Traveller's Wife" and "The American Boy". Think I liked a few others too but can't remember offhand. "The Girls" looks interesting; also "The Interpretation Of Murder".

noddyholder · 10/02/2007 13:12

I am reading the girls atm by pure coincidence although I wouldn't be put off by a r&j sticker
