Set aside the Gina, silence the baby-whisperers and shelve the Jo Frost manuals. This is the book to make new mothers feel better about themselves.

No tips, no advice, no routines, no philosophies - just an honest account of two writers' adventures in the twenty-first century Motherland.

Alex and Sarah are two mothers and lifelong friends, whose hilarious book is the perfect antidote to all the smug, scolding, impossible-to-achieve tomes of advice that are passed around baby yoga classes up and down the country.

Having always been a stay up late and lie in late kinda girl I NEVER thought I'd regularly be in bed by 9 and up with the lark!!

Mrscog · 29/02/2016 16:40

Never thought i'd wee in to a nappy but was desperate in the swimming pool cubicle dripping wet with an equally wet and slippy 12 week old baby (and a 12 week post partum pelvic floor to match!

throwingpebbles · 29/02/2016 20:11

Haha mrscog I have done similar Blush

scrivette · 29/02/2016 21:52

Never thought I would be so interested in the undigested food that comes out in a nappy!

Mrscog · 01/03/2016 10:25

YY throwingpebbles I actually don't know what else you're meant to do! You can't leave a baby unattended and I couldn't hold on for a minute longer!!

I never thought I would become a football and rugby mum. I was useless at games and thought my children would follow in my ponderous footsteps. I had only ever been to one football and one rugby match in my life before children, to humour a brother and future husband respectively. But I have spent the last 18 years watching admiringly while my children (both DSs and DD) have demonstrated an ability at these sports I would never have thought possible.

I never thought I'd have so much respect for other mummies

Booklover123 · 09/03/2016 19:21

Bit soppy I know, but I never thought that my dc could bring me such joy and contentment but also such worry!

Shaler · 10/03/2016 11:20

I never thought I'd catch sick in my hands!
