Defy Blue Monday by sharing the secrets to your happiness for a chance to win a copy of Lucy Diamond's new novel The Secrets of Happiness plus a fabulous Sheer Bliss Pamper Hamper

What is the secret of happiness? Family? Love? Endless chocolate? Stepsisters Rachel and Becca certainly aren’t experts. They've never been close and seem to live perfectly opposite lives - Rachel has the house, husband and kids, while Becca lurches from one dead-end job and bad date to another. But when Rachel doesn't come home one night, Becca realises that her life isn't as perfect as she'd thought, and when the two stepsisters are thrown together, they discover that happiness, like love, can hide in the least likely of places.

Lucy Diamond is the bestselling author of Summer at Shell Cottage. You can find her on Twitter and Facebook.

This discussion is sponsored by Pan Macmillan and will end on 15 February. We will post the winner on the thread on that date.

Let the kids bake and don't worry about the mess! Life's too short to worry if the rubbish hasn't been put out.Take time out for yourself, catch up with a friend and don't feel guilty spending a ridiculous amount on a coffee.Get a facial or hair cut and smile!

Happiness is all my boys fast asleep in bed and me in the bath with a good book

Sarah250187 · 03/02/2016 23:25

A hot bath with candles..... And of course wouldn't be true happiness without my 3 year old coming in and asking if he can play dinosaurs in my bath!!

Not wanting too much out of life and enjoying what you have already got. Especially if you have good health.

Keeping in touch with nature - getting out into the natural world as often as you can, to look, listen, breathe and slow down.

My secrets to happiness are to let go of the things you can't control and enjoy the simply things in life.

Happiness is snuggling with this little creature, after a walk by the river, on a crisp winter day.

A tough one to answer. So many small things contribute to my happiness like this morning when I found a houseplant I had pruned a month ago responding and flowering again. However the greatest contributor to my personal happiness is my hubby. Together we make a great team. No matter what needs doing whether its stacking the dishwasher, hanging out the washing or juggling work / life balance we just get on with it. We do not have his and her jobs. Our family is the most important thing in our lives and ours is simply the best and brings much joy and happiness into our lives :)

Getting caught up in the simpleness of life. Laughing uncontrollably at a joke, getting lost in a good book, playing a game... forgetting everything and just enjoying the moment!

making 'me time' even if it's half an hour to soak in the bath
