Hi

Thank you for the book, it was a good light read. Read it quickly as can't seem to sleep during this pregnancy. Have I got pregnancy fog or is it not on the list of books for review yet? I would like to review it whilst i still remember and before zombie mummy arrives again. thanks x

Reubymum · 06/03/2015 13:51

Have done it, definitely pregnancy brain. Thank you again, loved reading and reviewing

Good book. I've posted a review.

Thanks for the copy. I've read a couple by Katie Fforde in the past and this was in a very similar vein to the others - very light reading, standard chick-lit. However, unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as I did the others - mostly because I just didn't like the character of Bella. The whole premise of why she'd moved seemed a little extreme to me, and her relationship with her boss was just irritating - surely nobody would put up with that?

I wanted to like this book and would probably read more by the same author in future, but in the hope that this was a one-off and she returns to form with a future book. Just felt too formulaic - I read a lot of chick-lit and you can stick to the formula while producing more in-depth characters.

Im aso in agreement with Slev about the character Bella.

I've just finished the book and did enjoy it, but am in agreement with Siev regarding why Bella upped and left. If maybe as a reader there was more written as to what made Bella feel the way she did about Dominic (maybe a chapter going back into her past & the readers getting a feeling/insight of what she felt back thenConfused). Loved Bella's Godmother character (Alice). Neville's character did start to irritate me. Maybe that is what Katie Fforde wanted. It's easy light reading. It wasn't quite a book that I didn't want to put down. None the less I enjoyed it. Thanks though.

Really enjoyed this book and whizzed through it. I thought that the main female characters were all believable and interesting. Would pass on or recommend this to anyone looking for a light hearted read. Thanks for my copy.

I read the book in 2 sittings & as a light easy read I like Katie FForde's formula for chick lit & I enjoyed it.

Bella was mildly annoying on one hand she could redesign a house interior in one phone call but leaving the pain in the bum boyfriend was beyond her ability.

The boyfriend / boss should have had a bit more come-uppance rather than a slapped wrist.

I enjoyed the side story of the love between Alice and Michael more than Bella's. Actually I liked all the side stories better than Bella's romance.

A light, pleasant read. Not a genre I generally read but made a nice interlude. The story was fairly obvious once you got into it but not an oversweet sentimental flop. I enjoyed the read. Well worth taking on your holidays as light entertainment. It's not challenging but not dull.
