1 month to go and I already know that this will be the best book I read this year. I absolutely loved it. It's £2.99 for the Kindle version and you'll want to read it again as soon as you finish.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August

Mine is The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell

The goldfinch (Donna tart)

Or

The paying guests. (Sarah waters)

HindsightisaMarvellousThing · 01/12/2014 20:29

I came on this thread to say I'd need two books - The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and also Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. I've been rereading them both alternately for ages.

The Girl who Saved The King of Sweden

An excellent follow up book to The 100 year old man.

ASmidgeofMidge · 01/12/2014 20:39

Another vote for The Paying Guests

weebarra · 01/12/2014 20:39

The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton

Celticlass2 · 01/12/2014 20:40

The Seige by Helen Dunmore. Anna Funder All that I am. lots of fantastic books downloaded on my kindle. Love this time of year for reading.

Celticlass2 · 01/12/2014 20:41

Almost forgot. I re-read A suitable Boy. Even better the second time around.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/12/2014 20:43

I've enjoyed a few, but Fanny and Stella would be high up the list, as would Bitch in a Bonnet and Coronation Everest. I'd need to check back on the 50 book challenge threads to remember more.

Stuffofawesome · 01/12/2014 20:44

Second Goldfinch. Also The Circle by Dave Eggers

KiaOraOAotearoa · 01/12/2014 20:46

The Goldfinch :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/12/2014 20:46

Must remember to read, 'The Circle.'

RustyBear · 01/12/2014 20:46

Augustus by John Williams

GlaceCherries · 01/12/2014 20:50

Oooh I was thinking of "Harry August" as my choice too! Closely followed by David Mitchell's "The Bone Clocks".

I really did not like Life After Life, what a waste of my time Angry

Ashwagandha · 01/12/2014 20:51

Love love loved What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty.

DevonFolk · 01/12/2014 20:51

State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. Beautiful genius.

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 01/12/2014 20:54

Life After Life. Probably not the best in literary terms but it stayed in my head for weeks after.

dollybird · 01/12/2014 20:57

The Time Travellers Wife for me. I am just about to start The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty so hope that's good too!

starlightloz · 01/12/2014 21:19

Any Seaside Town by John Peaseland

The Goldfinch is a masterpiece of writing and my book of the year.

magimedi · 01/12/2014 22:20

SkaterGrrrrl · 01/12/2014 22:22

We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves

minsmum · 01/12/2014 22:24

The Goldfinch would be my choice as well

AgentProvocateur · 01/12/2014 22:27

Another vote for The Goldfinch.

(celticlass2 - I loved The Siege. Have you read the sequel - The Betrayal? Also, planning to read A Suitable Boy on holiday in March)
