Sort Of books are publishing a Winter Book which contains 15 - or was it 13? - of the stories from Sculptor's Daughter plus 5 previously unpublished stories. It will be available in early November. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(And Yah Boo Sucks to the person trying to sell Sculptor's Daughter on ebay for £850!)
And now to rush upstairs with loose-bottomed dd2 who has just been making worrying and lengthy burbling noises in my lap...)

Ooh sounds exciting! (am huge moomins fan...)
Will look out for it.

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 11:56

Have you read the Summer Book Sancerre?

OP posts:
sancerre · 15/09/2006 11:58

It's on my shelf...unread
I've been meaning to get round to reading it for aaages. I want to read it but keep putting it off, in case it's not quite what I imagine it is (would hate to spoil how I feel about the Moomins series, iykwim). Is it good ??

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 12:15

It is lovely, but quite unlike the moomin books. Read it!

sancerre · 15/09/2006 12:18

Will try...

Have you seen the Moomin tableware? I collect it, tis v sweet!

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 12:31

v. sweet but v. expensive! There is a shop in Bath that sells a variety of Moomin items. I occasionally go in and browse conspicuously. Still, I can always get dp to do me a moomin mug (he does sublimation printing) but we're awash with mugs!

ah sounds lovely!
I'd love to attempt a moomin mural one day - but better see whether ds grows up being 'into' them first we do have complete moomins (fuzzy felt Polish animation) on dvd though, so there is hope!

sancerre · 15/09/2006 12:44

duh, in his bedroom obv (not in my lounge, not quite that mental about them!!)

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 12:48

OP posts:
sancerre · 15/09/2006 12:51

Dh got as far as looking into flight...which are v v expensive!
I'd go there before any blimmin Disney park though...

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 12:57

Do you like Astrid Lindgren? We went to Astrid Lindgren world in Sweden and it was lovely.

My god I must go back to finland and give them the benefit of my excellent finnish !

TT can you tell me more about going to scandinavia with littlies? Did you have to remortgage your house?

Have not been since the summer before ds was born...

ooooh!

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 15/09/2006 20:31

I am very sorry for the ramble but I am soooooo excited!

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 21:08

We stayed on farms and it was much more reasonable, financially, than we expected. We didn't eat out though... hang on, I'll find youy a useful link...

här There is an English version but it's more fun to plough through the Swedish (confession: I usually give up part way through). Get them to send you a brochure as it's better than the website - more real somehow - and you get a nice map with it.

TT you are a very very bad influence.

I am trying to study and now my head is just full of ferries going through fjords.

And we didn't get to do most cool stuff last time cos of having no kids. We just did hiking and coffee shops and art galleries and stuff.

oooh, did you do roveniemi (santa claus?)

And how old were your kids?

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 21:32

Last time we went they were 7, 5 and 2. We did lakes and forests and Astrid Lindgren World (Vimmerby) and the John Bauer exhibition in Jonkoping (don't try doing o with dots on MN - it doesn't work!), the fairy tale museum (Sagomuseet) in Ljungby, a very wet Midsommarfest in Karlskrona - and saw Rosenbom(have you read Nils Holgersson yet?). I want to go back so much but we are skint . Dd2 has never been and her name is the most Swedish so we owe it to her to afford it somehow soon...

FillyjonktheBananaEater · 15/09/2006 21:34

TooTicky · 15/09/2006 21:35
