Just that really.

I fell in love in Zadie Smith's prose, just finished 'On beauty'. In the middle of 'Anna Karenina' now and eyeing up 'A hundred years of solitude' in my handbag.

Interested in books that you would recommend, as this summery weather makes me want to curl up in a hammock and read, read, read..(don't have a hammock just yet so a beanbag has to do for now).

Another 'Goldfinch' reader here - very nearly finished it so I'm going slowly as I don't want it to end.

I have 'The Remains of the Day' lined-up next.

'The Remains of the Day' is wonderful.

Just started, third of way through, 'The Little Stranger' by Sarah Waters. She has a new one coming out soon: looking forward to it.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the first book in the Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson. I've not seen the films, and I refused to read the books previously because everybody kept telling me to (I can be stubborn over the most ridiculous things). I now wish I had started reading the books earlier as the first one is brilliant so far. I'm looking forward to reading the others asap.

I know why the caged bird sings. I hadn't heard of Maya Angelou until her death. It's very good.

Couldn't get through the Rosie Project as I found it a little twee.
The examined life is excellent.
The husbands Secret is a good old novel with cracking plot that kept me hooked. Excellent writer. Please read this book!

I'm reading the Regeneration trilogy again - was one I wanted to keep on my Kindle (as I used to keep a copy on my bookshelf). Just finished last GOT instalment - surprised I got that far given how convoluted he's making the experience have a sneaky feeling I may have read them out of order

Daughter of fortune by Isabelle Allende. I'm on a big Allende kick at the moment as I found a pile of her books in a charity shop!

The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness at the moment. Also about 250 pages into The Goldfinch and have been for months.........do intend to finish it at some point, but am one of the minority who doesn't love it.

Am reading Birdman by Mo Hayder but am struggling a bit..

I really enjoy Mo Hayder but that one was a difficult read...

Currently reading Broken Angels by Graham Masterton. Before that I read the whole Gone series by Michael Grant, I think they are young adult books but I loved them.

I've read The Fault in Our Stars (didn't particularly enjoy it and was holding off on watching the film before I'd read the book; it's a rule) and the magnificent We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves. I highly recommend the latter!

I bought the least graphic one for my mum, obfuskate, but I think she was still offended by it! Bit like the time I made her watch City of God, after forgetting how violent it was.....
