(appologies if there is already a thread on this - I couldn't find it)

Anyone applied to do the World Book Night Book Giveaway thingy? still a couple of days to apply.

DH has applied and if he gets given a box of books,I will help him with the giving. I looks like a good selection, we are already trying to work out who should get what.

About swapping in general - does everyone know about www.readitswapit.co.uk? You can register books that you have finished reading for swapping and also have a wishlist of books that you want - if you find someone who has a book that you want and they are interested in one of yours you can swap (or vice versa).

There's another website where you get points for sending books that you can then "spend" on other books, but I can't remember what it is called.

chickbean, that's www.bookmooch.co.uk .

Thanks suzikettles - have you used it? When I looked into it I was put off by the thought of having to post abroad.

I've used it quite a bit actually and it works really well.

I'm about 20 points in credit as I've sent out more books than I've requested, and I also send abroad (you get more points for that).

It's pretty flexible - you can specify that you'll only post to your own country if you want, and you can also say that you'll consider posting abroad but they should ask you first. There's no hard feelings if you say "no" to someone. I've had to do that a few times if I've been a bit skint.

You can set up a wishlist and get automated emails if someone offers a book on your list.

I've posted books to Japan, Australia and the US and received books from all over the world as well Smile

I may have to give it a go. I had a real flurry of activity on ReadItSwapIt to begin with but haven't done as much recently.
