I started on Monday (cliche) I have about 4 bloody stone to lose but at least I have started....

It is very quiet in here and it would be nice to have some company going through this. I have got a stinky cold at the minute so am off work which has made it tricky but I am sticking to the plan .

I have downloaded the app and am doing it that way rather than into an actual meeting. Hoping this is not just an expensive fitness pal....

I am also realising that I am having to cut down on the booze as well which is annoying.

Anyone out there want to join me ?

@Whingasaurus

I joined this morning and have used my daily plus the extra from veg/exercise/water. Tomorrow I'm staying at a friend's and having a takeaway I can't find any of my takeaway options on the app so no idea how to track that
@Whingasaurus If you go on to the three lines the top left of the app then from the menu select restaurants. There you will find Indian takeaway food.

Thankyou

QforCucumber · 20/11/2021 07:02

I'm over my weeklies by 18 🤦‍♀️ thanks dominos. Weigh day Is Monday but I jumped on this morning and am down 1.5lbs so hopefully just a blip this week!

Tobogganist · 20/11/2021 11:41

I have lost 0 this week. This is a result of:

  1. Not tracking
  2. Drinking wine

When I don't track I don't care about points.

When I track I consider the amount of points in a glass of wine / extra spoonful of rice / amount of butter I put on my toast. When I was tracking I lost 1 stone this way and it was easy.

I need to take responsibility for myself and be accountable.

My aim is to lose half a stone by Christmas.

Pound by pound.

ilovegreen · 20/11/2021 12:56

I think that will be me on Monday @Tobogganist - zero better than ++ though.

I have been tracking - it hasn’t stopped me eating the wrong things this week, but it has illustrated what’s going, so I’m with you, I’m motivated to get back in the groove - now and leading up to Christmas

ilovegreen · 20/11/2021 12:58

That’s great @QforCucumber, and encouragement to keep tracking over the weekend to be able to record the loss on Monday.

Whingasaurus · 20/11/2021 16:00

I really like tracking my water and steps as well as my food. I just drank 2 glasses of water and walked the dogs further than normal jyst so I could up my points for tonight.

ghostmouse · 21/11/2021 11:32

I’ve just rejoined!

I’ve never had much success with weight watchers, because I used to be a really active person and I was always hungry on it didn’t matter what plan I tried,
This zero points thing might just work and I like the idea of being able to earn more points just by upping my step count and drinking more water, I’ve added 2 points to my weeklies already by doing over my step count and drinking more water

How do I get fish as a zero point, I eat that as much as chicken!

ilovegreen · 22/11/2021 10:28

You can change your zero foods in settings/food. I guess you have to say you eat it a lot and then you would get given it

Tobogganist · 22/11/2021 10:38

It's Start Again Monday! 😁 A pound on today.

Prepping my way into the week. Lots of veg and fish.

I changed my extra free food from potatoes to fruit because I am more controlled with fruit.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 22/11/2021 10:42

I put on 3lb this week. But I was drinking at the weekend and didn't track, plus (TMI) I'm constipated which doesn't help.

TheElvishQueen · 22/11/2021 12:27

Thinking of signing up to this but confused about the different levels. They are offering three months free, but asking for card details. Is it possible to cancel if I am not getting on with it or am I committing to the full term?

QforCucumber · 22/11/2021 13:55

@TheElvishQueen I got the 3 months free deal but it is a contract for 6 months so you still have to provide card details for the other 3 months.

TheElvishQueen · 22/11/2021 17:18

Hmm .. yes. I am not keen.

ilovegreen · 22/11/2021 18:05

I did the 1 month free, 3 month contract. About to come to the end. I’m not sure what happens moving forward, as I want at least 1 more month. I’ll have to check price

ilovegreen · 22/11/2021 19:14

Just checked the deals - 3 months free is 9 month contract, 2 months free is 6 months, and 1 month free is 3 months. All deals then pay the same per month moving forward after contract end.

So yeah - minimum you can pay before cancellation is ~£30.

ilovegreen · 23/11/2021 20:56

Finding it much easier to stay within points this week - had to deliberately pick out and eat the zero foods in the protein category for lunch and dinner and ramp up the vegetable quota (which is a bit OTT now..). Wondering how much difference it will make by next Monday, assuming I don’t go too far off track at the weekend.

ilovegreen · 26/11/2021 22:41

How many points are you earning a day / week from vegetables/water/activity? I usually get 4-6 from vegetables and 3 ish from activity- not sure what to aim for

Whingasaurus · 27/11/2021 06:53

Just checking in with 4lbs off.

TheElvishQueen · 27/11/2021 09:26

How much have you lost if you don’t mind me asking?
ilovegreen · 27/11/2021 12:09

7kg (about a stone) so far. I had a 1 month in the middle where I stayed the same, but it has started dropping again.

How much do you want to lose? I went for the 3 month because I wanted to focus on it and get it done, but I am now going to need another month to get to the goal and then do a bit of maintenance.

TheElvishQueen · 27/11/2021 13:45

That’s really encouraging! I need to lose four stones!!

TheElvishQueen · 27/11/2021 13:45

I’m just worried if I don’t like it and it’s not for me, I’m tied in.

ilovegreen · 27/11/2021 16:07

I can understand that. I hate being in a contract for anything let alone something I don’t want anymore. I think there is a 14 day cooling off period so if you don’t get on with the process you can leave without paying at all (you’d need to check, but pretty sure that’s true).

It is basically a food (and exercise) tracker with a system for calculating points which is supposed to make it easier and better than counting calories. And with the weekly weigh-in to monitor progress which provides accountability and motivation (actual meeting might be even better) . If you are willing to commit to tracking as much as possible what you eat, I think that’s the main criteria for it working…but also the head needs to be in the right place too. You need to really want to do it - for you.

ilovegreen · 27/11/2021 16:09

Sorry if that sounds obvious or patronising- it’s not meant to be!
