Is there anybody out there still doing WW ?

I started on Monday (cliche) I have about 4 bloody stone to lose but at least I have started....

It is very quiet in here and it would be nice to have some company going through this. I have got a stinky cold at the minute so am off work which has made it tricky but I am sticking to the plan .

I have downloaded the app and am doing it that way rather than into an actual meeting. Hoping this is not just an expensive fitness pal....

I am also realising that I am having to cut down on the booze as well which is annoying.

Anyone out there want to join me ?

@PickupaPenguin8 the plan is now personalised to you. You do an assessment and based on your answers and what foods you eat regularly, it gives you 0 point foods that you can eat without worrying about points. All other food is pointed and you get a set amount of points to use each day, plus weekly points which you can choose to use or not. You can add points by drinking water and eating non starchy veg, and exercising.

Thanks so much!

I've just joined WW- I was on a low carb diet which was effective but made me worry about cholesterol so decided to switch.

Just wondered how much fruit other people eat? After low carb, the idea of any fruit at all is very exciting. It's zero points but presumably one can't just eat it endlessly. I've had a slice of melon and a banana today.

LimpLettice · 15/11/2021 17:35

4lbs this week on the new plan. Unlimited oats is great, I have a huge breakfast which really helps.

I eat quite a lot, @JumperandJacket. Banana in my breakfast, an apple at 11, usually some raspberries during the day and a few for desert. Also a couple satsumas if they are in the bowl. I actually think I lose better when my fruit intake is good. I eat ridiculous amounts of raw veg though which means I'm still not really eating pasta or rice so I don't suppose is that high carb.

Hello! I've just joined the new plan too Personal Points. Bit worried though because potatoes are free foods for me now 😟 and I love them too much. I was on blue before and lost a stone easily and kept it off. 4.5 stone to go.

JumperandJacket · 16/11/2021 07:33

@LimpLettice Thank you- that’s good to hear!

User7853367 · 16/11/2021 09:55

I lost 3lbs on the new plan. It's not that different from Blue for me because that really suits how I eat its just that my weeklies are lower but I'm building them up with exercise and, to be honest, I didn't use them all anyway.

User7853367 · 16/11/2021 09:56

@JumperandJacket I eat fruit every day. Apples, banana, pears, berries, melon, frozen mango. It feels like a treat.

ilovegreen · 16/11/2021 19:48

I’ve been doing it for 2.5 months and glad to see this thread as when I started there wasn’t much happening. It is interesting to read everyone’s different views on personal points. WW has been working for me so far, and I can see the point of the new personal points but finding bit hard to get used to it and have been going over on my dailies (and weeklies last week by quite a bit).

And yes, I eat fruit but not more than 3 portions usually.

ilovegreen · 16/11/2021 19:53

What I find hard to get is how high in points some things are, when you know there aren’t that many calories in there. I understand reasoning is they are empty cals, and fruit/veg is free because good for you/ fills you up, but still it feels strange that you can chomp through banana, Apple, grapes, but if you drink wine that is half your points gone.

Bagadverts · 16/11/2021 20:53

It’s a long time since I did Weightwatchers but was thinking about joining and had a couple of questions-
If all the budgets are personal willl they be providing recipes or can you share them without then needing to calculate what it means for you?

Unfortunately I need to eat some ready meals (disability means can sometimes limit cooking. Will it be possible to work out points?
Thanks

Tobogganist · 16/11/2021 23:20

Hi @bagadvertd I started using Personal Points today and it asked me what was in the fridge so that presumably it would come up with a recipe for me. I put in "spinach" and nothing came up. So I put in "chicken" and nothing came up. So I think that part may still be on development. Previously I'd looked up recipes on the Blue plan and loved them. With ready meals you should ok as most brands are listed when you track your meals so you can choose "Tesco Finest Fish Pie" or whatever.

ilovegreen · 17/11/2021 20:45

I haven’t got potatoes free ☹️ baked potato for me says 8 points! I think I have peas beans lentils free instead.

Chubzy21 · 17/11/2021 20:55

I’ve just re-joined and this is day 3 on the new personalised plan. I enjoy a lot of vegan food but am a Pescatarian, so tend to eat lots of fish and pulses.
These are now my free foods along with oats and brown rice/quinoa.

Today’s dinner was a jackfruit and bean chilli. Any good meal ideas out there. I’ll weigh in later this week and report on any loss.

Banani · 18/11/2021 17:59

I’m vegan and have been quite impressed with the vegan recipes on the app, although wish there were more. Had the Moroccan shepherds pic the other day which was really tasty. Trying the tofu chilli tonight.

Still enjoying the new system, had a slight wobble today and nearly ordered takeaway but managed to resist.

PickupaPenguin8 · 18/11/2021 18:06

The problem for me is that I’m insulin resistant. I need a low carb plan. I don’t like processed foods. I don’t eat a lot of meat. Will it work for me?

ilovegreen · 18/11/2021 18:25

Well done for resisting @Banani star.

I’ve realised I’m going to have to pick foods specifically on my 0 list and activity do more of the veg/exercise if I’m going to stay within points. Currently the tracking shows me going way over every day

Banani · 18/11/2021 18:38

I’m type 1 diabetic and have good control on WW. When you complete the personal points survey if you select diabetics you don’t get fruit or other carb heavy foods in your zero list.
PickupaPenguin8 · 18/11/2021 19:14

Thanks

ApolloandDaphne · 19/11/2021 07:11

I've just weighed in after my first full week on the new plan. I lost 1.5lb. I am pleased with that as I never felt hungry or deprived. I used all my daily points, even the ones given to me for eating veg plus some of my weeklies.

How is everyone else doing?

HerRoyalWitchyness · 19/11/2021 07:52

@ApolloandDaphne well done, that's a fantastic loss

ilovegreen · 19/11/2021 08:23

@ApolloandDaphne - well done Smile Did you have to change the type of foods you were eating to stay in budget? I’m wondering if I’m going to STS or even gain, as I’m struggling to keep points within budget (already used weeklies with 3 days to go).

QforCucumber · 19/11/2021 10:51

I'm in after rejoining this week too, Monday is weigh day so we will see - I have just over 2 stone to lose after having baby number 2 mid lockdown!

Previously was blue plan, now have Eggs, potatoes and chicken breast as free options. Its also saying 7k steps a day as target and the gaining points thing has really made me increase my water intake whereas before I'd grab a can of coke zero!

I had only just joined a few days before they changed the plans so it wasn't hard for me to adjust to my new plan. I have avocados, fish/seafood, potatoes, all veg/fruit and pulses as zero foods so I can make loads of things that are almost point free. I feel I am eating loads. I also managed a couple of glasses of wine!

Whingasaurus · 19/11/2021 18:34

I joined this morning and have used my daily plus the extra from veg/exercise/water. Tomorrow I'm staying at a friend's and having a takeaway I can't find any of my takeaway options on the app so no idea how to track that
