Hello! Smile Today I signed back up to Weight Watchers. I have been off the wagon since way before Christmas, so 4 stone to get to my target weight. Find it so hard for the first week or so, then it becomes more routine. ARGH such a long way to go. Blush

Hi!
I have just joined WW for the first time and I am beyond confused!
I'm not even sure where to begin.

I'm on a low budget and all the meal plans and recipes on there seem to have a million ingredients.

I'm not sure how to make it work.

codenameduchess · 25/01/2020 21:47

I recently joined for the second time, left while pregnant and baby is now 2 months... and I'm a stone heavier 🤦‍♀️

First week I did crap but went to a studio to kick off week 2, next weigh in is Tuesday 😬 I find the diet easy enough it's just sticking to it I struggle with, but after having gestational diabetes in my pregnancy I need to shift around 4 stone.

Chattycatty · 27/01/2020 03:34

Hi I joined last week first weigh in tuesday. Doing it online no local group to me. Finding it pretty ok batch cooking is helping though. I've got so much weight to lose so aiming for 2 stone to start with.

Chattycatty · 28/01/2020 11:41

6lb lost happy with that found it quite simple but wow was I underestimating portion sizes

codenameduchess · 28/01/2020 12:28

3lbs off here, happy with that. I've been conscious that I need to balance while breastfeeding and not go as extreme as i usually would in the first few weeks but would be happy with 1-3lbs a week

Chattycatty · 28/01/2020 15:27

Well done 3 is great and especially with a little one I dont lose fast and then get disheartened but I really want to do this

yoyoinSE3 · 28/01/2020 15:43

I've just started. Going to be a bit of a struggle I think as I LOATHE low fat dairy products but I hate eating low carb even more so gotta be one or the other really. Am on 23 points which doesn't seem like very much.

Chattycatty · 28/01/2020 17:22

What colour plan are you on yoyo?

Peridot1 · 28/01/2020 17:29

I joined a few weeks ago but due to being ill and then having a traumatic tooth extraction and now staying with my dad I haven’t actually started yet.

Planning on going to meetings on Saturday mornings so first one will be this week.

Joined last January and went to one meeting and then never went back. Blush

Was fairly successful on WW a few years ago so hoping the meetings and support will help.

Five stone to lose.

yoyoinSE3 · 30/01/2020 12:19

Blue, I think. Whatever the 23 point one is!

MintyMabel · 03/02/2020 11:03

I’m back on it today. I find it quite confusing though. It used to be so much easier.

emmaxlouise88xxxx · 03/02/2020 11:08

I'm on the green plan. Was my birthday on Saturday, so went a bit off track! Back to normal today and hoping Friday's weigh in won't be too bad. Blush

@yoyoinSE3 the actual number of points you're allocated on any plan vary depending on how much weight you need to lose so although it's 23 pts for you it could be more or less for everyone else.

I'm about to re-join as i was struggling financially at the end of last year and couldn't afford it. I will re-join at my metting on Wednesday but I'm doing my big shop tonight so I'm getting my meal plan oprganised.

Would anybody mind pointing a couple of things for me? (Blue plan)

Peridot1 · 03/02/2020 12:27

I went to a meeting on Saturday morning. Almost didn’t go but did in the end.

16 st 6.5. Eek. Urgh.

Anyway. First goal is to lose a stone by 26 March.

Didn’t actually start plan until today as had things on at the weekend.

But have tracked my breakfast today - a slice of seeded brown bread with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a banana. Having soup for lunch. Pork stroganoff for dinner with left over roast pork from yesterday and lots of veg.

No wine. Which will be a challenge. Huge family argument last night and DS is not talking to me and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife.

Wish I could drink tea in the evenings. Keeps me awake though a si don’t like decaf tea. Do like herbal teas but they are not the same as a good cuppa really.

Am on the green plan so need to get my head around that a bit.

codenameduchess · 03/02/2020 12:43

I've been horribly snacky this week... will still force myself to go to group tomorrow though.

I'm making a Brazilian coconut chicken curry for tea today. Depending on portion size it's 6-10sp (purple plan) is with 0sp brown rice. It smells amazing!

I've found a few low point snack foods, evening snacking is my downfall! But 'the snack organisation' rice crackers (3sp per 1/4 pack, around 10 crackers) and Morrison's flavoured ready to eat chicken skewers (1sp for 2) are filling the hole.

soupforbrains · 03/02/2020 12:44

@Peridot1 Thats in a similar ball park to my starting weight when i started last year. You've done the right thing to set yourself a reasonable target. Good luck.

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 04/02/2020 16:30

I've done WW before successfully (the old plan, which was similar to the green plan now), and currently have a stone to lose, so I am getting back on it.

Chattycatty · 04/02/2020 21:39

I'm on purple its forced me to do more cooking as with a ds with asd food intolerances I basically ate what he did. Weighed again today another 2 lbs so 8 in two weeks which I'm delighted with.

GiveUsACoffee · 08/02/2020 23:45

I just joined WW again, four years after reaching gold. I need to lose around a stone and a half. Been good since I signed up on Wednesday, but tonight was takeaway, so waaaay too many points

Pentomama · 11/02/2020 22:45

Hi guys, also just started back on ww, got around 4 stone to shift🙈 what did everyone think of the assessment on the app? It has put me on green! Smile

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 12/02/2020 07:47

This morning was my weigh in and is lost 2kg.

Not sure how much of that real weigh or just water, but it's good to have lost. Last week, I used all my daily points (30 a day on Green), and all but 2 of my weekly points. I didn't use any of the 65 fit points I earned though.

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 12/02/2020 07:49

I like the app - the ability to scan foods is fantastic, really quick to see whether something is worth eating!

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 12/02/2020 07:51

And my assessment put me on the right plan for me.

I used WW successfully before (when the plan was like the current green one), but found it very difficult to follow when they changed it a few years ago (to something like the blue I think). So green was spot on for me - I know I can make it work, because it has before

soupforbrains · 13/02/2020 14:32

@ReceptacleForTheRespectable Thats a great loss for a week although as people will tell you over and over some of it may be water etc. it's still positive for the motivation!

I'm on the Blue plan as it is what works for me and what I'm used to meal plan and bulk cooking recipes wise so rather than try to overhaul my already overhauled life again it's easier for me to stick with what I know and is working. Further down the road I might reconsider a switch if I find my progress slower or more difficult. I never use my fit points, I don't find it necessary and can eat enough to not be hungry anyway (not that I earn many at the moment!)

Peridot1 · 15/02/2020 13:44

I ended up being pretty rubbish in week one and had cystitis last Saturday so didn’t go. Week two hasn’t been great but I made myself go this morning and lost 1.5 pounds. Not great but it’s a loss!

Having friends over for dinner tonight and DH is cooking Thai food and I’m planning on just enjoying it all but starting properly tomorrow.

I’m on green too and hadn’t really focussed on the fact that it is very similar to the old plan that worked for me before. That’s reassuring as I was wondering if it was the right plan for me really.
