Who's up for joining me? I'm back to weightwatchers online because it works for me but having tried the 5:2 I loved having the support of the mumsnet thread. I guess you get that support if you go to meetings but I miss it being online only and wondered if any other likeminded new starters were keen to join me on this journey?

I've got a BMI of 25.4 so I'm not massively overweight but I could do with getting it down - it's either go out and buy a whole new wardrobe because I don't fit what's in there now or I just have to lose the weight to fit what I have!I think I have a stone to lose and any more would be a bonus.

I'm off now to go for a jog / walk to get myself some fitness points. Who's in?

Hello! I'm getting ready to start again on Monday (don't want to fall at the first hurdle of easter weekend!)

I've had the app since new year but haven't been using it Blush I would like to lose a stone. Unfortunately my holiday is in 6 weeks so don't think il have lost it by then!

I'd be interested to learn more about fitpoints as I couldn't really get my head around it. Last time I used the app fitpoints were automatically used up once weeklies were gone but I couldn't get that to work this time. I have a Fitbit and do lots of walking.

RoobarbBaby · 12/04/2017 18:45

Signing in.

Signed up for ww online today ahead of starting on Monday. Just had my third baby (he's 7 weeks) so its time to shift the weight once and for all. I've got at least 6st to lose so it's going to be a long journey.

Hello everyone 👋 I'm online only!! Joined in January and had been doing really well but have slightly fallen off the wagon this past few weeks and back to eating loads of sweets and sugary things!!
Have a wedding in 12 weeks, have lost 24lb so far and would love to lose the same again!!
Hi Hotpink!!

228agreenend · 15/04/2017 09:18

Hi all, just joined online and plan to start properly on Tuesday.

Can someone help,me with the online site? I put my musesli in. However, I don't understand the column with all the fractions in. What does this refer to? Also how much is a serving? A manufacturers serving, or is there a list somewhere that tells me that I've somehow missed?

Tried dieting since Christmas, though I was doing the right things but only lost a couple of pounds, then seem to put it all back on last weekend when having visitors. Grrrr!

sez49 · 16/04/2017 21:50

228agreenend I always find a serving difficult. With something from a packet I always take a serving to mean as per the nutritional data on the packaging. I usually weigh and then calculate the weight in grams on the WW app. The second column I usually leave blank, but sometimes if I have half a swede for example I will leave the first column as 0 as move the second fractions column to 1/2. I sometimes use this for pack as well e.g. my chilled Quorn bacon has 8 rashers. Sometimes I have half a pack and sometimes I have 5/8ths of the pack (5 rashers and give the other 3 to my son). But for most stuff I just tend to use the first column with grams. Hope that helps a bit and I haven't confused you!

thewaitresses I think you will need to go into your settings and then food settings, then swapping and select an option there. I think the default option is no swapping.

Oldbrownowl · 18/04/2017 12:08

Me and my husband are doing online, starting Friday. Actually looking forward to it as put on so much weight, would be nice to lose a lot. I usually do slimming world but decided to do WW this time as heard loads of really good things.

How is everyone getting on?

ScarletPower · 18/04/2017 19:18

Just joined online today for three months. I'm being referred to Tier 3 so am awaiting an appointment but it would be nice not to need it. Will start tomorrow - going to read through the whole thread now, just marking my place.

blueteapot · 19/04/2017 09:01

I've started online today. Did it before, years ago, and it definitely works... then we had two kids in 2 years and now I'm a size 18. I have 3.5 stone to lose. Husband is also dieting but didnt want to do WW with me. Hes better at saying no than me, I need structure...

I have joined but not started. I did slimming world for ages but really don't have time to go to a group anymore so wanted to try something app based.

What am i supposed to eat?

228agreenend · 21/04/2017 22:40

I think, the idea is that you are given a number of points, and you can eat what you want so long as you don't exceed the number.

I was shocked to find the amount of Alpen sugar-free muesli was a third of my daily allowance, so it's made me cutbdown.

Candlelightnewf · 22/04/2017 17:49

Hello all. Sorry I haven't posted. Still trying to find the motivation to start.
I'm wondering weather to take the no count route as opposed to counting everything.
Has anyone tried that?

thatstoast · 23/04/2017 18:28

How does no count work? There's some no count recipes on the app but they have points so surely that's counting?

I've been taking a look through some points values and I'm sceptical based on what i would be able to eat. I know people say that about slimming world though and i did really well with that so I'll give it a try.

Candlelightnewf · 23/04/2017 20:46

Hi toast. It seems to be along the slimming world lines. If you google no count food list, you'll see the foods you don't have to count.
Foods not on the list are pointed so you count those like Syns. You get a weekly allowance.

thatstoast · 23/04/2017 21:29

The No Count List seems very familiar. Except it says I can eat unlimited Crumpets, which doesn't seem right.

I'm starting tomorrow.

sez49 · 23/04/2017 21:58

There is a great FB group for No Count with lots of great ideas and inspiration. I have tried a few no count days while back, but am mostly pointing. Have, on the old plan, done Filling and Healthy, which was pretty much the same as no count. Only thing is to make sure your portions are ok. You are meant to eat until feel satisfied, not stuffed.

Candlelightnewf · 23/04/2017 22:06

Unlimited crumpets! Woohoo! Have you seen the giant ones?

Thanks sez. Will look that group up.

sez49 · 23/04/2017 22:08

It is WW - no count friends.

sez49 · 23/04/2017 22:11

LOL! Those giant crumpets are very tempting...

DarkDarkNight · 24/04/2017 09:42

Joining the thread. I joined WW last night and am going to a meeting tomorrow.

I hate feeling like I don't know what I'm doing so I will hopefully start tomorrow.

HealthyMummyCat · 24/04/2017 10:39

I'm thinking of joining but I'm not sure it's for me.
I was on SW but i really could not get on with that plan.
I currently calorie count but the numbers drive me mad and i end up so hungry.

I want to sign up while it's 50% off but i don't want to waste my money.
Can i ask why you joined?
And to those on the plan for a while, what keeps you going?
Thanks Xx

Dreamqueen · 24/04/2017 13:45

I've just signed up online. First time trying WW.

Going to start tomorrow.

sez49 · 24/04/2017 17:02

HealthyMummyCat what was is about SW that you couldn't get in with? It is many years since I tried SW, red and green days.

For me, if I follow it, WW is the one that works for me and always has. I find it very flexible. This is something I need to do as a lifestyle change rather than a quick fix. I have currently lost 101lbs with WW, counting smart points. The thing that has kept me going this time, and this is the longest I have ever stuck with it, it that each bit I lose, I start to feel a little bit better. I still have lots to lose, but am the "lightest" I have been for around 25 years! I am eating more healthily, although I still work in treats as I know if I exclude them completely, I will crave them at some point.

The support of the meetings is a real help to me, as is the support of other WW members. I am sometimes cooking new recipes, so that I have some variety and some of the meals I do are tastier than before WW. I am trying out some No Count recipes, but pointing them at the moment. I may well switch to no count for a bit, or mix no count days with pointing days in a week.

I have stuck to the plan since re-joining last year, but have also experienced some gains and stay the sames. Those are frustrating weeks, when the scales don't reflect the effort put in, but I have stayed on track despite the frustrations and it eventually sorts itself out.

HealthyMummyCat · 24/04/2017 17:20

@sez49

With sw it was the 'free' food approach i didn't like and the fact you had 5-15 syns to use and sometimes the syn adding up was odd.....Alot of syns for an avacado but a small chocolate bar was less when in reality the avacardo is much more healthier.
I struggle with grazing. Im fine on a morning but come the afternoon and i just constantly graze on rubbish. Trying to break that cycle.
Really thinking seriously about WW's.
