Well done @Pineapplepansy! Small win for me also today - some shorts that were very tight before now fit perfectly 😁 it feels like I've put very little effort in so a pleasant surprise!

Pineapplepansy · 08/07/2023 06:25

@Doggymummar doesn't it feel like the biggest relief to be able to resist food instead of cramming as much in as possible?

@JaffacakeJanine well done re the shorts. It's great being able to get into clothes that I thought I might never wear again - I'm glad I hadn't got rid of them all now as I came close a few times!
I've woken up not hungry at all - normally I'd be stationed by the toaster by this time on a Saturday morning.

Doggymummar · 08/07/2023 08:00

I hit my first goal today! 3 stone 1 pound gone. Amazing 😍 probably need to do the same again but this is brilliant. I started on 14 March but with doing every other day since the shortages it's three months of tablets. Worth every penny.

Pineapplepansy · 08/07/2023 08:28

Great news @Doggymummar - that's a fantastic loss.

SilkySuky · 08/07/2023 10:39

@Doggymummar can I ask, if you've been dosing alternative days, after a week or so did you not get any food cravings/ noise creeping back?

Others have said the medication stays in your system for 7 days so I'm wondering if you are halving your weekly dosage if it becomes less effective?

How?!?!

I'm so jealous, I'm not even getting to a stone!

Wow @Doggymummar! That is amazing progress for 4 months! Have you been upping exercise or anything to increase weight loss?

Doggymummar · 08/07/2023 13:13

I'm doing the fast 800 diet which I find fairly easy to do it's loads of food no alcohol no exercise. I also do intermittent fasting, eating only one meal most days. So yesterday I had a magnum and then half a chicken BREAST with a pitta and salad and garlic mayo from the kebab shop. I will have the other half tonight, am just eating a pack of square crisps for 99 calories. I do feel a bit hungrier doing every other day but I know 800 calories is sufficient so I don't listen to the brain noise. I was also heavier than a lot of you. I started at 18 stone 2 but I will be in the 14s by this time next week.

Londonlady365 · 08/07/2023 13:40

@Cetra06 that's what's happened to me. I have come off tablets and eating more. No weight gain even with more food inside me but I feel really fat and slow. Maybe it's adjusting to blood sugar levels and glycogen?. Maybe not losing weight feels like gaining?

JaffacakeJanine · 10/07/2023 20:13

Fyi managed to get Rybelsus pretty easily from Numan, swift delivery :) as mentioned before it's a bit more expensive than other places but I'm happy to pay to ensure I'll actually get something!

Pineapplepansy · 11/07/2023 06:44

Hope everyone is ok. I'm still plodding on although the wheels came off at the weekend and I ate a lot of rubbish.

Looking forward to a few days of eating better and seeing the scales move in the right direction again.

I'm glad I started on Rybelsus in the nick of time as it sounds like it's going to be harder to get hold of it going forward as supplies of saxenda are limited and many suppliers aren't taking on new customers. I also read on another thread that the government may intervene so people who are prescribed it by GPs will take priority over private prescriptions.

Cjgdjkf · 11/07/2023 09:57

Wow Rybelsus at the last place I got it (now out of stock) was £174 inc fast delivery a few weeks ago and is now £244 and out of stock!!! Wowsers

steady weightloss here for me each week about a couple of pounds. Well done on everyone else’s achievements! X

Doggymummar · 11/07/2023 12:28

It is getting to be pretty expensive now that's for sure. Nothing has ever worked for me before so I will make the necessary cuts to my budget to keep getting it.

SilkySuky · 11/07/2023 17:17

Expecting my first delivery of 14mg today and am pretty nervous about side effects, but have been in 7mg for 3 months and it's definitely not as effective as it was, and calorie counts have been creeping up again.

If I'm spending this much money I may as well have the full recommended dosage!

On the BMI chart I am now just obese class 1, when I started I was class 3. I know it's an imperfect measure but I'm happy with this.

I'm also down over 15kg since march of this year. Like pp I will also make every effort I can to continue affording this. Surely the manufacturer is stepping up production?

The manufacturer has already doubled production, but Ozenpic/Rybelsus usage has simply taken off the scale. It's not a quick and simple job to bring new facilities online, it takes months, even years to build new factories, train staff, source new raw materials etc., at this stage there's very little they can do to make extra quickly (i.e. within months rather than years). They do outsource some production of Wegovy and that outsourcer had problems earlier in the year. Hopefully, when that production is sorted out, many people in the USA with stop taking Ozempic and start taking Wegovy, freeing stock for the rest of the world.

RachelGreensHair · 11/07/2023 18:44

Genuinely beginning to feel like it's an overhyped expensive scam for all the difference it's making for me ie none whatsoever.

SilkySuky · 11/07/2023 18:47

@RachelGreensHair how long have you been taking it and what dose are you on? Some people don't start to have the full effect until they are up to 14mg.

SilkySuky · 11/07/2023 18:51

@mumwheresmyribena thanks so much for this explanation. I've recently read there's a new generation of GLP-1 agonist drugs being developed that are more effective than semaglutide and liraglutide, but they will not be available until late 2024. Maybe this, as well as what you said about production and availability of wegovy, will make getting hold of these meds easier in future.

JaffacakeJanine · 11/07/2023 23:25

Really interesting article! Very excited to see the leaps and bounds in this research (although it'll probably take eons to get approved over here!)

ElsaMars · 12/07/2023 09:12

Finally managed to order 7mg from Daily chemist, fingers crossed I actually get it. Was £184 inc delivery and I really had to weigh up whether to do it (see what I did there) but the feeling of eating for fuel and not constantly craving is so bloody great. Not lost as much as I would like but definitely more that I would have without it.

Londonlady365 · 12/07/2023 13:05

Ajhill aesthetics and slim4you have 14mg but possibly restricted to existing customers £200-220

Cetra06 · 12/07/2023 17:42

@RachelGreensHair so sorry to hear it’s still not working for you! Have you spoken to your provider? We can help you trouble shoot if you want ? What dose are you on now?

Cetra06 · 12/07/2023 17:42

Hey everyone I’m due to go on holiday in a couple weeks. Does anyone drink whilst on Rybelsus? Will I feel like death? I’m thinking to stop taking it 2 days before I leave.

Londonlady365 · 12/07/2023 17:53

@Cetra06 I had a two large glass limit and no food limit. The bad news is it took about 2 weeks for it to wear off enough to enjoy alcohol again and it still tastes strange. I have switched to sweeter wines
