Shall we lose 8lbs in 4 weeks?

Would anyone like to join me in trying to lose 8lbs in 4 weeks?

I was on the June thread, found the support very motivating and lost 9lbs. Now it's July the thread has tailed off but I still have weight to lose. So does anyone fancy giving it a go?

2lbs a week is definitely doable and we could be half a stone lighter by August!

Weighed in today. 1lb off. Slightly annoyed with myself as I did a sneaky weigh on Friday and it was looking like 3lb off - must have relaxed too much at the weekend .

We have 10 days to go this month so how are we all? I feel a tad unmotivated to be honest. DH and I are fighting and he is working all hours so I have the dcs all day everyday .

I'm still sticking to low carb and am enjoying this way of eating but I've had a few glasses of wine the past 2 nights and I have a night out tomorrow so more drinking. I need to stop and I bet the weight will fall off much easier.

Can I lose 5 lbs in 10 days??? Unlikely but I think after tomorrow night I'm going not drink until the end of the month and up my walking to see if I can make a difference.

What's a good alternative to bread and pasta?? I just love them. What will satisfy me the same?

febes · 20/07/2010 14:32

Parker You might need to go cold turkey on the bread and pasta and cut them out as if you have a little or look for an a substitute you might crave it. I was a carb muncher before but have totally cut them out and I can honestly say I don't miss them because I feel full and satisfied because of all the protein.
Today I have had
B: 2 bacon and 1 egg
L: salad with fajita chicken (minus the wraps)
D: will be salad and steak i think.

parker1313 · 20/07/2010 14:38

Febes. I'd like to but just cannot imagine it at all. What other meals do y have?
I don't know enough about food.

febes · 20/07/2010 20:11

ummmmm

prawn salad
sheppards pie except with cauliflower mashed instead of potato
salmon with cabbage
roast chicken with butternut squash and spinach
cheese omelette
beef stroganoff with cabbage
chicken curry with spinach

theres a brilliant thread around somewhere with lowcarb menu plans

Hello all, just back from a weekend of eating a lot. Weighed myself on Saturday, and again on Sunday after a night of drinking and Thai food and I'd put on 4lbs in 24hrs! Mad. I'm pretty much back to Friday's weight today.

I'm wondering if my slow down is because I'm eating too many ready meals. I love low-fat meals and don't think I could have lost the weight so far without them. Previously I've obsessed about food whenever I've been on a diet and this way I don't have to think about food so much. Just stick something in the microwave while DCs and DH have whatever they're having. They're low-cal so I can count how many calories and I don't seem to be going over 1200 any day. But maybe I'm relying on them too much and hence the plateau.

Don't lose heart, Febes. Would you take 3lbs in 10 days? Cos that's do-able. Also, you signed up to the thread on 7th July giving you til the 5th August to get 8lbs off in 4 weeks. 5lbs off in over a fortnight is do-able, I know cos I've done it! You won't regret trying!

Another 1lb down. Very because DH and I went out during the week and had a bottle of wine each over a thai meal and then went on for a couple of more drinks at the pub next door.
I want to lose 4 more pounds to get to my first stone before the wedding in 2 weeks. Sooooo I have decided no booze until the wedding!! I think it will be easier to lose that without the alcohol as I'm really enjoying the low carb food.

LemonDifficult · 24/07/2010 13:01

Well done febes! And 4lbs in 2 weeks is completely doable - good luck!

I have managed to shift a lb this week - I know I should be happier but I really can't understand why I'm not getting more off. I think it may be that I've got to reduce my carbs and have a no-carb meal once a day rather than just rely on the low cal/low fat stuff. I'm trying to tell myself that steady weight loss is the best sort but I had really hoped to do the 8lbs in 4 weeks and so far we're at 3.5lbs with 11 days to go.

Oh dear, I may have to do some exercise too...

Low cal never worked for me Lemon. I love Low carb. The best thing is that I am never hungry. I have fairly big meals but no snacks in between.

Today
B: Fry up eggs, bacon, sausage, mushroom and tomato
L: salad, cold roast chicken, grated cheddar and mayo
D: Not sure yet maybe a BBQ with pork chops and salad??

I also drink loads of water. I have lost 10lbs in 35 days and have drunk lots of wine in that time. I wonder how much I could have lost with out it.

Yes 4lbs is definately doable in 2 weeks just no boozing!!

justaminute · 26/07/2010 09:22

One pound off for me again this week. So the yo yo is back to where it was at the end of June!

I'm not following a particular diet, just trying to exercise more and limit the bad stuff - obviously I'm not limiting it enough

febes I'm at your capacity for alcohol, I'd have been on floor after half a bottle .

BulaBaby · 26/07/2010 09:34

Hi there. Can I join your thread please?

I joined a Rosemary Conley class at the end of January and have yoyoed a bit, but have now lost 12lbs. I am hoping that on Thursday(weigh in day) that I have lost that last 2lbs to get to my 1st stone. It is also my 40th birthday on Thursday.

justaminute · 26/07/2010 10:00

2 reasons to celebrate Thursday Bulababy! Good luck with getting to that magic 1 stone and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I like Rosemary - I've bought a few of her magazines, have one of her DVDs and try to follow her principles. I like the idea of her classes, sadly there isn't a group near me.

justaminute · 01/08/2010 12:22

So July has come to an end and I've failed (again) to lose 8lb. I have lost some weight so I shouldn't grumble but it is the 3lb I lost in June and then put straight back on.

Why is it so hard? I hoped cutting back on the biscuits and wine and upping the exercise would do the trick. Sadly not.

LemonDifficult · 02/08/2010 17:48

5lbs in 4 weeks for me. I'm pretty pleased.

Right, 8lbs in 4 weeks in August though!

Thanks for all the support everyone
