Shall we lose 8lbs in 4 weeks?

Would anyone like to join me in trying to lose 8lbs in 4 weeks?

I was on the June thread, found the support very motivating and lost 9lbs. Now it's July the thread has tailed off but I still have weight to lose. So does anyone fancy giving it a go?

2lbs a week is definitely doable and we could be half a stone lighter by August!

Hi,
Can I join too? I've got another stone to lose, but I'm just losing my motivation right now. I need to get my act together again.
I am 10st 7lbs this AM. The same as last week, but I've had a fair few bad moments this week, so I need to restart again now to eliminate any weight gain! I know from experience I get really disheartened after a few falls, and then start eating crap every meal until I put back on all the weight.
I'm going back to college in September, and at the moment I'm working part time in a cafe so I have time to do all my pre course reading. The problem with this is I tend to eat out of boredom when I'm alone in the house all day. If I was busy (and not so close to the kitchen all day!) I'd be fine eating 3 healthy meals, but I snack at the moment and that leads to overeating!
I ate so much rubbish last night, and today I feel really bloated, tired and puffy. I am determined to get back on track today, especially as I can feel the physical effects bad diet have had on my body. Also, I've recently treated myself to a load of new clothes, and I want to be able to feel fabulous in them!
So, lots of fruit and veg for me today. I'll nip to the supermarket to get some carrots an cucumber to snack on when I'm doing my reading later.
Hope youre all doing well, and sorry this turned into a bit of an essay!

Have you seen those awful ads with Jonny thingy and Lisa Snowdon for breakfast biscuits? They're like that but from France! I fell in love with them when we went on holiday last month.

The ones I like have a tiny bit of nutella in the middle (think French portion sizes!) and two of those is only 230 cals. I think they have added fibre or something to fill you up so if I have that and a piece of fruit and a coffee, I can keep going until lunch.

Of course I am now down to my last packet, and no trip to France for the next 12 months.....

twinkle183 · 09/07/2010 19:00

Me too.. can I join! I was in a thread towards the beginning of April I weight 11st 12lbs but am not 10st 6lbs and need to loose another stone.. so need all the help I can get!

I start Uni in September and would quite like loose the remainder... also have a wedding to go to in August and would like to look lovely.. have exactley a month until that event.....

So would love the support....

Hi Twinkle, Owlets and HouseofCrazy and everybody. How is it going for everyone? Anyone stepped on the scales today?

Day five for me and I've lost 1.7lbs. Yippppeeeeee! I am so excited, I can hardly believe the weight loss is Actually Happening after so many months of me telling myself to get started. And I'm loving this thread so big thank you all for the support.

lilly/febes - good work on managing a chippy/hectic social whirl and 2lbs off!

owlets · 10/07/2010 22:30

Hi there,
Well done Lemon and Febes, both fab losses.
Are you following any plans or just sensible eating/moving more? I'm trying to completely avoid wheat, cutting down on carbs, and generally eat lean meats, veg, salads, fruits etc. I'm not being really strict though, so long as I'm cutting down on calories, moving more and losing weight I'm happy.
I'm going to weigh myself on Mondays (well, actually I'm really bad and weigh myself a lot more often than once a week, but Mondays will be my 'official' weigh in), so will log on then for the first loss (hopefully).
Good luck everyone.

justaminute · 12/07/2010 09:51

Well done all you losers

-1 lb for the week, +2 lb for the month.

I bought myself a new outfit at the weekend, I had to get size 12 top and size 16 trousers, I'm fed up of being so pear shaped . I eat better and exercise more than I did pre children but still I have a fat arse!!!

owlets · 12/07/2010 10:38

Morning!
I jumped on the scales this morning and have lost 1lb since Friday. Well, if i'm being pedantic i've lost 1 1/4 lbs, which brings me down to 10st 5 3/4 lbs. Dead happy as it is in line with the 2lb a week target, and more importantly I've managed to break past the 10st 7lb plateau i'd hit. Yay!
Really happy this threadd was set up as I needed a challenge desperately to save me from mid-diet blues.
Good luck all. Happy eating and losing!

EmmyVonN · 12/07/2010 22:15

Well done everyone!

One week later and I've lost 1 lb. I ate quite a bit of rubbish last week so that's fair enough.

This week I have to tackle the chocolate which is the root of the problem. And toast. I'm a toast fiend.

It's good to see how well everyone is doing. I find it inspiring.

lilly153 · 13/07/2010 01:07

one week later and ive lost 1lb i eat loads of rubbish this week still so just really need to cut out the fast food and exercise more
well done everybody on ur loses

febes · 13/07/2010 08:59

Morning
I wasn't too bad on the hen party. I stuck to vodka, lime and soda instead of the lovely sugary cocktails. We went to a vietnese restaurant for dinner so it was easy to low carb. I had crab and then pork belly both delish. Had red wine with dinner then at the nightclub I had waters!!!! I find that low carbing makes me get drunk much quicker so easier not to drink loads.

I had another meal out last night but it was nandos so had yummy chicken salad but had 1/2 bottle wine.

I'm going for a curry tonight. Not drinking! I'll take the car so I'm not tempted.

One of the reasons I have been such a socialite is that we are immigrating in 2 months after nearly 10 years in the uk so lots of evens to cram in. I've got to calm it down a bit though if I want to lose 6more lbs +++.

My target is a wedding we are going to on the 8th of August

SparkyMalarky · 13/07/2010 13:33

Hiya well done on all the losses - great to see we're all doing well especially when there's been evenings out!

I've lost 1lb since last week - and had PMT and lots of chocolate, so better than nothing, but want a 3lb loss this week to stay on target!

5lb to go til I'm at my pre- 2nd baby weight - 2 stone 5lb before I reach my real prePG weight!

Febes - where are you going back to?

febes · 13/07/2010 13:48

New Zealand

justaminute · 13/07/2010 21:06

Confession time...I ate a whole family size bag of malteasers this pm .

I had to buy a bag of minstrels for a work colleague and Tescos had a special offer if you bought two bags of chocolate. I told myself I'd be able to ration them through the week with the dcs... who was I kidding? I never learn, within 30 mins they were all gone, once I'd started they kept calling and then I felt guilty that I'd eaten so many that I thought I might as well eat them all...confession over.

As punishment I have done the Shred DVD and played netball tonight. I could kick myself for lack of will power. I'm hoping that by confessing all I remember how bad I felt afterwards, I didn't even enjoy them all.

LemonDifficult · 14/07/2010 20:51

Malteasers are soooo good, I can see myself doing exactly the same thing!

Every time I've had diet disaster meal in the last few weeks - yup, the tirimisu amongst others - I've been telling myself that slim people also eat tirimisu/malteasers/cheese fondue/whatever. I suppose what makes me different to 'naturally slim' types is that they probably see these things as a rare one-off (as you are doing) whereas pre-diet I wouldn't have thought twice.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't feel bad cos it's probably diet mentality that counts in the long run, which it sounds like you've got!

OP posts:
justaminute · 14/07/2010 21:20

Thanks Lemon. I haven't had tiramisu in years, my tastebuds are going wild for it now!

I think the diet mentality is slowly creeping through. At the weekend I was at a kid's birthday party and turned down the nibbles. For once I listened to my body, i wasn't hungry, I didn't need to eat. It felt good.

SparkyMalarky · 15/07/2010 10:57

It's the diet mentality I need to get - so it's ok to have a single biscuit with a cuppa - just not 6, and then a magnum after dinner and some pringles a bit later!

(Did do a sneaky weigh in this morning tho - and have lost another 1.5 lbs so something must be working!!)

febes · 15/07/2010 15:01

I just went to a friends for lunch and she made pasta with bought sauce so loaded with carbs!!! I did turn down the pudding though. I have been so good so I'll have to get back on the wagon now to make sure I lose this week. I think I'll wait until next week to weigh in as I don't want to get discouraged.

febes · 16/07/2010 15:58

I did weigh myself. I couldn't help myself as my clothes feel baggy today. I have lost another lb!! . I'm pleased considering I've been on a hen do, out for dinner twice and pasta for lunch yesterday. I have lost 9lbs so far in a month and a few days so 5lbs more and thats my first stone

I am on my period too. Ok everyone else how have you been this week? I need us all for motivation!!

LemonDifficult · 16/07/2010 16:08

I've hit a plateau. Very frustrating as I'm trying hard! Same weight today as I was on Monday. Grrrrr.

OP posts:
LemonDifficult · 16/07/2010 16:08

Well done Sparky and Febes.

OP posts:
febes · 16/07/2010 18:35

Tell us what you are eating then Lemon? Lets try and work out whats going on. Its normal to not lose for a bit so don't lose faith.

SparkyMalarky · 16/07/2010 19:56

Well done Febes! Have you got a treat planned to celebrate your first stone off?

I was pretty rubbish today as I had cake with a friend this afternoon, and had pasta bake for tea, so a bit carb heavy.

I'm finding that a no food after 8:30 rule is really helping - if I can't snack in the evening, my calorie intake for the day goes down.

Have been v rubbish at getting any exercise this week tho - need to try and get out for a run this weekend (yuck!).

Lemon - are you drinking enough water? That can make a big difference I think.
