Anybody tried the Hypnoband?

We're looking into the Hyponband (virtual gastric band done via hypnotherapy and cbt) as a last ditch alternative to gastric surgery. Anybody had it done or contemplating it?
We've masses of weight to lose - 10stone plus each...

Hi kimmy have you tried the Hypno-band website that's how I found mine - Hypnoband.com

Had the op today..went ok, I was definitely 'under'....probably a bit too early to say if it will have any effect, although saying that have not eaten very much at all today... A very small side salad at morrisons after my treatment - didn't finish it, and a starter portion of Peking duck this evening....I do feel full so I suppose it's worked... It will be interesting to see how it develops once I've listened to the reinforcement cd, every day for next week. I am due to go back in a month for band tightening and a kick up the bum!

Hello Bucksfizzy,
Thank you for replying to my question. I will look at the website and hopefully find someone near to where i live .

Wishing you success

Kimmy x

Hi guys
I am new to mumsnet. I don't have any kids (plenty of nieces, nephews and godchildren so hopefully they count!) but I am considering getting a Hypnoband as a treat for myself with some of my redundancy money as I am desperate to lose weight, for life but initially for a family wedding in Cyprus in late June. All I keep reading are good, positive reports but it would be great to keep in touch with people who are having it done at the same time as me. Hope you all get on really well with yours x

Leelou75 · 22/02/2012 17:38

Hi Bucksfizzy

How's you doing since having the band fitted

Leelou75 x

Bucksfizzy · 22/02/2012 22:01

Hi Leelou,

Doing ok thanks.... Definitely eating less still. On Sunday I had this weird stomach ache like I'd done a load of situps, and it wasn't until later in the afternoon that I realised it could have been op pain.... Very odd :-). At first if I ate too much I was feeling a full high up in my chest... I don't seem to be experiencing that lately... Not sure if that's because it is wearing off, or whether I'm just not eating too much and I've also been staying away from heavy meals. I am doing the cd each day without fail....can't afford for it all to go wrong for the sake of 25 mins each day! Weight wise I did lose another 2 lbs on Monday morning, but have put it back on yesterday and today but I am building up to the TOTM .... But i'm not going to get too obsessed about it because I know for sure that I'm eating much smaller meals so it should eventually work!

Northend77 · 23/02/2012 14:08

Hi all
Have booked my first session - it's next Wednesday evening. Very excited!!

Bucksfizzy · 27/02/2012 13:53

Hi LeeLou - have you booked yourself in yet?

Leelou75 · 27/02/2012 19:23

Hi Bucksfizzy
I spoke to Wendy who is doing it for me last night nd where looking to start on Saturday 10th March :0) as I'm busy up until then with work/kids etc etc ...

How r u doing with ur sessions??..
Have ur eating habits changed much since starting ur journey??

I'm really looking forward to having done as it does seem to have some fantastic results !! I jst hope it works for me :0) xx

Bucksfizzy · 29/02/2012 15:45

Well done LeeLou,

so far so good, I've lost 11lbs so far - not a huge amount recently but I am definitely eating much less than before. My eating habits are certainly very different - only eating small meals now, on a desert plate. No snacking at all, doesn't even cross my mind, it's as if the chocolate and crisp machine at work no longer exists. I'm also drinking water like no tomorrow.... To be honest I'm not feeling the golf-ball bit really, but as long as I'm still eating smaller meals I don't really care. Perhaps that will change once I've been tightened up and had by butt kicked in the middle of march.

Good luck

Leelou75 · 01/03/2012 17:43

To Bucksfizzy

Well done you, 11lb is fantasic i bet ur so pleased with yourself as I know I would be :0)
It's good to hear ur eating less nd that the chocky n crisp craving have gone!!, chocolate nd Haribo's r my big down fall but I'm hoping I over come these cravings ..

Big well done's to you nd keep up the good work girl

Leelou75 xx

Hi ladies, I am having hyno band treatment. Had two sessions with my hypnotist however haven't actually been hypnotised yet, this friday is the first time and its for my pre-op! Would really be interested to hear how you are all getting on?

fleago · 21/04/2012 13:47

Just had last session yesterday and have lost 8lbs in 5 weeks.

Very pleased with how it's going and I'm finding it very natural and easy to do.

No longer thinking about food just eating when hungry, eating mindfully and stopping when satisfied,

Finding the CDs very relaxing, listen to them every second night.

Would like to hear how everyone else is getting on with it?

Has anybody, or does anybody know anybody, who had a hypnoband fitted and kept on seeing benefits for say 3 months or longer? I dont know anyone that it's worked for longer term, and even all the message board posts seem to be people raving about it at first, say for a few weeks.
I'd really like to know if this has ever worked long term for anyone.

Oh and I've reported the post above, by 'hypnoband' as spam.

Leelou75 · 27/05/2012 11:54

Smiler43 · 09/11/2012 13:04

Hello Ladies....Ive been loving these messages but they seem to have stoped? How are you all doing?
xx

Voodoocupcake · 31/03/2014 14:55

Well it all started off so positively I was almost convinced that it was worth it, but I guess by the 3rd or 4th session everyone stopped losing so didn't write anymore which is a shame really as would be nice to have got a whole rounded view on it. Wonder if any of you have successfully lost the weight and how or not and god if makes you feel knowing it didn't work? X

Logg1e · 31/03/2014 15:49

My sister-in-law just looked in to this. It was going to be £300 for four sessions and the CD. She had to commit to eating only three small, healthy meals a day and to listen to the CD every day for the rest of her life.

I think she would have gone for it if she could have afforded the £300.

Deedeelouise102 · 08/06/2014 23:36

Hello all
I have an appement tomorrow it's going to be my first session.
I have read so much about this but am still in to minds
I hope it really dose work for me. Just like everyone on here I have tyres so many things with not much luck. You see I have Polycystic ovary syndrome and a underactive thyroid just to top it all off. So really do fill like I am banging my head against a brick wall. I have to lose weight so I can have a baby and can only do this with IVF. Drs will not help me tell I lose 4 stone. I will write back to let you all no how it go's.
Dee xx

Deedeelouise102 · 10/06/2014 01:37
