I am just getting fatter and fatter so this morning I decided enough is enough and joined slimming world!

I have done various diets over the years, and my weight has yo yoed up and down!

Before DD2 (she is now nearly 2 and a half), I was my lightest for many years (11 and a half stone) after healthy eating/exercise/stress (nasty messy marriage breakup)!

But since then it has just gone up and I am my heaviest ever at 15st2 1/2 lbs this morning
I am only 5ft2in so this is pretty big and very unhealthy, my BMI is 39.1

I am so so aware of the health problems (I am a GP FFS), and very aware that my DD1 (nearly 9) is very aware that I am fat and unhealthy and my eating habits are crap!

So I need to do it now, I have scoffed the last 2 croissants in the house, will eat the curry already bought for tonight then that's it!!

Could do with some support/hints/advice/slimming world regulars please.........

I am too embaressed to go the gymn just yet, but have my trainers out for walking and have Wii fitness coach ready to go!!

First goal, 13st 9, 10% loss and back into my size 16's

i'm currently low carbing....wishing i had some divorce stress again,i lost loads back then!!

i have lost half a stone of a planned 4 stone loss

AitchTwoZone · 14/04/2010 16:14

come on the 'nothing tastes' thread. susylvester will give you a rollicking if you pig out. i've knocked a stone off already.

ClaireDeLoon · 14/04/2010 16:24

I have 4 stone to lose too like ThreeBlondeBoys and I'm 5lbs into it. I'm only a smidgeon taller than you and my BMI was 34.5 when I started and now I'm down to 33.6. I know it's a long way off healthy but it's going in the right direction.

With regard to exercise have a look in the 30 day shred thread, it's a fitness DVD and it only takes 30 mins a day. It is very hard work and I'm achey today (am only on day two of it) but am determined to see it through.

lots of luck!

GypsyMoth · 14/04/2010 16:33

my bmi is now 32.2 and i'm 5ft 11

unfortuanately being tall i carry the weight easily

i'm in size 16 but know from the past i cannot go lower than a 12....look like a rake!

twinkle183 · 14/04/2010 19:03

I would love to join....

Am 5ft 2ins and am now 11st 1lb down from 11st 7lbs... so 6lbs loss so far!

Am doing ww and exercising and am doing really well at the moment... but sometimes have problems with motivation! On the whole am doing well....

Good luck with everyones weight loss....

dizzydixies · 14/04/2010 19:06

good for you, I took this step in Dec and managed to lose 1.5stone however I now find myself pregnant with DC4 so have to stop the gym - do you have a Curves gym near to you? I loved mine - 30 minutes 3-4 times a week and all woman which was the best part. I'm now going to have to shove myself in a swim suit and start down that route and although taller than you, I am heavier than you and share the same BMI

good luck to you all

macdoodle · 14/04/2010 22:05

Thank you all
Despite saying I wasnt going to start officially till tomorrow, I have been a good girl today, and been fairly sensible (ie goodish curry, boiled rice, NO poppadums/naan), I dont feel deprived and am feeling mucho positive
Just have to keep away from snacking this evening, my big downfall...bread, cheese, bread, crisps, bread, chocolate, bread etc!!

Dizzy, I did Curves the last time I lost weight, and dropped from 15st to 11and half with Curves and healthy eating, I loved it too, though it did become a tad tedious after 9 months or so....
I don't really have the time or the money at the moment, but once I drop a bit of weight and DD2 starts nursery I will probably go back!!

dizzydixies · 14/04/2010 22:23

thats exactly why I did it - the guilt of the money made me go. I liked the fact that you go in and do the circuit without having to work out what area to work on etc etc and there were ladies in mine bigger than me doing it in their bare feet and jeans - made me feel more like a professional

mummymels · 14/04/2010 22:28

Hi macdoodle and everyone

Can I join you please? I have been dieting since October so have lost quite a bit already but I started off very similar to you and I still have more to lose to get to my goal. In October I started off at 14 stone 10 lbs and I am 5' 2". My weight also piled on since having my daughter who is also 2 1/2. I have lost 64.5 lbs already but still have a bit more to go.

macdoodle · 15/04/2010 07:05

Am feeling positive this morning, have measured my milk out am determined to do this properley!
Am enjoing my cup of tea withought my usual biscuits

Have a 40th birthday party in 6 weeks that I would really like to go to, a stone off by then doesnt seem impossible

Good luck everyone

Can I join in?

Read this and then weighed myself and am 14st and I'm 5ft8in.

So really would like to lose 3 1/2 st.

DD2 is 10 weeks old now and sleeping through(hurray!) so I think it's time I started doing something!

Will dig out my old WW books

macdoodle · 16/04/2010 07:23

Well I stuck to the first day, but although I had plenty to eat I did find it very hard, I had to pull myself up continually to stop snacking/picking!
I feel much better today, no heartburn or runs (sorry TMI)!
I kept a food diary, and it was so obvious how bad my eating habits had become!! Am hoping it will become easier as I get into the habit of just eating normally/healthy!

Am looking forward to my weigh in if I can keep going, am aiming for 4lbs off to get me under that horrid 15st mark

Hi Macdoodle,

Just wanted to give some support. I've given up on diets and am losing the Paul McKenna way, but do think Slimming World is a nice place to start as the food is delicious - really healthy, proper recipes for people who like food, and you lose weight so fast you can't work out how. I lost five pounds in the first week - it slowed a lot after that but was still pretty encouraging.

Good luck.

blondiep14 · 21/04/2010 09:21

Hi all, can I join please?
I am aiming to lose my baby weight from both DS1 (2y) & DS2 (3m).
Have a big family wedding at the end of July I want to look nice for and a long weekend with the boys in which I'll have to squeeze into a swimming cosie for at the end of June so a few targets.
Am going to go to my first ever SW meeting tomorrow which I am really nervous about!

jaabaar · 21/04/2010 09:37

Hi all, would like to join too!

I had lost 3 stones with Weight watchers but then put on this exact weight during my preganancy. My DD is now nearly 3 months and I just find it difficult to start!

It was fairly easy to loose all the weight with WW as you have no restrictions in what you eat! You learn how to cook the same foods but with lower calories and it really is an eye opener and gives good habits!

I have the christening in August and I am really stressed as have no clothes. I had thrown all my size 20 away.....

jaabaar · 21/04/2010 09:39

Claire
What is the name of that DVD? I have never tried excercise and was thinking of buying the WII but dont know how helpful WII is.

thanks.

mummymels · 21/04/2010 22:17

Macdoodle ? a stone in 6 weeks sounds very doable to me. Good luck. It sounds as if you have started off well. I found it really hard to start with too but if you can work through it, I promise it will get easier in a few days. How did your weigh in go today?

Hello to all the new people. What diets are you doing?

macdoodle · 21/04/2010 22:36

Thanks Lost 4 and half lbs so very pleased am under 15 stone
Had a bit of a cheat tonight - chinese takeaway but instead of eating tons deep fried and crispy duck, I hate chicken chow mein noodles
Aim is 3 this week

jaabaar · 22/04/2010 11:36

I am starting WW again. It worked for me very well in the past. It is just difficult to start......

mummymels · 22/04/2010 22:38

That's brilliant macdoodle, 4 1/2 lbs.

Yum chinese, I love crispy duck but it feels like ages since I have had it.

Good luck jaabaar. Once you get started you will be fine.

blondiep14 · 23/04/2010 08:30

well, I went to my firs SW meeting last night so begin today!
Good news is I weigh a bit less than I was expecting, still got 2 and a half stone to lose tho !
Am a bit confused by it all at the moment, going to write everything down so hopefully that will help me make sense of all this a and b options and syns and the like !

macdoodle may I join you? Our stats are very similar, I'm 5'2" and 15st4lbs - argh.

Well done on losing so much first week, I too am desperate to get back under the hideous 15st point.

DH has been stranded abroad this week and I have eaten all manner of shite but now it must stop.
I am developing sciatica in my right hip/bum which is incredibly painful but is also making me walk strangely. I am in danger of developing a waddle.
