Phew, glad it's not me that feels the chart is rather harsh. It's from the Su Sylvester school of charts!

If I was a man I would be allowed up to 10 stone before being deemed overweight. That seems grossly unfair.

Anyone know a, ahem, nicer chart I can use!?

CheeeseOnToast · 25/03/2010 13:00

Well done MamaGoblin!

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 25/03/2010 13:01

there's one on the bbc site that's pretty benign.

BariatricObama · 25/03/2010 13:04

they should have a hamster chart. according to the bbc i am not overweight but tbh the hamsters tell a different tale

MamaGoblin · 25/03/2010 13:04

That chart is mad - I'd have to be 7 st 10 lb to be 'ideal'.

Think the NHS BMI one is less harsh.

MamaGoblin · 25/03/2010 13:05

Thanks, Cheese! I bought a pedometer, too, since walking's the only exercise I get.

YoginiBikini · 25/03/2010 13:09

all the charts show me the same at the moment - overweight. gah!

Great to come here for a laugh though. makes losing weight fun

Don't be glum bobbie. You're doing well apart from the odd blip.

well done mamagoblin.

MamaGoblin · 25/03/2010 13:14

This one. According to that, I'm healthy at 9st 10. According to the other, I'd have to be 7 stone something. I think I'd stop ovulating if I were 7 stone anything!

thehillsarealive · 25/03/2010 13:50

mamagoblin - my pedometer is fab, i have a few - but this one does all sorts o things. It tells me things in Km, steps, calories burned etc not too sure how to use it all but i will read the instructions now.I dont 'get' KM or Kilos I need it in miles to understand how far i have walked. Off to convert it now.

I have no idea how healthy peanut butter is, but it is 'good' fats apparantly. 1tsp is fine for me as it isnt my fave thing.

oldenglishspangles · 25/03/2010 13:52

In the spirit of equality I selected gender :male -I am still overweight with an unhealthy BMI!

dinkystinky · 25/03/2010 13:55

Cheese - that chart is seriously off! In my first year of university I lost a lot of weight through the tequila/no-food student diet (aah, those were the - admittedly rather hazy for some reason - days...) and dropped down to what that chart says would be ideal weight band and was ill ALL THE BLOODY TIME (and my periods became v irregular so I agree with MamaGoblin, fertility would be affected) - acccording to the chart when I reach my goal I'll still be overweight but hey ho, I know what works for me and my build. and my lifestyle and will be fit, healthy and slim so yah-boo sucks to that stupid chart. Definitely stick with the good old BBC's one - as its funded by taxpayers money, good to see its doing something right

Bobbie - go veg-tastic today to make up for your blip and you'll be back on track. Think huge veg stirfry (with no points veg in it) for you tonight and lots of water to flush out that booze lurking in your system.

Ladyblahblah - LMAO at your lentil-related exploits. DH's farts have been known to have a similar effect on my kids. 4 days is definitely not right - must be a lentil blockade going on in there. Are you getting lots of other roughage in your diet? And drinking lots of water?

Just went to the gym and did bodycombat class (Thursday is my token exercise lots day) - according to gym scales have lost 2 lbs since joining this thread Must be the fear factor. Either that or the fact that I'd sweated half my bodyweight out during the class... Now eating a very boring soup...

MamaGoblin · 25/03/2010 13:58

... just had a reduced fat lemon sponge pudding from Waitrose (it was reduced). Still 3 points, but I DON'T CARE. God it was good. Will probably stop me from wanting to snack all afternoon.

dinkystinky · 25/03/2010 13:59

Do I hear klaxxons going off?

BecauseImWorthIt · 25/03/2010 14:01

If anyone has a new iPod Nano then they have a pedometer on them as well.

Undertone · 25/03/2010 14:04

Guys - gather round. I hope the following links works. I've been trying to find different ways to motivate myself. So I did a pie chart showing my progress. A low-fat-pie chart, obv.

Have a look at
this

Shows target weight as a proportion of total weight at beginning of diet, plus how much I've 'eaten' (ho ho) into the target loss section.

Overall, I'm 11% there! That's, like, over a tenth

I'll probably have some time at work spare this afternoon. Who wants theirs done? I'll need starting weight, target weight, and how much you've lost already. Then you can print out and put on your wall!

oldenglishspangles · 25/03/2010 14:07

Becauseimworthit - where is the pedometer? I have heard there is a nike thing you can attach?

Undertone · 25/03/2010 14:08

Damn - try that again: i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss261/Missfire_Ouch/Undertone.jpg

AuldAlliance · 25/03/2010 14:10

I am back from work, working at home after a late lunch of steamed veg, quinoa (finally finished the stuff I cooked the other day; a little seems to go a v long way) and ham.

Ham probably forbidden, or 35 points or something.

Went to supermarket on the way home, spent long time at the organic/diet/Gayelord Hauser shelf, none at the biscuit aisle. Found myself looking at weirdie things like agave syrup.

Mme Lindt, I don't really understand lbs, though I know what I used to weigh in stones before heading off to tropical climes a long time ago. Don't give in to the eurosceptics, I need some metric solidarity on here!

geordieminx · 25/03/2010 14:10

Undertone - that sounds fab - I cant see it on your link though.

Would def like a copy if you wouldnt mind

Am back from interv

CheeeseOnToast · 25/03/2010 14:11

link won't work undertone, but it sounds brilliant!!

Undertone · 25/03/2010 14:12

Does the second stab at the link not work either?!

geordieminx · 25/03/2010 14:13

Think ham is ok - small slice 15kcal or sommat...or at least the cheap stuff that I buy for dh's sandwiches is.. probably 90% water 10% trotters and tail

bobbiewickham · 25/03/2010 14:16

Veg stir fry good idea.

Can I put some prawns in it?

Undertone · 25/03/2010 14:17

Geordie - 100g of lean Sainsburys ham I have in my sandwich every day is only 84 calories. 100g is a good-sized chunk as well!
