My total weight loss in two weeks is 4.5lbs. I feel so pleased with myself only about 28 more pounds to go.

mmmmm should I reward myself with a chocci biscuit?? or should I stick with the ww fruitie sweets???????????

Does anyone know how many points are in chinese takeaway salt and pepper chicken wings and crab claws? Was good with my takeaway but shared these. PC that curry sounds interesting, how do you make that? Fifilala- i know exactly how you feel. been stuck now for a couple of weeks now and been losing all motivation. I've done it before so i know i can do it again but its so hard!

linnywith2 · 01/10/2005 12:30

hi everyone.. God lots of new comers this week welcome one and all..
i've finally done it.. reached and passed my goal nooow im 9-13.5 lbs and officially a gold member of ww.. have to pinch myself to make sure its not a dream!!! ideally i wud like to be 9-7 and im strongly thinking of going for it, hey i got this far i can lose anothe 6.5 lbs right?
only problem is dh.. he was so thrilled for me when i got to goal, but now tells me enough is enough, my family and friends agree with him..
stuck between a rock and a hard place now..
dont want to upset anyone but feel that i would look so much better at 9-7..
Dior.. you must have gone through this did you?

Dublindee.. are you from dublin?

for all that are struggling atm i'll offer few words of wisdom that have worked for me..
this has been my 5th or 6th attemt at ww (lost track) what has worked for me this time and not other times is i've fitted ww into my life rather than fitting my life into ww..
i dont feel that im depriving myself anymore as i've discovererd so many delicious treats that i can have rather than focusing on what i cant..
started out size 14-16 and am now 10-12..
and i'll leave you with this thought..
Nothing tastes nicer than being slim..

linnywith2 · 01/10/2005 12:36

Linnywith2,

Congratulations on your goal! Thanks also for welcoming new members and giving motivation to those of us who are currently struggling. I badly needed a bit of support and you are the only person who has responded in any way to my messages, so cheers for that.

I am greatly inspired by the fact you had to try, try and try again BUT got there in the end. Do you mind me asking how much you've lost in total and over how long? My problem is I just can't keep focused on WW for too long, before I go sod it, and get off plan.

As for your deciding to lose some more weight...Well, I guess your husband and friends are worried you will never be satisfied. I know I would be the same - wanting to get just that bit slimmer - but I think the main goal for you now is to keep the weight off and learn how to maintain. I would enjoy your success for the time being. If you carry on making the changes you have incorporated into your life, maybe you will lose a bit more. But I wouldn't specifically set out to do so. The more you lose, the harder it's going to be to keep it off in a way, so I would just aim to maintain for the moment. But what do I know? I'm very, very far from my goal!

Dior, I think it was quite clear from Linny's message that she wanted to lose more weight!! I have questions for you - you said you need to lose 7.5 lbs. I assume leaders have to stick to their goal or a certain weight range? What happens if you don't? How come you need to lose weight if you are, presumably, a very experienced WW? I'd be interested to know what potential pitfalls are when trying to maintain!

my word you go away for five days and look what happens lots of lovely new people and linny reaches her goal! Hi everyone and well done linny.

I haven't had chance to do mor than skim read but also have not been well behaved !! So back to writing everything I eat down and intense gym activity which is the best way for me to loose weight as I have been in my plateau hell for ages. What I do think is that It is easier to quit than to carry on, but you have got nothing to loose (bar £5)by continuing if nothing else ww is a fabulous life style management tool so what is the point in giving up when you have come so far. I am rambling!

dublindee · 03/10/2005 10:47

Linnywith2 - yes I'm from Dublin, but have been living in North Wales since October last year and am loving it! I do miss home -but not homesick if that makes sense?- as most of friends and and all my family still there (being Irish there's a ton of us so it takes a bit of getting used to not having them all around!) But enough about me..... Congrats you on reaching your goal! Best girl I can't wait to join you - but please don't hold your breath as I have a long ways to go!

As for losing more do what feels good for you - if you'd be more comfortable in yourself then lose more, if you just want it as a buffer for "insurance" then I wouldn't be so keen.

TaiTai · 03/10/2005 11:44

Hi
I didn't follow the plan last week (had a 'what the Hell?' attitude) but still lost one pound. I know that I can't get away with that every week and I had stepped up my exercise and did try to eat healthily most of the time, so that was probalby why I lost.

I'm back writing it all down and exercising like Ark. I have a question though. If I'm cooking something, I meticulously count out my points beforehand to make sure I have enough. Thing is, then I just want to eat the whole lot because I have counted the points! I feel I should be learning to stop when I'm full. Any tips from those more experienced about this? Cheers.

ark · 03/10/2005 11:51

learning to stop when full - tricky - I put small portions on my plate - firstlty what I think i shoudl eat that way when you help your self to more you are making a conscious decision to have more not just eating for the sake of it. hth

TaiTai · 03/10/2005 12:05

thanks, ark. So do you tot up your points after eating, or do it before then estimate what percentage you had? I'm on the Full Count plan, and like the flexibility of it so do not want to go onto No Count.

ark · 03/10/2005 12:55

i figure what I want to eat before hand, and then add additional points if i eat more. I track my points day starting in the evening - as this iswhen i spend the most points, that way I can shave off points the next day at breakfast or lunch if necessary.

pjsmum · 04/10/2005 11:47

well stayed the same thisweek, suprised at that to be honest feel like i've put weight on. I've got to hand in my tracker next week, feel like i've got homework!! Well done to those losing and keep at it for those struggling.

fifilala · 04/10/2005 12:36

Not got weighed yet, but having a really good week, seem to have got "my head back in gear"

Dior, Thanks for the good advice. My husband and I both cook well and make healthy dinners with lots of veg, but like you, my problem is eating too much of the delicious dinners and snacks. I like to snack! I really need to learn to stop when I am full. Last week I meticulously counted the points for a meal I made, then halfed it. I ate my full half, even though I was eating beoyond satisfying my hunger, purely because I had counted my points beforehand and I am anal about counting them accurately. Self-destructive, I know! But it is easy to work out the points for a full portion, not so easy to guess if I don't eat it all.

linnywith2 · 04/10/2005 21:08

Hi everyone.. many thanks for all the pats on the back.. you're all very sweet..
Dior.. i do want to lose another 6.5 lbs and its because i feel (A) i can and (B)i feel i need to, make sense? dh is watching me like a halk tho and its really irritating me, god, im a grown adult and wont starve myself! ah i know he means well but he's a bit ott atm..

tai tai.. i also find it very hard to stop when im full, im a pig and really cant (or choose not to) recognise the feeling of fullness,

DublinDee, i too am from the emerald isle.. nice to see another irish bird in the room!

cant remember now who asked me how much i've lost and how long its taken to lose it..
my total loss so far is 34.5 lbs, started on 1st april this year, so thats 6 months i guess?
i can identify with anyone who finds it hard to stick to a diet or as this ts, a healthy eating plan, have tried loads of different diets, from atkins, gi, herbal shakes, you name it and i've done it, ww is the only one that worked (eventually) so stick with it!!!

linnywith2 · 04/10/2005 21:13

oh and well done fifilala..
nothing like it is there, old clothes falling off ya! no matter what it says on scales, thats huge progress, you go girl!

PeachyClair · 04/10/2005 21:54
