ah ah ah on the diet coke front. there was some specialisty person on the telly recently saying that they make you hungry because the brain tastes the sweetness and then makes preparations to deal with the sugar, so when the sugar doesn't come it basically really makes you want to eat to make up the perceived deficit.

brimfull · 20/03/2010 18:00

hmm interesting about the sugar/diet coke thing
makes me want crisps and nuts

right have glass of red wine already and haven't gone out yet -shit

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 20/03/2010 18:03

jockoland. egg in a cup is delicious. salt and pepper, yum. excellent use of eggs that are just a bit past soft boiled so beyond the reach of a soldier.

evening all, applause to cyb for wonderful speech and to su for admirable restraint, tho less admirable in view of being restraint in PH, which isn't really all that hard (sorry)

ok ish day so far...not holding out high hopes for tonight

signed our lives away to the gym today, we have been members, left, joined again, joined a different one, decided just to run etc etc but signed up again today, with promises to mak sure we get our money's worth (I have a feeling this may invovle actually living there)

then the dreaded sat pm retail park which was like hell on earth and reminded me why I never go

enjoying nice low fat white wine now

cyb · 20/03/2010 19:35

I made a lasagne the size of a lilo tonight but only had a portionas big the palm of my hand, supplement with green salado and a small glass vino rose.

I passed on the delicious, moist, chewy tomato and parmesan bread I had made.

AND the bun with a cherry on top that dh had for pudding I dont know why he likes them so much

duckyfuzz · 20/03/2010 19:38

god cyb you are saintly!

no such virtue here, I am sticking to my good in the week, ease up at the weekends mantra that has worked for me so far

cyb · 20/03/2010 19:46

I wish I could afford to relax like that, but I just cant, not yet. its all or nothing for me, I know what I'm like! (i.e a greedy bugger)

Flame · 20/03/2010 20:11

Seriously.

84 posts. I only went out for an afternoon ffs! You lot are typing instead of eating.

Alas I have already fallen off the wagon by way of choc fingers

But I ran to meet DS today and felt good. I have lost about 6lb over the last however long, and although I still have the 8lb to go, I am wibbling less, I am more energetic and I feel better in general. You wouldn't think going from 12/14 to 10/12 would have such an effect.

SuSylvester · 20/03/2010 20:16

but that is the thign about pizza hut
you knwo tis vile but the smell etc

Well, you are all so good. I haven't partaken of alcohol but have just finished a sudocrem and fish finger sandwich (brown bread). Sudocrem being on the burnt finger from the oven tray. Oven obviously giving me punishment for eating fish fingers !!

noddyholder · 20/03/2010 20:28

i love fish fingers

YoginiBikini · 20/03/2010 20:31

Everyone seems to have been busy here this afternoon.

My afternoons story -
Ducks disappeared a couple of days ago, thought foxes had taken them. While out walking earlier we spotted them on the other side of the village. Only thing for it was to traipse across gardens, get in water and shoo them all the way home in the water. Took forever! Dc thought it was great. They're always asking to play in the water and we're always telling them they have to wait til summer and water is warmer. So in the pouring rain and up to knees in water, higher for littlies we herded them home. Hurray! Think they were looking for a girl or two - they're all male and obviously went out on the pull. But they're home and safe. Hurray!

Anyway, is that a good enough excuse for a 'celebratory' glass or two of champagne? Promise I won't eat much

lulalullabye · 20/03/2010 20:31

We have just moved back from Australia where the fish fingers were naff ! Hence the new addiction

glasjam · 20/03/2010 20:39

I have had roasted chicken drumsticks, veg, feta and rice tonite and passed on the Vienetta (the boys of the house very partial to it and it's very cheap)

Tried on the GAP dress that LeSinge was wearing yesterday and was very disappointed that it didn't look that good on me. Saved myself some money. Will leave any major clothes purchasing until I lose another stone I think. Pity all the clothes I have at the moment are so crap.

Am in need of a haircut too and a colour but am being very slack on that front - can't bear that staring at your own reflection whilst some young thing looks on with pity or disinterest.

Oh my God what a whinger - you have permission to give me a virtual slap

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2010 21:05

Am I allowed to join at this late stage of the game?

YoginiBikini · 20/03/2010 21:18

Lula fish fingers aren't so bad - from a vets point of view anyway - they always tell you to feed a sick animal on fishfingers. Does that make you feel any better?

Ouch to the sudocrem finger

Glasjam. I also need to not buy anything for a while. Can't wait til I go in to try something on and think wow!
My hairdresser was chatting the other day about her 'daft old dad' and how embarrassing he is. I was laughing along until she revealed that he is my age! How did that happen? I feel so much younger than I am, mostly anyway.

Hi LTEC are you losing?

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2010 21:26

not much to go tbh - dc3 is nearly 6mo old.. I am 2lb above my pre-preg weight at the mo but figure it wouldn't be a bad idea to lose a wee bit more ... just to give me a margin for error And would nice to have some company on the way.

I am a clothing/ style/ fashion fiend and fully embrace the too-thin look - I know that's a terrible thing to say. I tut tut when I see it in mags but love it when I start to resemble similar ..

Am I still allowed to join?

fishie · 20/03/2010 21:41

yogbik your lifestyle is very far from mine.

morrisons frozen mushy peas are marvellous. as was my lentil curry although there is rather a lot of it.

glasjam which dress? i have got the flowery grey one and the drawstring bag grey one. i like sacky grey dresses and gap do supply me well.

glasjam · 20/03/2010 22:14

Fishie - it's black, round-neck, short-sleeved, kind of A-line with two pockets in a thick, heavy jersey (probably not describing it well) Looked lovely, but not on me! Just felt a bit stiff and frumpy. I was in a bit of a rush so didn't get to have a good look at other stuff. I too am a sacky dress gal but if I shift enough weight might be persuaded into something a bit more shapely and fitted (with the necessary foundation garments of course )

cyb · 20/03/2010 22:15

I'm really craving a snack tonight...someone talk me down

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 20/03/2010 22:19

Hello Cakey and welcome. You're doing very well on the weight front.

Will someone please tell me how to make egg in a cup? Sounds yummy and intriguing.

Exercised as usual - ate; yog plus fruit, omelette, steak and chilli corn salsa/rocket salad. Did have a slice of low gi carrot cake which was a bit norty but still within calorie allowance.

2 people said im looked "trim" today which I think roughly translates as less fat. Which is good isn't it?

cyb · 20/03/2010 22:21

yes porridge its great to be called trim! I love the word TRIM very old fashioned. I am really hungry atm. I think I will have a cuppa tea

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 20/03/2010 22:22

Don't do it Cyb - think of all the lovely compliments you're getting.

cyb · 20/03/2010 22:23

thanks, cuppa tea it is
