Hi did anyone see the program the other week I think it was called 'My Big Fat Diet' or something like that.

Essentially it involves eating 1200 Kcals per day for 2 weeks. 300 Kcals for breakfast, 400 kcals for lunch and 500 kcals for dinner.

I know it may sound a bit faddy but I know that if you reduce your calorie intake and do some exercise then you loose weight.

I just need some motivation and some boundaries and I am hoping this approach might help me to stop snacking and reduce my portion sizes. I am also keen to get results. I am 5"4 and weight approx 10 stone. I will weigh in tomorrow am. I want to loose about a stone in the first instance.

I am starting tomorrow and plan to do this for 2 weeks. Anyone saw the program and want to join me?

madhairday · 25/01/2010 18:42

How's everyone doing - hope you're avoiding those pasties Tetty
Leo well done on the weight loss, brilliant.
I'm much better now and am eating again. Seem to have stabilised at 9st 10lb over last couple of days but still may put some back on again, if not I'm pretty pleased with this and will go easy on it now, would still like to lose a few more pounds.
Have been good today....but dh is out and there is chocolate in the house...

TettyLouBar · 01/02/2010 19:54

Well, I wasn't very well behaved as far as my calorie limit whilst back in Cornwall and only managed to stay at the same weight due to using my in-laws cross trainer every morning whilst I was down there! Thank god I did!
Back on it today! Mon 1st Feb - new start. Christmas food all gone from the cupboards. Booze all drunk. Choccies all eaten. New Davina dvd just calling my name from the shelf.... this is it. I'm gonna get the final 7 lbs off.

TettyLouBar · 01/02/2010 19:56

Er... miscalculated there, 11 lbs not 7...

soursusan · 01/02/2010 21:12

I've been following the diet but sticking to 1500 cals a day rather than 1200 - too drastic . The trouble I'm having is what to eat in the evening, breakfast is usaully cereal, lunch a sandwich (fine), but in the evnings I end up having eggs/fish/salad combo - abit boring. What does everyone else have? I need some inspiration...........

TettyLouBar · 02/02/2010 14:03

I normally make a usual meal (e.g. spag bol, shepherds pie, tuna pasta, chicken breasts steamed and veg, baked fish in breadcrumbs etc) and give DD and DH normal portions. Then I usually replace most/alot of my carbs with steamed mixed veg (broccoli, carrot batons and sweetcorn/big salad) but I always have a little of the carbs so I dont feel like I'm missing out.
If its something I'm not sure about and want to count the calories to see what size portion I should have then I use Food Focus website to work out what size portion I can have.
I dont religiously count evening meal calories. I just make sure that I have atleast 350 left before evening meal to see me through the evening.

(I loosley stick to 1200 but my limit is 1400...ish)

soursusan · 02/02/2010 15:43

Thanks, I'll try this, I hate cooking the family a nice meal, knowing that my dinner is going to be tinned mackeral .....

TettyLouBar · 03/02/2010 13:32

blugh! tinned mackeral! [shudder]
Soup goes down a treat in our house. I have a fab soup recipe book Look at this
DH loves having thick soup and loads of slimmers garlic bread with it for tea, and it fills you up a treat!

mummytotwins · 05/02/2010 00:33

can I join!?!?

I started this about a week ago and have only lost 2lb, I have stuck to my 1200 cals (but I eat erratically, my 2 year old twins dont let me sit down really for breakfast or lunch!!) and I burn 250 cals a day on the wii fit. Is it my erratic eating times thats hindering me?

Hoep you are all managing to shed the pounds more successfully than me!

TettyLouBar · 05/02/2010 13:28

Hello mummytotwins!
Well Ive managed to Davina again this morning (In desperate need of it as I had two glasses of white wine last night) havent got on the scales this week yet, am hoping for 2 lbs loss, fingers crossed.
