Inches are better in my book.

hotterpotter · 08/02/2010 22:18

Hello everyone

Feeling like I have been awol despite posting last night, have got my PMT half way through my period again and feeling very fed up Has anyone else's period got much heavier post-DC? I am bleeding like a stuck pig at the moment and it's not any fun, although surprisingly not too painful. Think my fibroid must have multiplied, oh I am getting old

Anyway food OK today apart from one small biscuit. Even remembered to eat an apple on the way to asda to avoid the dizziness and chocolate remedy of last week. Found out the display thingy on my bike had just come unplugged so have done 14 miles tonight.

Loti welcome home sounds like you had a fab time!

VG I hope the diet doesn't turn you into a vegetarian I can't believe you've been doing it for 11 days already!

Dizzy glad you are feeling better now

Cyteen excellent work re cake-avoidance

Albs well done on the -2lb, it's so worth it isn't it when you see the scales start to go down

sazz wow a boozy weekend and still the same, that's great news, well done! I won't say what my weigh in this morning revealed but suffice to say I was not the same. Blaming it on toast and period...

Sorry if I've bored you all to sleep there

morning ..

opposite of you hots re period.. i get bad cramping the days leading up to my period but not heavy.. had them last night and this am and they are doing my head in.. feel so tired too...

hoping that if my hospital appointment doesn't take to long with make it to the gym to burn some calories/frustration but not looking hopefully .. will seriously have to watch what i eat this week in the hope of any loss by fri!!

burned 440kcls of worry and frustration at the gym woo hoo.. did stepper/cross trainers/power walk/tiny run..

can i just say that i am in awe of vg/sazz to be able to run 10k or thereabouts.. couldn't even manage one..

and hots 14 miles ... so impressed by your determination..

dizzy inches off is fantastic.. then when your clothes start feeling loose ..

2lbs down ALBS awesome!!!

cyteen · 09/02/2010 12:44

hotter obviously I only have one DC but I found that when ttc him, the heaviness and painfulness of my period was directly proportional to how much I had convinced myself I was pregnant that month

Everyone is doing so well My eating habits are better so far: today I've had small bowl of branflakes with banana and semi-skimmed, 1.5 rice cakes with home made hummus, and a mackerel/brown rice/peas/pepper/spring onion salad dressed with lemon juice that was DELICIOUS.

Ooh, DP has inadvertently done me a favour. I cracked and went to get the last 3 Mini Eggs that were in the cupboard...they were gone! I'm sure he was only thinking of me when he did it

VintageGardenia · 09/02/2010 16:04

Nope I find my periods now slightly lighter (the first 4 or 5 post ds2 were dire) and with less associated pain / headache etc which is great.

Ran 8K this morning but felt v sluggish possibly due to period... yikes I have to find something to blame - cos I have to run 10K on Sat and am a bit worried I'll end up walking it!

cyteen how thoughtful of your dp, mine makes just that sweet gesture with the Jaffa Cakes.

dizzydixies · 09/02/2010 17:58

work today but been gym after and now ruining all my hard work by eating chocolate homewheat

I managed bowl of cheerios at 6am/ fruit & yogurt for brekker at 8.20/ boots shaper chocolate bar at 12pm/ salad and chicken at 1:30 and then home for homewheat

alittlebitshy · 09/02/2010 19:08

forgive me for I am about to sin.

tis my NCT takeaway night tonight. you know i love takeaway as much as (more than?) the next (wo)man but I am stressing about it in relation to weight loss. I know i should just chill and enjoy it, but i think that years of f*cked up eating (basicaly anorexic at uni; gradually getting normalise then this over eating since H and if I am honest, before him too) have made me feel confused/guilty. waaaah.

dizzydixies · 09/02/2010 19:27

ALBS, remember what Sazz (oh wise one) said before - this is not meant as a punishment, we're just here to encourage and help out

I am having a plate of oven chips for tea - I've had it, DD1 still up and I just want something quick and easy with lashings of vinegar

don't deny yourself a simple pleasure by feeling guilty throughout it otherwise there is just no point

cyteen · 09/02/2010 19:54

Mmmm, lashings of vinegar. dizzy, you know the score

albs totally agree with dizz. Last night I ate three chocolate digestives after dinner, but I didn't feel guilty about it. The bad eating habits I'm trying to change are the ones that lead to all-or-nothing indulgence (except I never get to the nothing part ). Nowt wrong with enjoying oneself, food is a fundamental part of human life and should be pleasurable as such. Savouring the odd takeaway isn't a crime, it's how it fits into your overall pattern of eating that makes a difference Have a lovely time tonight.

hotterpotter · 10/02/2010 09:12

Am a big lover of oven chips too, especially McCain Homefries, hot with lots of salt and vinegar, mmmmm

Goodish with food yesterday, and 14 miles again on my bike which I am quite pleased about as only got on it at 9pm due to sister visit. This morning's weigh has me within a whisker of last Friday so may just squeeze in 0.5lb on Friday if I am good with the water tomorrow. That'll be fine by me after my carb-fest at the weekend

luckoftheirish · 10/02/2010 12:05

The office is awash with commiseration biscuits and cake today...I have touched not a one [proud]

It doesn't sound like much, but the mindless shovelling of sweet things into my mouth every day is something I really want to tackle. Eating a couple of biscuits after dinner is okay by me; eating half a packet of biscuits because I'm bored at work is not.

dizzydixies · 10/02/2010 18:15

floors scrubbed and gym this morning, then spent afternoon trudging round charity shops in St Andrews looking for tea cups/saucers so that should hopefully weigh out the fishfinger and chip tea

I left dh in charge of cooking the dinner and he wasn't to know I'd snuck chips last night as they're something I NEVER have - meeting tonight
