Here we are, thanks Cyteen for the excellent title although it's slightly false advertising on my part

well done on the ru/swim sazz!!

two very energetic walks for me today pushing the buggy so an hour and a bit in total.. thinking of having a go on the bike later if i can be motivated!!

dh has rid the cupboards of all nibbles so at least i have a partner in crime!

alittlebitshy · 25/01/2010 18:57

when did i last stop by? .

you're all doing sooooooooooooooooo well. and there is me, still at 12stone and 5ft2. Some people at church have just started a weigh and pray sesh on a sat am which is going to be fab for motivation, and I am trying to rein in the crap diet. actually, i have a good general diet - it is crap snacks after lunch/in the evning.

hope to stay a bit longer this time.

[sheepish]

Welcome back ALBS .

HAve you tried not buying snacking food? Or would the rest of your family be very cross? I find I can avoid snacking if I don't have any crisps/biscuits/sweets in the house, and am on a strict No bread from Monday to Friday so that doesn't really leave much to snack on, apart from fruit which is OK. Also drink more water! And ExerSazz as much as you can. Speaking of which, it's biking time for me...

15 miles in 37.28 , that's nearly a minute quicker than last week May have to add another mile next week.

Can someone remind me about heart rate though, what am I supposed to get it up to? Finally worked out that the pulse-o-meter clips on my ear , but I could barely get it above 110 despite really going for it. Saying that though, it also tells me my 37.5 minutes of brisk cycling has burned fewer than 100 calories so maybe there is a slight malfunction somewhere...

Wondering if it's too late just to have a quick look at the pilates dvd. DH will think I have flipped

hi ALBS

VG - night away for you and DP sounds wonderful when is the belfast one? If its the same weekend as I'm coming for Pearl Jam then I'll come over and do it with you!!

Sazz - I doubt very much its been the new trainers, they've not been out the box yet Xmas Blush I didn't get a chance to go today as had to wait in on central heating bloke (much use that did us) but am going tomorrow. determined to go 3 times this week again

hi hots

dizzydixies · 26/01/2010 12:04

18wk wait for physio so think I will be self referring to the osteopath in the meantime

gym this morning for me again which went ok regardless of hip and a good weigh in remarkably - will check again tomorrow as from tomorrow I'm on nights so I won't be weighing in first thing on Fri as it will be last thing for me lol

luckoftheirish · 26/01/2010 13:14

well done dizz at the gym and weight loss ..

been to my one-to-one pilates, express step and all over body classes... so tired now!!

tried on the feckin dress for sat night.. its indecently short and see thru ... legs don't look fantastic so more classes for me tom and thurs in a vain attempt to allow a miracle to happen....

sazz i also indulged in a glass of wine after a day from hell with the los

School night wine that way alcoholism pringles realxation lies really I am just . Anyway that was last night...

Been very busy today, had a half-hour go at pilates at lunchtime. Was OK although hard to know if I am doing it properly, seemed mainly to be about breathing and clamping pelvic floor muscles, which will be good if I ever do get pg again... Also swept the front path and the decking, washed all the downstairs windows inside and out, did a bit of weeding, then done another 15 miles in 37.26 so 2 seconds quicker, I really had to go for it at the end and am knackered now

Dizzy 18 weeks is a long time to wait hope you find a good osteopath who may be able to help you instead. Well done on your continuing loss, you're doing really well

Loti at your intensive gymming! I hope it works, or that your new yellow dress is lovely.

Sazz work just gets in the way doesn't it although I find that what I lose in time to exercise I gain in reduced opportunity for snacking

VG your night in a hotel sounds lush

morning ..

i am going to through out the feckin scales .. had a sneaky look this am and still the very same.. would be great if i was just maintaining but so hard when i need to lose..

its so hard sazz when youy have to fit work in as well as look after los and get time to exercise hugs..

well hoping to go to a body attack and mature movers which i am promised isn't for the old ladies ...

dress arrives on fri hots so will wait and see

Hope the dress arrives, is fab and fits!

Sazz I do so sympathise on the lack of time, I felt like that all through December, dying to get moving and completely unable to get free enough to do it, it's really frustrating.

Hots your biking is fantastic & well done on the pilates too, I have a second class tomorrow but could only get the creche from 10.30, and it starts at 10 . Like you though I was wondering was I doing it properly because I didn't really feel anything.

Dizz the Belfast one is 30th May, 5K, Stormont. 18wks is a bonkers wait for a physio! Good for you for gym attendance anyway.

My backside is really aching this morning! Can't see how it could be the running at this stage. Ran 6K very very slowly yesterday - 44 mins - with walks in between - felt like absolute slug. DP (expert) says your legs go a bit leaden if you're underhydrated. I feel it may also happen if you are underfit...

luckoftheirish · 27/01/2010 11:30

only managed boby attack this am 1hr of pure cardio so i cannot move now!!! off to get waxed in a bit.. maybe that will lose me an oz or 2!!!

dizzydixies · 27/01/2010 18:10

was waxed today too, another gym session and sod all to eat as slept this morning in prepeartion for tonight

have also asked to be referred to the work occupational health/physio as I should be seen quicker (few days) hopefully - work was not fun last night due to the pain fecking hip

VG PJ concert is 23rd June and I can't afford to come over twice this year, maybe next year

sorry for brief post - you're all doing really well

hotterpotter · 27/01/2010 20:57

No ExerSazz due to getting distracted on Rightmove so drinking water instead and going to have an early night to build up stamina for tomorrow.

No extra weight gone on but I am feeling really fat at the moment honestly my tummy has popped right out, with the right (wrong?) top on I look several months pregnant This precedes Sunday's activities so no idea wtf is going on there

Ewww yes I think I may still have a bit of abdominal separation but it is not horrific and doesn't really explain the massive roll of fat below my waist It seems like the fat is melting off my top half and settling on my lower half or maybe as it goes from my back and sides I just notice it more on the front???

Well done on the swim Sazz

VG maybe your bum is in sympathy for Dizzy's hip too

Loti hope you have recovered from your mad cardio

Albs are you there??????

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 28/01/2010 07:27

Hi all not much to report just checking in. Rowed 6K and ran 2K yesterday because my bum and Achilles tendons were just too sore to run properly.

dizzy that's good you'll be able to see someone at work. Shame about the dates but it will leave you free to enjoy your weekend properly! What are you doing at the gym & is it ok to do it with dodgy hip? Hope work not dire.

Sazz good to hear you got your swim in .

LOTI hoping all your cardio stuff will pay off, sounds as if you've done loads.

Potsy maybe it's just your changing shape, are you very much more toned in the upper torso? So you just feel there is more of a difference?

hope you feel better vg sounds painful..

sazz maybe i am not eating enough if that is possible?? i am a bit of a nibbler you see and i seem to snack the entire day and into the evening.. been like this pretty much since dd2 was born.. the old grab and run food.. have had beans on toast for brunch today so will try a new tactic..

went to body combat today.. much punching and leg kicking.. not great for my bad back but boy did it make me sweat..

so 4 exersazz completed this week.. will try and do a little dancing at the 70s on sat night..

dreading tom weigh in.. unless a miracle happens it will be the second week of nanda .. stomps off hating new scales...

alittlebitshy · 28/01/2010 14:32

Yes hots i am here .

no exersazz to talk of - though i walked a mile to and from toddler group yesterday so that may count. Food going ok.

So far today i have had: ready brek (with 2 tsps sugar but hey, i stay fuller on porridge.ready brek than other cereals/toast both of which would have sugar content so...), was hungry after school run so had an Alpen Light bar [polishes halo]. at NCT only had 2, no biccies (ds made up for my abstention). Lunch was left over cous cous dish /courgette and half a piece of trout, an apple and a clementine. Dinner tonight will be spag bol.

for first time ever i have invested in that odd Fry light stuff. was v as i swear by olive oil but it seems ok for now.

I know i ought to ExerSazz but no idea how/when/where. No money to join a gym /would not be happy leaving ds in a creche even if the one nearest to us had one. Don;t have a lot of time when dh can reliably have the dcs.... hmmm.

luckoftheirish · 28/01/2010 14:50

well done on the food front albs.. and sazz says 1/2 hour of brisk exercise is 1 exersazz so maybe your walk yesterday could be one??

also what about getting an exercise dvd that you could do at night/when ds is napping??

VintageGardenia · 28/01/2010 19:17

albs know what you mean about being hard to get the exercise time alone. If ds is still happy in his pram / buggy could you schedule in an hour's walk a day? CAn be boring, I know. There are buggy fit sessions in some places, maybe you could start one if there isn't one near you? I'll check for a link, I was thinking about doing one before I joined up where I am at the mo.
