Hiya, I had a baby in July and I have been gorging ever since in the false belief that I can eat what I want since I am breastfeeding Well no weight is shifting (surprise surprise) so as from tomorrow I am cutting out the crap and going to try to eat healthily again.

I am currently 9st 10.5 lbs and aiming to lose about a stone to get back into my pre pregnancy clothes. Anyone want to join in the fun?

hiya, I've not been good at all over the weekend . After the curry incident of Friday night I kept it going all weekend- Sat night we went to SIL's for dinner (another curry, lots of crisps, desert, choccies etc) then yesterday I polished off the rest of DH's birthday cake! I'm trying to be good again now it's a new week though. So far today I've had weetabix & cheerios for brek, and 3 oatcakes & cheese and a cup a soup for lunch.

Good plan with the massage Charlotte, I think I might do the same!

lol i dont think there is any harm having a few naughty days, your only human.

I had a slice of toast for breakfast and soup and a roll for lunch..... got peckish mid afternoon and ate some cous cous so Im only goign to have a light tea tonight.

could do with going to the supermarket as theres not a whole lot in.... could do with some biccies.... when i know i have an orio wating for me in the evening once the kids are in bed i tend to binge less.

note to self must drink more!

LittleMissMummy · 21/09/2009 22:48

Hi there,

Hope you dont mind me dropping in - was wondering if I could join?!

My DD was born in May this year and think I really need to lose my big belly !

Dont have any scales but think I might be about 11st 7lbs (think I was about 11st 3lbs before I was pregnant but I have a big post-pregnancy tummy now!).

I really hope to lose about a stone. Although Im not one for counting calories (tried it before and didnt work plus having a 4month old, there's no chance of me sitting down and writing everything out and working out all the cals!)

Think I will just eat healthy and cut down on my portion size - thats my main problem, Im so greedy!

Will weigh myself at DP's parents house at the weekend and check my exact weight

Sounds like everyone is doing really well so far!

Its my DP's 30th party in Nov so will hopefully lose some weight before that!

Hope its ok that I dropped in!

Thanks

spookycharlotte121 · 22/09/2009 18:59

welcome to the club littlemiss!

I dont think anyone of us is on a diet of sorts here.... were just eating healthily so your in the right place.

I have a total blip last night and had a massive chocolate pudding and loads of oreo's but today i have been very good and am jut tucking into a jacket potatoe with cottage cheese.

need to get out tomorrow and do some exercise.

hope everyone is staying focused

ilikeyoursleeves · 22/09/2009 20:30

Welcome Little Miss! Glad to have you on board, your DP's party is ages way yet so loads of time to see some results! As Charlotte says we're not on a particualr diet or anything, just cutting back a bit on the snacks n stuff.

Well I was amazed this morn at my weigh in (esp after my weekend of bingeing) cos I'm now 9st 3.75lb! So another 2lb loss this week, it must be all the breastfeeding and walking about with the sling that's helping, yippeeee!

How's everyone else? Well done Charlotte on getting back on track after your blip- I must admit I've been crap today as a reward for losing weight (hmmmmm maybe that's not what I'm meant to do eh) and had supernoodles for lunch and 2 packets of crisps, as well as the usual breakfast and a huge smoothie this morn. Then I had alicante rice and apple crumble with custard for dinner. I've just bought a multipack of mars bars too when I was at the shop there argh! I think I might have one later but try to stop at that!!! I'd usually have 2 if they were there

OP posts:
ilikeyoursleeves · 22/09/2009 22:33

argh....

2 hours later and I have eaten 2 mars bars AND another 2 packets of crisps! See what happens when DH goes out and I'm left alone with the cupboards?! It's all his fault...!

Right, must get to bed now before any more damage is done.

Will try to be better tomorrow!

OP posts:
spookycharlotte121 · 22/09/2009 22:40

If you like mars bars then you should get the snack size ones. Get dp to hide them and then when you want your little treat in the evening you can send him off to fetch you one
I do this with oreos.... theyre my little treat.... well i would except i fell asleep on the sofa and had left them on the desk.... woke up to find ds had demolished the whole packet

Im not going to weigh in this week as I only weighed myself yeaterday and I have drunk loads today so i reckon the figures are going to have gone sky high and I dont want it to make me miserable.... if that makes any sense.

Heres to another good week ladies!

ilikeyoursleeves · 29/09/2009 15:25

Hi all, it's been a quiet week on this thread! Hope you are all having a good week and staying focused. I've had an on /off week but did my weigh in this morning and have lost another pound so that's me lost 8lbs in a month! My clothes feel comfortable again so I am easing off trying to be good most of the time and am now just going to try not to get back into the pattern of eating tonnes at night. I still have another 3lb to go to get to my pre-preg weight but I think the breastfeeding is helping loads so will just let DS2 suck the last bit out lol.

How are you all doing? x

texasholdem · 30/09/2009 21:58

Hi all (have name changed by the way - was LittleMissMummy!)

Didn't go to in-laws at the weekend as they were away for a few days but was there today and weighed myself - 11st 4lbs. A bit less than I thought I would be!

My aim is to lose between 10lbs and 1st. DP's party is first week in Nov so I'll be happy to lose about 1.5lbs each week til then . And I would ideally like to lose a total of 1st by Christmas.

Didn't have a good weekend -

Friday night - Indian takeaway
Saturday night - Big plate of pasta
Sunday night - Takeaway pizza
Monday night - Chinese takeaway

Will try my best to be better this weekend as I really want to lose this weight!

Hope everyone else is doing well

Speak soon x

spookycharlotte121 · 30/09/2009 22:05

Im having a really bad week feel like crying! Im supposed to be going out at the weekend fora night out on the town.... like most 21 year olds do every weekend but i just look hidious and dont feel like i have the confidence to be seen by people who might have horrible things to say to me.

I bought a new outfit and i look gross in it. to make matters worse im on so im just eating crap.... i dont seem to be able to stop myself.

Im going to try my hardest to get back on the wagon tomorrow. sorry for beinga missery im just totally fed up of looking like this. I want to feel nice about the way i look.

glad ur still doing well sleeves.... texes dw about a bad weekend.... your allowed time off every now and again.

texasholdem · 30/09/2009 22:30

hey spooky, try not be too hard on yourself . Anybody who says horrible things to you about your weight are just plain nasty and are not even worth getting upset over. Where are you supposed to be going out? Is it a night out with friends? If you have a good few days then it might cheer you up. I defo think you should go out even if you dont have a good few days!

It's easy me saying this though eh?! Only you know how you really feel and if you are really unhappy about your weight then thats totally fine as its how you feel that matters! I comletely understand .

Hope you feel a bit better soon and have a think about your night out.

mamasunshine · 01/10/2009 11:58

Hi everyone can I join your group please?! I have ds1 18months and ds2 3months so very busy! Bf so not wanting to restrict calories but needing to start eating more healthily as have been relying on takeaways too often. Also evenings are awful as have really bad sugar cravings so end up eating a big bar of chocolate most nights As you weigh-in on a Tues I'll wait until then to put exact weight but its around 10 stone...target weight 9st7lb! Trying to walk as much as i can and carry baby in sling, but he's getting a bit too heavy for my back to do long distances so think going to buy a back sling. Hope you're all doing well today x

mamasunshine · 01/10/2009 11:59

Sorry my target weight is 8st7lb!!

ilikeyoursleeves · 01/10/2009 21:13

Hi all, welcome to the thread mamasunshine! You sound like you are in a very similar position to me, I have DS1 23 months and DS2 2.5 months and BFing too. I found that cutting back on the evening crap made a massive difference as BFing seems to be helping me lose weight, as does carrying DS2 about in the sling. My target weight is similar to yours too, pre preg I was 9 stone but in my hey day I was 8 & half stone so I'd like to get back to that one day. BTW what type of sling do you have? I have a Moby this time which is FAR better than the babybjorn papoose I previously had which killed my back.

Charlotte I hope you are feeling better today! Are you feeling more confident about your night out? Please don't worry about what others might say, as Texas says anyone who is nasty isn't worth wasting time worrying over. We all have off days and off weeks, keep focused on this thread and we will help you get back on the wagon! You can do it!

Hi Texas, your goal sounds achieveable and it's a sensible amout to lose each week too. How've things been today? Stick a post it over your takeaway menus to say 'don't do it!!!!'. We have decided we aren't having any more takeaways until at least DS1's birthday which is 28th October. You could aim to not have any all Oct then reward yourself on the 1st Nov? Save all the takeaway money and buy yourself something fabby

OP posts:
texasholdem · 01/10/2009 21:23

Welcome mamasunshine! Hope you are well!! Btw, I was thinking of getting a back sling but have no idea what kind to get - any ideas?!

Ilikeyoursleeves - that sounds like a good idea, I could do with some new shoes for DP's 30th party so will save the take-away money and get a nice pair!

Been ok today (well i think!)

breakfast - 6 (blush) disgestive biscuits and cup of tea
mid-morning snack - cup of coffee and half a slice of toast at toddler group
lunch - red thai chicken sandwiches from gregs - was soooo close to getting a fudge doghnut too but was good and just left it
afternoon snack - 4 digestives and cup of tea
dinner - mince and tatties

will probably have a crunch corner yoghurt before bed!!

Really trying to get focused now. Especially since I know my exact weight and have a target weight in mind.

How have you been today??

ilikeyoursleeves · 01/10/2009 21:48

Your day sounds good Texas, your snadwiches sound tasty! Today I have had...

brek- slice toast and peanut butter, cup of tea

snack- banana

lunch- croissant and cheese, kit kat

snack- milky bar buttons, tunnocks teacake

dinner- pasta, pesto and chicken, more biscuits

...and I'm hungry again so going to have a sneaky wee croissant with Nutella before bed but I raked up the garden leaves for about an hour today so I feel I deserve it

BTW re back slings, I don't know of any to recommend but the moby lets you wear a toddler on your back apparantly! Or are you meaning one of those backpack looking ones?

OP posts:
texasholdem · 01/10/2009 22:09

hey ilikeyoursleeves, sounds like you had a good day too (your dinner especially sounds fab ).

Had 2 bottles of beer tonight (ooops!) so will just leave the yogurt I think!

Thanks for info about the back slings! I bought a Tomy one but its just for the front. Whenever I put DD in it I just think she looks so uncomfy which is why I never really have her in it! There's one that I saw for the back which is kinda like a huge scarf type thing and it ties up and the baby/toddler looks all snug!! Not sure what make it is or where to get it though!

ilikeyoursleeves · 01/10/2009 22:25

what age is your dd?

OP posts:
texasholdem · 02/10/2009 20:59

Hi ilikeyoursleeves!

She is nearly 5 months now!

How was everyones day!?

I had -

Breakfast - Sausage roll from Greggs and a bottle of orange Lucozade
Lunch - 2 slices of pizza, a quarter of ham sandwich, 2 cocktail sausages and a small sausage roll (there was a wee party at my mums house!)
dinner - big plate of pasta with a home made arrabiatta sauce, black olives and a slice of brushetta

Still to have a crunch corner!

Have defo decided to give up the take-aways for a while. They aren't worth the money plus you can usually make better at home!

Hope everybody is well x

mamasunshine · 02/10/2009 22:19

Hi everyone, have not had a brilliant 2 days food wise!

Today:
break - muesli and a sneaky bit of choloate spotted in cupboard
lunch - corned beef sandwich with mayo and watercress (a couple of sweeties after)
Dinner - chinese takeaway not a good start hey!?
Followed by lots of cadbury's caramel...terrible terrible!

Had a very busy unorganised day so blaming that

ilikeyoursleeves I've been using babybjorn so far and yes it's killing my back! I also have a ring sling which I don't like, and I recently bought a wrap sling but find it too fiddly to get on and off. So going to sell the latter 2 on ebay, and then buy a Mei Tai (texasholdem nice easy to use slings.) I think as they look really good for back wearing. So as soon as I get around to doing that will continue carrying baby to help with weightloss.

Any tips on avoiding evening binges much appreciated!

ilikeyoursleeves · 03/10/2009 23:14

Well I am clearly not the one to advise on evening binges as I have been terrible tonight.

Today has been:

Brek- mini weetabix & milk
Lunch- 2 bowls cougette & stilton soup with slice of bread and DS's left over chicken sandwich
Snack- strawberries & large choc crispy cake
Dinner- chilli con carne with rice, another large choc crispy cake (I make loads with DS today, big mistake!)
Tonight- smarties & a whole tub of Pringles

Oh well, tomorrow is another day. But I still have loads of crispy cakes! I blame the bad weather here today, I had run out of ways to entertain DS1!

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
mamasunshine · 05/10/2009 07:39

Yesterday was a little better:

Break - banana and buttered toast
Lunch - tuna, sweetcorn and mayo jacket potato with salad
Snack - handful of grapes
Dinner - sausage casserole with mash

And only had 1 cadbury's caramel bar in the evening (which I didn't really want but ate anyway ...oh and a glass of wine!

Have had a terrible night with very little sleep, due to DS1 being up with a cough and wheezing all night. Hoping its just an effect of cough rather than possible asthma.

Have made a deal with dh that no chocolate for me in the evenings and no beer for him, then can treat ourselves Fri! I know only 4 nights, but figured to start small and work up from there!

Looking forward to finding out true weight tomorrow, think it will scare me into being "good"! Decided not to buy scales as town's a 20min walk so will walk in every Tues to weigh myself in Boots.

The courgette and stilton soup sounds good!

Hope everyone doing well and feeling motivated!

ilikeyoursleeves · 06/10/2009 12:17

Hi all,

Todays weigh was as expected, I'm the same weight as last week which I suppose is quite good given the rubbish I have eaten all week! I am sitting eating supernoodles just now so haven't quite been able to refocus myself yet.

The sun has come out here though so think I'll take DS's for a big walk after I get DS1 from nursery.

How's everyones weigh in been today?

OP posts:
mamasunshine · 06/10/2009 22:30

Hi

Weight is 10 stone exactly so 1 and 1/2 stone to lose! 1 lb weightloss a wk would be fantastic if I can manage that through bf, walking and no evening binges on chocolate and lemonade. We'll see how that works to begin with anyway. Going to try and get out for a big walk tomorrow if it's dry

texasholdem · 07/10/2009 14:57

hi ladies,

not really been too great, although have only had 1 takeaway (and didn't even want it, just really couldnt be bothered making any dinner!)

am absolutely loaded with the cold just now so am hoping I will lose some weight due to not eating as much!

Weighed myself at PIL's last wednessday and was 11st 4lbs. Weighed myself again when I was there on Sunday and was 11st 3lbs so I supposed a 1lb weight loss is good for 4 days. If Im feeling better then Ill take DD there on Friday so will weigh myself again then.

Hope everyone else is well xxx
