I got vegetable biryani on the end, think it will still be within syn allowance. Hope so anyway. Can't afford to put any weight on as I just bought a fitted dress today that I am going to wear in a couple of weeks time.

I don't mind it being a bit looser if I lose weight, but it can't be any tighter!

ConnieComplaint · 17/10/2009 22:03

I love spin sowhatis - yes, hard going, but our instructor yells at me to move my arse... she's my big sister!

I had a take away for tea tonight too... but have been good so far this week, not too many syns & no alcohol yet at all!!

Going to the shower now & may have a drink when I've got dressed - not sure.

Come on woman..... you can do this

I've heard from TITS btw, I meant to post earlier in the week, she's fine, but DS is still poorly and waiting news from a London hospital to get his tube mended. (God I'm so sorry if that's wrong, I have deleted the text but I do think that's right).

BethAndHerBrood · 18/10/2009 17:59

Hi all, Me and DH are back on the plan big time! We started last week, I got weighed yesterday, lost 4.5lbs! Very pleased with myself, and it keeps me going.

Can someone give me some ideas on how to get some flavour into a quorn mince meal? I'm planning on making something like a shepherds pie, but with sliced pots on top. Last time we had it the mince mixture was a bit bland. Any tips?

Just going to read the thread and catch up.

kid · 18/10/2009 19:00

I don't like quorn myself, too bland for me. But to liven it up, I guess I would add some worcestershire sauce, mushrooms, onions, salt and pepper.

Well done on your loss, 4.5lb is great!

I think I should write this week off, been a bit of a disaster on more than one day. I will probably still weigh in but really am not hopeful that I will have lost anything. Maybe I will learn a lesson from it and stop eating so much junk.

GrimRIAper · 18/10/2009 23:32

pah, started so weel, yesterday was nearly 100%. Then today, as I was merrily eating porridge, I remembered that I was doing EE, but needed a picnic lunch. So today not so great.

EE again tomorrow (stew all ready for tea, pasta and mince in fridge for lunch) and dance class in the morning.

sowhatis · 19/10/2009 14:59

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. WI for me tomorrow.............fingers crossed!!

Have a good week everyone xx

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 19/10/2009 15:18

Hiya,

Can anyone tell me how to cook a leg of lamb for dinner tonight. Is spraying it in Frylight the only option?

sowhatis · 19/10/2009 16:47

unless you want to use some olive oil as some syns i guessit is xx

ameRIAcansmooth · 19/10/2009 17:55

no idea how to cook lamb I'm afraid - garlic cloves and rosemary and cover with foil?

kid · 19/10/2009 23:07

I maintained this week. Not great but better than a gain, well thats what I am telling myself anyway. Really must try harder this week.

BethAndHerBrood · 20/10/2009 12:47

My mince thing was nice, I sliced potatoes onto the top and sprinkled with cheese. Pork casserole tonight and veg. I think getting organised is important, or we eat chips and beans everynight!

I've been out for coffee this morning, so that's my 2 HE A's gone today. I bought some choc chip shortbread in tesco, but I can't find it on the syns thing online. What do I do now? Will finding something similair be okay, I might just call it my 15 syns for today, I won't be having any others.

sowhatis · 20/10/2009 13:44

Beth, you can use the syn calculator online, you just type in the kcals, fat etc and it will tell you. Pleased the mince was nice!

Well done on not gaining kid, i think thats half the battle!

off to wi tonight, fingers crossed xx

BethAndHerBrood · 20/10/2009 19:58

The shortbread is from the bakery, so there is no nutritional info on it. Will have a look on tesco website though, might be on there.

BethAndHerBrood · 20/10/2009 20:06

Found it! The only problem was, there wasn't a portion size. Is it as simple as weighing the biscuit? I guessed anyway, and came out with 16.5 syns. Which I'm very happy with. I shall enjoy it later with a cup of tea.

ConnieComplaint · 20/10/2009 22:29

Hi everyone - well done on all the losses & maintains

Shortbread sounds lovely

I have had the shitting week from hell! Mobile got nicked yesterday - have wanted to eat everything in sight due to stress.

Work is pissing me off - want to go shorter hours so I can be at home for kids at least 2 afternoons a week - they won't discuss it until the next financial year: April!

Have just sat through a PTA meeting where some really good ideas were discussed, but I would rather have been at home here with my kids.

DH is on night shifts, leaving me here alone with two sleeping kiddies and a cupboard full of family sized Tesco potato rings, skip type thing & the onion rings.... plus walkers sensations & doritos...... I went shopping on Saturday when I was starving hungry!!!! It's through the grace of God I haven't stuffed the whole lot in me yet!!

Anyway - have WI tomorrow, would love 0.5lb to ger my 2 stone award but it's proving to be a very slippery thing to catch!!! I feel like I've gained, because I'm bloated with it being almost the TOTM, but I have been good, not ate over my sysn, though I think that maintain last week threw me a wee bit!

ameRIAcansmooth · 20/10/2009 22:55

good luck connie. about your week and about your mobile and your work (can they legally do that?)

I had the bedtime from hell last night (DHs night off but he was playing pool) so I made DH get up with the DCs this morning (but didn't enjoy the lie-in, just felt guilty) and I decided tonight I was going out before tea and not coming home til after bedtime! (I suppose it's not DHs fault he works until after bedtime, but everyone needs a break sometimes, and I've had maybe 2 or 3 nights "off" since DS3 was born). Anyway, I stayed in for the DCs tea, but when they distributed their food over my clean floor I decided I really was going! and I went ... swimming

maintain deffo better than a gain kis.

of shortbread!

Fruitgums · 21/10/2009 10:00

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie... can I join in please?

I used to go to slimming world but had to give it up after three weeks as I couldn't find/afford a babysitter for my DS (he's 2yrs).

I'm now trying to follow to follow the extra easy plan at home as well. I have about 4stones to lose. I only came across this forum this morning and it seems like an answer to my prayers as everyone I know is doing WW.

Looking forward to 'meeting' you all

sowhatis · 21/10/2009 12:48

Welcome Fruitgums! I take my dc along to get weighed, but have not yet stayed for a meeting............i must really, but DH is rarely home before 7/8pm.

I had WI last night and lost 3.5lb! Thats 24lb in 5weeks! Very pleased, and long may it continue!

Hope everyone is doing well this week. Sorry to hear about your phone Connie. hope your week improves. RIA, swimming sounds good, thats my plan for friday.

xx

StrawberriesandCherries · 21/10/2009 21:23

Hello fruitgum!!
Thanks whatis, i have been having more baked pots and even though have had a few over syns day this week as fed up not losing, i think it's the way to go as still lost a bit of weight.

Well done CC - that must be a real boost after the awful week you had with your phone.

This weeks word is ryvita btw

Fruitgums · 22/10/2009 09:19

Thanks for the welcome ladies

Sowhatis & Connie - fantastic weight losses. Well done the pair of you.

Sowhatis- what an amazing weight loss! Can't believe you've lost so much in such a short time. How much weight do you have to lose?

You've both inspired me to stick to SW today as I had a really bad day yesterday - too much eating. Homemade cookies are lethal!
