Well done Chili. Acceptance is half the battle! Now s'cuse me while I go and be sick, platitudes make me nauseous!

Seriously, we'll do this. It will take time and we may stumble along the way but we can do it. I've done it before, maybe you lot have too. It was amazing and I'm only sorry that my phobia of being photographed means there is no proof of how good I looked at my lowest of 10st 4. My best friend was 16st at the time and she admitted that she hated me. Now it's the other way round and I hate her and am furious with myself for letting it go. I don't want dd to grow up with an unfit mother, I want to be able to take her swimming and bike riding and nature walks.

Just one day at a time, think how fantastic we'll feel to even lose a few pounds. Imagine that scales saying 19st something and work from there

PieceNharmoknee · 05/05/2009 14:30

I've just been to Argos and brought some digital scales >

So I weigh 16st 4lbs.

So every Monday we are going to weigh ourselves again and report back, is that right?

EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 05/05/2009 14:32

That's it. Report back here to bootcamp And remember, we can all see everyone so no fibbing

And now I'm going to shut up before I take over this whole thread

PieceNharmoknee · 05/05/2009 14:35

Its scary isnt it chilli, I wont even tell DH how much I weigh but for some reason I feel OK about posting it on an internet forum

I really do think we can all do this together, I have never felt as motivated as what I do now and thats thanks to you ladies

Thank you LTR for being brave enough to start this thread.

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 14:52

In the not so near distant future, we are going to be healthier and happier ladies. I am certainly going to need a kick up the bum gentle shove in the right direction. Resisting sweet foods is not my strong point.

Okay here goes ->

Current weight -> 19stone,1 lb

Well done everyone for getting your current weight on here!!!

You can't be seriously motivated until you can accept it and realise there is nothing to be ashamed of!

WHEN we get to a size we are all totally happy with then we can look back and be proud of what we have just done as it will show truly how much effort and work we had to put in to get healthy!

mamadiva · 05/05/2009 14:59

Can you tell I am an optimist with all my smilies LOL.

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 16:22

Might upload a picture to my profile so i can refer back to it as my before. Not sure if it will be a swimsuit one or more than likely one with clothes

OP posts:
EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 05/05/2009 16:56

OK, I'm calling in some support now. I am reeeeeeeeally hungry. Fine, I expect to be as I was totally utterly and shamefully disorganised and have had only a cheese sandwich today. I will eat properly tonight and from now on.

My problem now is that I have to last another hour and a half and then I have to go to Tesco where I must steel myself not to buy a dozen sausage rolls and stuff them all in my gob in one go.

Motivation needed because I know there is a bag of crisps in the boot of the car...

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 17:13

Drink water. Makes you feel full for a little while. You can do it Eyeballs!
Don't give in to temptation in the supermarket, you'll feel loads better for it when you get home with lots of healthy food [grin}

Do something to distract yourself (Not sure what your job entails but if you have the time, you could write a shopping list or chat on MN )

OP posts:
EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 05/05/2009 17:19

I am afloat with liquid! I swear this office either knows I'm on a diet or thinks I'm pg the amount of time I have gone to the loo.

Am trying to distract myself by actually doing some work for a change. Wish I didn't have to go to the shop but we are out of everything.

I might suck a polo mint...

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 18:32

How did the shopping go?

OP posts:
EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 05/05/2009 20:49

Well, just got back and I was very good. I will admit to a bag of wine gums on the way home but that was really because I was about to pass out and needed the sugar rush and they were in the car . However, managed to get round Tescos and buy good stuff and no crap. Going to have pasta with a tomato sauce tonight. So with that and some fruit I think I'm within my calorie allowance for the day, even if it wasn't a healthy day. But am well prepared for tomorrow. Got yogurts, fruit etc so should be ok.

How are you doing?

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 20:57

welldone sounds like you had a good day food wise

I have been planning my and family's menu for tomorrow (did it straight after dinner when i wasn't hungry)

i am planning to have:
Brekkie: Porridge
lunch: Pasta with salad and a little grated cheese
Evening meal: Roast chicken, roast potatoes cooked with fry lite and lots of veggies

If i get hungry i'm going to drink water or eat some fruit.
Want to hire the rug doctor from homebase tomorrow - hopefully cleaning the carpets will help to keep my mind off food!

PieceNharmoknee · 05/05/2009 20:58

These are now my snacking hours - lethal times for calorie intake.

I can do it - I will not eat!

Eyeballs did you manage it? What healthy things did you buy? Did you avoid the sauage roll aisle?

So far today I have had:

Fruit with yoghurt (breakfast)
Cheese and pickle sandwhich (lunch)
Homemade curry (from jamie's MOF) (dinner)
Fruit and yoghurt (pudding)
And I've drink about 1 litre of water

How does that sound? Bad? Be honest ladies!

I'm going to get DH to take a photo of me in my swimming costume soon, I cannot post it though - trust me its a sight you don't want to see I haven't told DH yet though, I'm waiting till its too late at night for him to do a runner out the back door

Chilimama · 05/05/2009 21:41

That sounds good to me PieceN, how have you found it? The evenings are hardest for me as well when it comes to snacking.

Well done Eyeballs for resisting the sausage rolls, wine gums don't sound half as bad. Sounds like you did a very sucessful shop!

Today I had

Breakfast - Oat cereal (dry) and a pear
Lunch - Small bowl of pasta with 1/2 a small jar of Dolmio and a tbsp parmesan.
Dinner - Chicken breast, new pots, cauliflower, peas, carrots and a couple of frozen yorkshire puds.
I've had a cup of black coffee and just over 1.5 litres of water (with sugar free squash)

I have been using an online calorie counter and it said I need 1888 cals per day in order to lose approx 2lbs per week. I have also been weighing everything as I have no concept of proper portion sizes. Apparently I have 467 cals left today so I may have an ice lolly later if I need something sweet

Have to go shopping tomorrow so will try and plan out meals in advance as well from then, great idea LTR.

PieceNharmoknee · 05/05/2009 22:04

What site is that calorie counter on Chilimama, sounds helpful.

You day sounds healthier than mine. I need to buy a healthy oaty ceral before I get bored of fruit and yoghurt

Did you have wholemeal pasta chilli? I've never tried that before but I'm thinking of buying some

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 22:28

welldone everyone. I am the same at this time of night PieceNharmoknee. Felt hungry so had to eat two cream crackers with a little low fat spread. Am thinking i should go to bed to take my mind off eating!

What does everyone do to stop themselves snacking?

OP posts:
EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 05/05/2009 22:30

Exactly that LTR, go to bed! Or I have a long bath with a book and a diet coke. I'm getting nibbly as well now. Think I'll put the kettle on...

LovingTheRain · 05/05/2009 22:37

Think i'll have to go to bed. Not feeling hungry now, the crackers seemed to have hit the spot.

Anyone watching the biggest loser series? (Itv, daily, 4pm).

I record and watch when the kids have gone to bed, have watched today's and am glad that is not me being shouted at and made to work out 6 hours a day. Am jelous they loose the weight so quickly though (Though am sure it's probably not very healthy!!)

OP posts:
LovingTheRain · 06/05/2009 08:18

Morning all! Am trying something new today. I am going to hold off having breakfast till i feel hungry, as usually i eat it as soon as i am home from taking DCs to school.

Am either going to have porridge or cornflakes with sultanas.

WHat has everyone had/having for breakfast?

OP posts:
EyeballsisonaDietAgain · 06/05/2009 08:36

Morning

Yogurt and a banana here. Well dd took a few calories off me but it's better than yesterday. Never weigh yourself every day though I'm a pound heavier today. Bugger that'll teach me.
