im desperate i really need to lose weight- would love encouragement & support !

hi all , i am a 26 yr old mother of 3, my son is 6 and i have 2 girls aged 8 month and 20 month,all of my pregnancys have ended in me having a casarean section.
i am 5'2, b4 i had my son i weighed 11 st, developed pre eclampsia and shot up tp 14 st, managed 2 get back down to 11st, my weight then fluctuated for 4 year- managed to stay between 11-12 stone.
i then fell pregnant again and went up to 13st 4 then got back down to 11st2 and fell pregnant again and developed pre eclampsia, my weight shot up to 14st 7 !!!!!!!
that was 8 month ago, i am down to 12st 5 and cant seem to lose anymore ! i look horrendously big ! i am a size 16 sometimes they even feel tight on me !
the reason i want to lose weight is not just for me but my kids as extra weight increases chances of heart attacks,strokes,diabetes etc
i have a loving partner who is also overweight but feels he is okay as his bmi is within a healthy range !
would love any support, messages, stories to help me on my way !
ideally i would love to lose 3 stone but that seems impossible atm !
i cant afford to join slimming clubs or buy diet shakes, therefore im gonna stick to a 1500 cal diet a day, which has worked 4 me b4, so please try and encourage me thanx xxx

hi mamof3. i was in a similar position to you. after i had my ds i was 13st and a size 16. I am 5ft3. i bought all the weightwatchers books off ebay for about £10 and lost 3st. it took me about a year. at my lowest i got to 9st13 but couldn't get past that mark. that was about three years ago. i have slowly creeped up to 11st and am desperate to lose it again but can't find the motivation! i cannot afford to join a gym or anything like that just like but i walk whenever i can. i also don't have my tea until about 7pm as i find i dont snack after it whereas if i have it at 5pm i get the munchies around 9pmish. I found it helps if you fill you plate up with salad and veg and eat lots of fruit as snacks.(not as many potatoes or bananas) i also find if i cut sandwhiches up and eat bite sized food i tend to feel fuller quickly - must be psychological.

You have already lost weight so you can do it, keep up the good work! I think sometimes you get to a point where you can't lose anymore weight without a little excerise, thats why i walk as much as i can as every little helps.

thanx dli, i have tried the w/w and slimming world b4 but find i snack 2 much, i go back to work in june so maybe will lose a bit then,doubt it hough.
at the min, i have my brekfast around 9.30, lunch around 1ish then tea at 7ish, when all kids r in bed, however i tend to snack wen im watching tv ,cheese,choccrisps ANYTHING lol x

lol, i do the same so now i only biscuits i don't like and child chocolate like buttons, tell myself that they are ds's and that i would be stealing them if i ate them! What you have to do. I go for a walk at lunchtime, just for about fifteen minutes round the block. i must confess though - i dont eat breakfast, i can't stick to my points if i eat breakfast - always go over. I dont buy cheese if i can help it and i avoid red meat. i find grapes are good snack food on an evening - they bloat me out after a few so i dont eat anything else! next day i am ok again! Once you get back to work you won't munch as much because you will be too pre-occupied!

hiya, i have been at ww for 3 months and have lost 16 and half pounds but it is so so slow. i started at 17st 2 and am now just over 16stone. i am 5 ft 4 and am just starting to get into 18's
i snack alot too but have tried to curb it but if i do snack then it is usually a ww choc bar so not as bad as the real thing!
i want to lose another 3 stine ideally and need the push and encorougment too
i feel loads better for just being the stone lighter, i do a manual job and have quite alot of muscle so i am alot heavier thna i actually look (so alot of people have told me)

you may think it is slow but just keep telling yourself you ARE losing it and not putting it on! my boss went through a stage of losing weight with us "girls" and every timne she lost 2lb she would say "that is another block of butter of my bum, another x to got" we thought it quite funny but it worked for her

lizandlulu way to go on ur weight loss,i agree with u on the ww choc bars hey r scrummy !!!!!!! but i end up eating 2 !
also with it being easter my partner said theres no pojnt eating healthy as kids got loadsa eggs to get through x
dli i suppose thats a good way 2 motivate myself but in mycase it would be another house brick shifted of my bum lol !
my main problem area is my stomach, sfter 3 sections it hangs so looooow like a pouch !livvyanddaisymummy wpuld love a diet buddy, how much u wanting to lose ? xxx

I am wanting to loose atleast three stone, maybe four :D. I am the same in regards to the slimming clubs. Going to try and eat healthy and exercise.

I am going to start on monday when all my children's eatser choc is gone (Someone has to help them eat it all!! )

Have you started yours yet? x

in theory my diet starts every monday morning and in reality it has gone 2 pot by midday monday !
i am getting through these easter eggs at such a pace that i am going to set my "start date" for this coming monday, hope u will be my diet buddy i hope this will give me the kick up the a**e i need to motivate me !
i 2 would ideally like to lose 3 stone but i think that goal is far to big and seems as though it would take me 4ever, so im going to set myself mini targets of half a stone to lose at first and see how i go .
i am going to stick to a 1500 cals diet
breakfast 300 cals
mid morn snack 100 cals
dinner 400 cals
afternoon snack 100 cals
teatime 500 cals
evening snack 100 cals
i am also not going to count fruit and veg in my calorie intake as s/w and w/w dont so im gonna try that and see how i go

well 2day is the last day of eating wat i want so i have just ate half an easter egg 4 breakfast- sheer greed but toally nice we have another 5 easter eggs left so im going to melt them down 2day with kids and make krispie cakes .
this week has been a total nightmare as my partner was off work for a week so we have ate out lots
he is back at work 2moro so im gonna try sooooooooooooooo hard to stick 2 diet.
i also find i drink quite a lot of diet coke which is free on slimming world so im assuming its ok ??? not sure on this, i bought a 24 pack on tuesday and have drank 13 cans already......

MAN IT SUX BEING BIG! People that have never been fat just so cant understand the self conciousness and the constant tugging your top down and the miserable looks in the mirror and the extra-5-pound look in every photo and the hunger you get when you try and diet!! You feel every one is looking at your bulges and watching what you put in your mouth, and talking behind your back about it... Sux, and i feel your pain!!!

Try eating porridge with splenda and low fat milk to fill you up, salads for lunch with lotsa lean ham or chicken and meat and heaps of steamed veg for dinner.
Also a cup of sugarfree tea and coke zero are good to get your mind off being hungry. And bananas are good if you are hungry and tempted to eat biscuits or chocolate.

I buy my DH all the biscuits that i hate, and he likes, so i dont eat them. And peppermint chocolate (eww) and liquourice!!

My DH is a naturally skinny man that can eat almost his own body weight and just stay skinny as, where i just need to look at a cake and il put weight on!!!!
Im 5ft5 and in between a 10 and 12, but have 2 yr old and a 10 week old (that were both nearly 10 pound) and my tummy is stretched and baggy. I got down to a size 9 after being a good full size 14 after DD1 and then got preg with DS2 and my body just absorbed every gram of food i ate!!! Grrrrr.

I put on 22 kg with 1st baby and 12 with the second (cos i knew that it took 2 years of excersize and dieting to get it off)

Id like to lose 2 stone and be a size 8-10 but its just so dam HARD!!!!! I know i can do it cos i have lost weight before but with 2 kids i cant excersize any more, and i just hate dieting. Im bfeeding so im hoping that will help.....

I find that its the 1st few days of a healthy eating plan (i dont like the word diet) that is the hardest, and if you excersize, it makes you not eat bad things as much as you remember the work out and think "that cookie is so not worth it".

Also think to yourself "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS"!!!!

thanx alicemumma,i am thinking about enlarging a "fat" foto of me even more and sticking it on my fridge to tryt and stave me away from biccies and chocs, i am just so bloody greedy at times, dont get me wrong i couldnt sit and eat a packet of biccies in 1 sitting but i cant resist anything bad- crisps, jellies, chocs, i am not massively huge but i am starting to develop a "sandwich" backs,where it looks as though it looks like a number 3 from the back ! i hate love handles lol x

I had a huge shock yesterday when someone took a pic of me at work.I AM HUGE

I am taking myself off to weightwatchers tomorrow as I am NOT going though another summer as big as a house!!!

My partner is also naturally thin and eats like a horse.He practically lives on cake but never puts on a pound

I think I need to loose about 4 stone but I wont know for sure until I get weighed tomorrow.

I am bloody determined to be my ideal weight by the time we visit my family in Australia at Christmas!!!!!

well as a mam of 3 and with the credit crunch affecting us i cant afford to join slimming clubs, i have done in the past but lost nothing, i find that if i stick 2 1500 cals i lose weight xx

1500 cals seems like alot on paper but when its 4pm and youve eaten 1400 of them already, that sucks!

I watched Dr Phil once and he said to a fat lady "Do you know why you are fat? Because you WANT to be fat. You would rather eat junk food and be fat, then healthy and slim, so you are choosing to be fat".

I kinda thort of that for a bit and every time i went to reach for a biscuit or whatever, i would think of that. Choosing to be fat? Not me!!

Mamaof3, you are not greedy! You just enjoy yummy food like 99.9 % of the worlds population! You are just unfortunate (like most of us on this thread) not to have a lightning fast metabolism/good genes!

If a big huge person was eating an icecream, sitting next to a thin person eating the same size icecream, it doesnt mean the fat person is greedy and the thin person isnt!!
They just both enjoy the taste of icecream!

Right!! today is the day. I have decided against weightwatchers for the time being as it is expensive,but I have a book that my mum sent me from Australia .It's called the CSIRO total well being diet.

My sister and her husband have lost about 4 stone each on this so I am going to give it a go.

hi lillypie, i have a wii fit board so will start on that 2moro, i have stood and ironed for 3 hours 2dat so could not be bothered 2 get it out 2day
wat kind of foods have u been eating on the csiro diet and how does that work ?
ALICEMUMMA 1500 cals does seem a lot but it works and if ur sensible u can share them out over brekfast, dinner and tea and have 3 snacks 2, or if ur not in2 snacking then just have more cals at mealtimes
it worked for me b4 , fingers crossed it will work again

Morning
On the Csiro plan you eat
3 units protein
2 units bread
1 unit cereal
3 units dairy
2.5 units veg (at least)
3 units fat

So yesterday I ate
breakfast:
40g high fibre cereal
250ml semi skimmed milk
1 banana

lunch:
Turkey sandwich-
2 slices of wholemeal bread
100g of turkey with cranberry sauce
40g of avacado
1.5 cups of salad with oil free dressing

Dinner:
roasted chicken with thyme,red onions and butternut squash
steamed broccoli and carrot
tinned fruit and low fat yogurt

Snack:
low fat yogurt

There are loads of lovely recipes in the book and I just added potatoes to DP's meal

Very briefly......

I also went up to 14st with my last pg managed to lose 2 st by walking and eating a bit healthier.

I was 12 stone in Jan 2008 so I joined WW and got down to 9.7st by June 2008 now I'm 9.11 which isn't bad but I'm getting married in 5 months and I'd like to be 9st like you I am short and any weight I carry is round my middle so I still feel fat!

I'm going on my wii fit board every night, well I'm aiming for everynight.

If I can just be good for 4 weeks (having every fri night off for a treat) then I should do it just need to concentrate!

[GRIN]congratulations on ur weight loss LMG and im sure u will lose 11lb in 5month if u lost 2 and a half stone in 6month, good on u id be lost witout my wii fit lol im 26 but my "wiifit" age is 31 , so im hoping on getting that back to normal lol xx

LILLYPIE im assuming 1 unit of something is 1 slice of bread etc ? how do u know wat unit of cereal etc? it seems like a good diet but i dont think i would have time to weigh ingredeints out etc. good luck and hope all goes well x

HAVE ALSO DECIDED THAT MY WEEKLY WEIGH IN WILL BE 1ST THING ON MONDAY MORNING EXACTLY A WEEK AFTER MY DIET STARTED IF ANY1 WANTS TO JOIN MY WEEKLY WEIGH IN , THAT WOULD BE GREAT XX

can u have treats on the csiro diet then ?
i have found yesterday i needed 2 go 2 the toilet lots, probz coz the 1st few days u lose excess water apparently
really hope i can stick 2 this diet, going back 2 work in june so hoping 2 be a bit slimmer
