Hi ...sorry to butt in, just been lurking around MN for a few weeks and discovered this thread. I started WW 3 weeks ago and its not going too badly, that was until pizza hut tonight but would love to swap ww stories as doing it on my own makes it too easy to pig out :@)

Hello, been doing ww on and off since 2000 when I reached goal at 9st 7lbs (and got pregnant for first time 2 weeks later). I am 5' 7". Two kids later (in between which I did get back down to about 9st 10lbs) I am about 10st 5lbs again, but have just started doing points again this week and will go back to my meeting next week. I actually really like doing points, there's a sad little bit of me that loves the calculation and the feeling of being in control, so if I'm in the groove, I'm really quite good at sticking with. But it is quite easy just to get out of the groove and not care anymore for weeks on end!!! I probably won't have any more kids so if I get to goal this year, it should be easier to stay there.
Dior - you are great, an inspiration, what i like is that you tell us the bad things as well as the good things.

Do you mind if I nip in here and ask a question on WW? If you're allowed 20 points a day, do you have to eat all the 20 points? My friend says it's important to eat all the 20 points but sometimes I just can't. I'm trying to lose a stone, slowly, sensibly, all that and am eating heaps of fruit and veg and honestly tonight I full and couldn't eat another 4 or five points worth unless it was biscuits and if I have one I'll eat the whole packet!. Sorry to be dense!

wozzle1 · 29/04/2005 10:01

Hi Kbear, I was wondering the same so I rang the WW helpline and they advised that you should eat all your daily points otherwise you will find it hard to lose regular weight when you drop your points allowance..your weight will just stay the same...or so that was the advise I was given.
Hope that helps.

fee77 · 29/04/2005 11:06

I lost 3 1/2 lb this week - yipee!!

KBear · 29/04/2005 12:21

Thanks wozzle! I am so determined to do it right as I want to be slim and gorgeous (well slim anyway!) for the summer!

good luck everyone else here!

ark · 29/04/2005 12:53

Hey Fee, well done - how much is that all together??

Dophus · 29/04/2005 13:32

Just joined WW on Wednesday I think I may be wasting away...

need...food....now...

ark · 29/04/2005 14:34

Dophus - sounds like an emergency!! what are you craving and what is your daily points allowance - and are you count or no count! So many questions!!!

fee77 · 30/04/2005 12:36

Ark , that makes 10 1/2 lbs so far. I am dead chuffed and already feel different.

Thanks Dior - makes sense. Good job I carried some over. Been out to lunch with the in-laws who were quite grumpy that I was eating sensibly and didn't have desert. The main course undid all the good I've done this week on its own!

Arrrg really BAD week! Should weigh in on a tuesday but will probably be asked not to come back after this week as will bust the scales Thought I'd be smart and try no count this week...no count no problem! I took this as free food week. PH was pizza pig out, last night was bar b q pig out and today we went to the seaside as it was such good weather and ended up with fish and chips. I did say no to ice cream but only as i don't like it!!!!

K bear, i guess the others answered this, but last time i did ww my mum tried to be good and saved too many points a day and really struggled to shift any weight. If you have points to use at the end of the day I often find a glass of wine uses them fairly rapidly!!!

KBear · 30/04/2005 21:17

You caught me! Sitting here with wine as we speak - I figure today is a write-off. Going to a BBQ tomorrow but i know there will be plenty of salads and lean meat - my friend understands the deal that when you are eating healthily you don't want to blow it by eating profiteroles (grrrr to MIL!).

I make sure I'm never a bore by saying "ooh no, can only eat lettuce" I eat healthy options when I'm out but I was full at lunchtime and didn't want dessert but MIL kept on and on about "dieting" which I don't call it - in front of my DD especially - I call it my healthy eating plan.

Thanks for your help all!

linnywith2 · 01/05/2005 11:01

oh my god i was so bad last night! went out for family meal to lovely chinese restaurant..
had eaten approx 10 pts yesterday up to meal so i figured that'd cover main course..
but everyone else was gettin a starter so of course i couldnt sit and not have one.. and had lots of wine, followed by lots of beer afterwards so think i prob went over daily pt allowance by 100pts..
will try to make up for it over next few days weigh in is thurs so i have few days to undo all the bad i've done hopefully..
half pound to lose for a stone so really want to do that at least..
