Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Day 2. And now I am organised am pretty much ok. Not hungry at all in fact struggling to eat the 5 meals a day. I have tried the veg soup which was not to my taste . The omelettes are delicious. I had the soufflé today which was ok and the hot chocolate is great if your fancying something sweet.
The supplements are horrendous. Every time I take any, they make me physically vomit, which is no good as I have to take heart tablets at he same. Will speak to the clinic to see what I can do.

All in all so far so good and genuinely feel better already, less bloated. I have around 3 stone to lose will let you know how I get on after week one

Easteregg123 · 16/08/2013 17:47

I saw this diet in an inflight magazine. It's really expensive. Works out at around 800 to 1000 pounds a month. I read up loads about it on forums etc and all seemed positive if you stick rigidly to the diet and don't deviate
I have just started I am on day 2 and once I got organised bits a breeze

Easteregg123 · 16/08/2013 17:48

Hi KJM how did it go. Have you started yet ?

NUFC69 · 18/08/2013 16:26

Easteregg - I discovered that I had to take the Quinton phials after I had had a sachet, not before - if it's not TMI, the odd time I did it the other way round, I was straight to the loo to vomit!

Now up to 5 stone off and about to start on phase 3.

Good luck to you all.

Floozysoozy · 18/08/2013 22:49

Hello all alizonners!!!
Wow you are all doing so amazingly!!!!! Well done you all!!!!
I have had my bloods taken and have my consultation with the doc on Saturday - I am nervous to say the least!!! I love chocolate, crisps, biscuits, pizza .............. Hence why I need alizonne!!! My worry is I cannot cope without all my rubbish and I cheat or give up :0(
I need to do this as we are going to try ivf again (we had a little boy from ivf 2 yrs ago and would like another!!!) I have pcos but apart from all that am giddy at the thought of being a skinny Minnie again! I've lost all of my confidence and even hide from people I used to know because I've put so much weight on !!!
How do you overcome those feelings when your sachet is horrible or you're bored stiff with the sachets? And also having to take the horrid salt water every day??? Just so scared of parting with all that money and then giving up or failing :0/
Any advice would be HUGELY appreciated!!!

Keep up the good work!!!
Xxx

KJM2013 · 19/08/2013 11:12

EasterEgg I am on day 5 now and getting the hang of it. The weekend was the biggest struggle getting all the meals in, especially if you get the luxury of a lie-in or have a day out and need to take a cool box of tupperware tubs with all your meals and salads! The vial is the worst supplement, I down it followed by a good glug of water but the initial taste I am getting used to.
So far sachet wise, the hot choc, mushroom soup and fine herb omelette have been the best. The pizza was a little weird to taste, the mango drink nice but very sweet! The other sachets I bought in my first week were choc and pear dessert and the oatmeal, which I am fairly indifferent about.
I have about 3 stone to lose like you, good luck!

NUFC69 · 19/08/2013 17:43

Easteregg - one of the things that kept me going was the thought of all the money I was spending (mean, me?) The sachets I like are: the hot chocolate, vanilla dessert, oatmeal (which I have with rhubarb every morning for breakfast), salmon blinis, the sheep's cheese (which is extremely versatile). When I started in the spring I was also buying boxes of mixed soups and the odd cheese omelette. I was given a good recipe book which did help me (my therapist says that people who cook tend not to get bored so quickly). Oh, and I bought chicken nuggets and potato pie, too.

Probably my favourite meal was to do a vegetable casserole on the hob with things like spring onion tops, aubergine, mushrooms, courgette, spinach, to which I added cheese and potato patties made by mixing together half a packet of sheep's cheese and half a packet of potato pie, and then I would pop it into the oven for twenty minutes - delicious.

I am just starting Phase 3 (hooray!). I have about 3 and a half kg to lose now.

NUFC69 · 19/08/2013 17:45

Floozy - sorry, that last post was for you. I have found the whole thing incredibly easy, by the way. Good luck!

Floozysoozy · 19/08/2013 18:22

Oh wow!!! How do you know to half sachets and mix??? Is that in the recipe book??? You're all doing so well I hope I can too :0/
It's so good to read about everyone's success and I must say has made me feel so much easier about it all! I have been reading all the blogs it's fab encouragement!!!!
Thanks so much for replies xxx

NUFC69 · 19/08/2013 20:27

Floozy, it is certainly in my recipe book - I checked the weight on the front of the boxes and just took it from there. The other thing which is nice is the Aubergine Bake (which has a fancy name in the recipe book). PM me if you need any help.

janet1504 · 19/08/2013 22:53

Hi I'm on day 4 and getting the hang of it but struggling with the water. Really difficult to drink it all when I am away from the office a lot of my day.
I am interested in the "white recipe book" that is referred to in some messages. Can I get hold of it from anywhere? I am struggling with the food really. I can cope with the orange and orange & grapefruit drinks but can't survive on them for the next few months. I tried the cheese omelette on my first breakfast, which turned out more linke scrambled egg, but only managed about 2/3s am still struggling to fine things that I like. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

janet1504 · 19/08/2013 22:54

Ps where can I buy rhubarb at this time of the year?

Floozysoozy · 20/08/2013 11:31

Nufc69 Thank you - I may just well pm you when I get started!!!! (you'll have to tell me how to tho - im new to all this lark!!!! ;0D) xxx

NUFC69 · 20/08/2013 13:41

Janet - I get my fresh rhubarb from the greengrocer or my DH buys it from a stall outside the village hall. Asda do a container of frozen which I used all through the spring until the fresh came into the shops. I had (until I started phase 3 this morning) oatmeal with rhubarb every morning and found it very filling. The oatmeal takes a minute in the microwave, and the frozen rhubarb about three minutes, so not long to cook.

With regard to the "white" recipe book - my clinic (Silverlink Newcastle) gave it to me - have a word with your clinic next time you go.

I don't find drinking the water a problem at all: I have an empty litre bottle and I make sure that I drink and fill that three times a day; this means that I always know how much I am having.

Floozy - if you want to PM me look at the bar with my name on at the start of this post and at the right hand end as you look at it, it says "Message Poster" - just click on that and you will see what to do. When there is a reply if you look at the "My Mumsnet" box which as almost at the top of the page, there is an envelope in the box; if there is a reply there is a mark there. HTH

Floozysoozy · 20/08/2013 20:07

Nufc69 - thank you ;0D I'll try it!!! I'm going to the silverlink in Newcastle on Friday to start!!! Aaaarrrrrrgggghhhhh! Am scared!!!!
I actually live in Carlisle so will be going there in the future but my first one in Newcastle!!!! I'm dying to find out about it all! Can u wear knickers for the treatments???

NUFC69 · 20/08/2013 20:38

Floozy - the staff at Newcastle are lovely (and it's very easy to find), I am sure you'll get on fine. They give you a very natty white bodysuit for the treatment and it's probably not a good idea to wear your pants under it. Make sure that you have your photo taken at the beginning so you can see how much better you look at the end.

The treatment is a doddle and I find it quite relaxing, to be honest. You will find that you will probably want to go to the loo a lot at the beginning, but it does ease off. I always carry water with me at all times now. You might find it a good idea to buy some extra sachets the first couple of visits to give you a bit more variety (£20 for seven). I found the variety boxes quite useful at first until you work out what you like and at Silverlink there is a chest of drawers with oddments in that you can use to swap anything you find you don't like.

The diet has just totally revolutionised my life - I am like a different person and it has been worth every penny for me. Bought a pair of size 14 M and S trousers today so really pleased with myself (to be a size 14 was always my target as I am a GM and don't want to look haggard!). Good luck and keep in touch.

Floozysoozy · 20/08/2013 21:03

Of wow u must be so proud of yourself! That's amazing how you've stuck to it! An inspiration defo!! Thank you for the tips and if you don't mind you might be my backbone as of Friday........... ;0D xxx

Easteregg123 · 21/08/2013 22:06

I keep saying to myself "nothing tastes like skinny feels. I have just completed week one the longest week of my life. Am going for my first weigh in tomorrow so will let you know how I get on

NUFC69 · 22/08/2013 16:16

Easteregg - well done, how did you get on? The first week is the worst and then you have a good loss and start to feel wonderful!

KJM2013 · 22/08/2013 17:22

Week 1 weigh-in complete and 2.5kg lost! Hurrah! Roll on weeks 2, 3, 4........

Easteregg123 · 22/08/2013 17:38

Well done KJM I went for my weigh in today and have lost 7lb and 2 oz think that about 3 kilo so am well chuffed. Miss my wine though. ; )

Floozysoozy · 22/08/2013 18:19

Amazing - well done easteregg and kjm - you are certainly inspiring me!!!!

NUFC69 · 23/08/2013 09:08

I know how you are feeling KJM and Easteregg - sheer exhilaration of a job well done and an excellent result.

I am finding that I have difficulty eating the quantity of porridge I should on Phase 3 - and I would never have thought that possible.

Good luck today Floozy - although you won't need it.

Floozysoozy · 24/08/2013 14:03

Thank you nufc! Well that's it! Starting on Wednesday I think (little boy in nursery that day so easier for treatments etc!)
Still very nervous I have to say - how do you cope without (proper) food for a few months?!?! :0/
I was terrified of having the treatments after reading a few of the comments but they were absolutely fine! Love the bodysuit .........NOT!!!! Nobody mentioned the size of the phials!!!! Bloody hell I'm not surprised everyone struggles with them!!!! Not looking forward to those I must say!!! And what do you do with the things in the tube??? :0/
I can't wait for the end result tho so excited!!!!
You're all so inspirational it's lovely to read all the success stories!!! :0D xxx

NUFC69 · 24/08/2013 20:02

Floozy - well done. Actually the phials aren't really a problem, but I do make sure that I take mine after I have had a sachet because on the odd occasion I took them first, I threw up! The tablets in the tube just go in water and taste quite nice, as does the calcium tablet which you take in the evening.

And, please, don't think that you can't have proper food, because you can - I now eat things that I never touched before. I know I am on phase 3 now, but tonight I had vegetable casserole (recipe in the book) with my small piece of tuna - it was delicious: just fried aubergine, spring onion tops, celery, green pepper, and small pieces of courgette, asparagus and mushrooms, in a tomato sauce. I have been very careful to make sure that I weigh everything (digital scales are excellent for this diet as I can be very precise).

How long do they think it will take you? I have only one more review and treatment before I go away on holiday and then, when I come back, I should be on phase 8!
