Hi Orlapup - I hope one of the long termers sees this and posts. It'll probably take 12 weeks - it depends on your starting BMR and more. The clinic GPs are good at estimating how long it will take. Men lose faster than women in part because of the time of the month.
From what I've seen, almost everyone has great results. Ask the clinic if they have open days or if you can meet some people who have kept it off long term.
If you cheat, it takes longer as you loose 3 days in ketosis. So that's expensive.
In case the long term succesful Alizonners don't post, this may help.
The success rate on long term depends on your committment to adopt a new way of eating, your new 'normal' way of eating for life.
The clinic says the hard work begins when you finish the regimented protein sachets. They take you through a carefully planned period to get you back to a fully regular diet. The systematic eating of salad at lunchtime and vegetables in the evening is, in part, training you to eat well without high fat and snacks.
Alizonne is called weight reduction, not a diet, as it's a system to get you fast to your goal weight and keep you there. The period of clinical monitoring continues for a year after you are at goal. By staying at goal for a year, you demonstrate the life skills and restraint to stay at the weight you and the GP choose.
Alizonne isn't a magic bullet forever. 40% of Alizonners keep it off long term. You have to be committed to stop doing whatever made you fat. If you aren't, then you will fail to stay slim. You may also need to sort your head out with hynotherapy or counselling. Your clinic can advise you on some good people if you need this.
The clinic will help you by checking your blood pressure every week, running blood tests regularly, and most importantly working out your basal metabolic rate again when you get to a weight you are happy with. They then help you work out how to have food which will keep you fit, healthy and happy. You go monthly to be weighed and keep on track. After a year, they'll check your BMR again. It's vital as many of us screw up our BMRs through frequent dieting and your level of exercise also has an impact so the on-line calculations you can find on the web may not apply to you.
To OMGPeople - most of us have tried WW, online programmes and more. I will be on the sachets for 8 months, something much more achievable for me than 2 years on 1,200 calories a day. I have started that route several times and been unable to sustain it. If it was easy for us, we wouldn't be paying Alizonne clinics so much money. And the cost is also leverage to keep on track.
In contrast to those programmes, I have felt full on this programme so temptations are mental, not physical hunger, and have lost a stone in 3 weeks.
The ultrasound treatments are medically proven. I was sceptical - but can already see the impact on the places that have ultrasound. It really does reduce the fat in the cells. The fat cells stay there, of course. I do not want to have an apronectomy or full body lift when I have shed 100lbs. It's a high risk operation. I also don't want an apron of skin hanging down for the rest of my life. If they say endermologie helps skin retract, then I am willing to pay for that too. I have also seen people who have lost 5-7 stones and have no excess skin aprons despite having had huge tummies.
I am so capable in every other aspect of my life, it's been really hard to deal with my previous inability to loose weight and keep it off. the size of the task seemed overwhelming. Alizonne is helping me shed the lbs and will give me a way of living and eating so I can stay at an ideal weight.
So it's worth every penny to me. I'll post back here from time to time to keep you all posted.
3laine: not sure why you can't post - you dont need an avatar. Ask at your clinic next time you are there. Look forward to seeing you there.
