Just seen this advertised in National Press.

Has anyone ever tried it?

Is it pricey?

More to the point, Does it really work?

I'm intrigued..... I had never heard of this programme before...

Oinker:

Sorry - the answer to your question is Yes - I know two people who have lost 7 stone and 5 stone in as many months and kept it off.

It costs costs c£250 per week at first for bood tests, GP appointment, sachets and treatments then dropping down to c£220 per week (yes that's £800+ per month). The cost makes it compelling to follow the rules of what salad and veg you can eat. Some are unlimited - so you can have massive salads at lunchtime and good veg portions in the evenings. You stage off the sachets as you get nearer to your target weight, having more protein and then fruit and some carbs - and you keep going back weekly until you have stabilised. They say that its actually hardest when you've finished and need to maintain the good habits and portions sizes that you have learnt whilst on the programmes. You go back monthly for one year to keep you on track.

It requires huge commitment and organisation - no variations because you are going to a 40th birthday party or a wedding. Successful Alizonners keep it up whilst on holiday or at conferences and dinners.

If you want to get to a normal weight enough, call your local clinic and ask them for more info. They'll probably have an info session soon.

good luck whatever you decide,

Ali

hi....I did this diet.. and YES...it did work...the first 3 weeks were the hardest...then it just became a part of life....but after 1 year of finishing the weight went back on.!!!!!! Soooo I did it again....but this time round....instead of thinking a quick fix....I totally changed my eating habits....and now follow slimming world......the weight will come off...but unless you change your lifestyle it will go back on.....so my message to you ..is when you have finished do not go back to old eating habits because it is so easily done ........I lived on caramel and chocolate drinks...Good luck..

Hi all active alizonne followers!!

I've been to see the doctor and had my initial medgem test and blood test, and will start the diet on 3rd jan. I've ready to do this as I have slowly put on weight in the last 2 years and now I am 10kg heavier. I don't do any exercise so the weight isn't shifting. My target is to loose 1stone and a half, which I know is not as much as some ladies here have lost but hopefully I can receive and give the same advice/support to you.

Can anyone recommend how I should choose the food? Is it better to buy two weeks worth of food so that there is an option to mix and match?

Also, has anyone also got 1.5 stones to loose? im a bit concerned that the stubborn area around my hips will need more treatment sessions than the number of weeks i will be on the sachets. has anyone tried more than 1 session of ultrasound per week?

Anyway, Merry Christmas and enjoy those last mince pies!!

betterman · 01/01/2012 19:46

Hi, so I have thought long and hard about going on this diet. The one question I have, concerns the testimonials on the website. Some of the people have really lost a great deal of weight and look super. But is this the norm in terms of people attending a clinic? Or are they simply the ones who it has worked best for?

What kind of success rate does the diet have? I am just worried that I am going to spend my savings on something that might not work out for me... Thanks for the help!

ShazzyDesires · 04/01/2012 21:29

Well Happy new year everyone.
I have done my 1st day on Alizonne and it has not been as tough as i thought.

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

OMGpeople · 04/01/2012 23:58

This is deranged ! ! !

You are paying £220 per week for cupa soups and a massage ? ? ?

Looking at what your eating, it's a starvation diet, the reason you are loosing weight is that your bodies have gone into ketosis. I came across this site /thread as I am looking for something to help me lose weight, more weight than some of you people have to lose, so don't think i'm knocking the desire.

You just cannot melt body fat, the cells mearly shrink, the fact that we are overweight means we probably have more fat cells than most people, around 250 billion compared to an everage persons 80 billion. The only way to burn fat is to cut calories and exercise.

It's unfortunatley a lifestyle change we need, not a quick fix, there is a reason we are all so overweight and unhappy we will buy into this drivel, there is a reason food is an issue and it's still going to be there after the fat has gone, only a lifestyle change will keep it away, one day something/someone will make you sad and you will eat cake, because thats what we do.

Best of luck, but really ? ? ?

OMGpeople · 05/01/2012 00:03

Forgot to say, I found it, www.nutracheck.co.uk

has an iphone app, loads for really nice people to support you, you eat normal foods and it's less than £5 per week !

People are seeing exactly the same results as you lot but in a healthy sustainable way that makes you feel in control and so so good !

Give it a shot and spend the other £215 per week on shoes, clothes and your kids !!!!!!

hi betterman
judging from myself and almost all of the people receiving treatment who post on the alizonne forum you can expect to lose a minimum of a stone a month. I am on week 12 and only have a stone left to lose now. when i was researching it for myself i liked to see actual figures so here's what i lost,
Week 1 5lb
week 2 4.5lb
week 3 3lb
week 4 3lb
week 5 2.2lb
week 6 5lb
week 7 1.7lb
week 8 2.2lb
week 9 3lb
week 10 0.4lb (on holiday)
week 11 0 (xmas)
week 12 2.8lb
i think i'm doing ok and back in my size 12s but most others who post have had much better loses than me - they are mabey not as partial to the odd fly mcd's and chinese. the money is justified for me because it a. stops me from cheating too badly & b. i can see things working fast and don't give up and have a mars bar because i'm only losing 1/4lb (sensiblly) every week. u are also monitored by a doctor who knows alot more about safely losing weight than u or me or any trollers out there. hope this helps.

are there any fellow alizonners who can give me a few pointers on posting on the forum?? i have access and it is a godsend sometimes to read everyones messages but i haven't been able to post - its probably really simple too. ta

3laine · 05/01/2012 23:57

hi fabs82

good luck - u should see the weight fall off in no time. i would get a good selection of the sachets to start with as everyone seems to have different tastes. ur clinic will probably have a swap box so u can get rid of any nasties. My favourites are the hot chocolate, bacon omlette, pizza, potatoe pie, chicken nuggets and oriental & oriental chicken soups.

i think you can still have treatments during and after phasing off if u are still worried about any troublesome areas - i don't think its worth you having the 2 treatments - my therapist advised me against it as i had 3.5stone to lose, saying it was only really helpful in people who had alot more to lose.

mabey see you on the forum if i ever work out how to post on it. x

Orlapup · 06/01/2012 13:56

Hi to everyone who has or is on Alizonne. I am seriously thinking of this but have reservations. Will I be hungry ? ... How many weeks to lose 2.5 stone ? and more importantly... any comments from anyone who has kept it off after 6 months or more... thanks

AGal · 06/01/2012 15:47

Hi Orlapup - I hope one of the long termers sees this and posts. It'll probably take 12 weeks - it depends on your starting BMR and more. The clinic GPs are good at estimating how long it will take. Men lose faster than women in part because of the time of the month.

From what I've seen, almost everyone has great results. Ask the clinic if they have open days or if you can meet some people who have kept it off long term.

If you cheat, it takes longer as you loose 3 days in ketosis. So that's expensive.

In case the long term succesful Alizonners don't post, this may help.

The success rate on long term depends on your committment to adopt a new way of eating, your new 'normal' way of eating for life.

The clinic says the hard work begins when you finish the regimented protein sachets. They take you through a carefully planned period to get you back to a fully regular diet. The systematic eating of salad at lunchtime and vegetables in the evening is, in part, training you to eat well without high fat and snacks.

Alizonne is called weight reduction, not a diet, as it's a system to get you fast to your goal weight and keep you there. The period of clinical monitoring continues for a year after you are at goal. By staying at goal for a year, you demonstrate the life skills and restraint to stay at the weight you and the GP choose.

Alizonne isn't a magic bullet forever. 40% of Alizonners keep it off long term. You have to be committed to stop doing whatever made you fat. If you aren't, then you will fail to stay slim. You may also need to sort your head out with hynotherapy or counselling. Your clinic can advise you on some good people if you need this.

The clinic will help you by checking your blood pressure every week, running blood tests regularly, and most importantly working out your basal metabolic rate again when you get to a weight you are happy with. They then help you work out how to have food which will keep you fit, healthy and happy. You go monthly to be weighed and keep on track. After a year, they'll check your BMR again. It's vital as many of us screw up our BMRs through frequent dieting and your level of exercise also has an impact so the on-line calculations you can find on the web may not apply to you.

To OMGPeople - most of us have tried WW, online programmes and more. I will be on the sachets for 8 months, something much more achievable for me than 2 years on 1,200 calories a day. I have started that route several times and been unable to sustain it. If it was easy for us, we wouldn't be paying Alizonne clinics so much money. And the cost is also leverage to keep on track.

In contrast to those programmes, I have felt full on this programme so temptations are mental, not physical hunger, and have lost a stone in 3 weeks.

The ultrasound treatments are medically proven. I was sceptical - but can already see the impact on the places that have ultrasound. It really does reduce the fat in the cells. The fat cells stay there, of course. I do not want to have an apronectomy or full body lift when I have shed 100lbs. It's a high risk operation. I also don't want an apron of skin hanging down for the rest of my life. If they say endermologie helps skin retract, then I am willing to pay for that too. I have also seen people who have lost 5-7 stones and have no excess skin aprons despite having had huge tummies.

I am so capable in every other aspect of my life, it's been really hard to deal with my previous inability to loose weight and keep it off. the size of the task seemed overwhelming. Alizonne is helping me shed the lbs and will give me a way of living and eating so I can stay at an ideal weight.

So it's worth every penny to me. I'll post back here from time to time to keep you all posted.

3laine: not sure why you can't post - you dont need an avatar. Ask at your clinic next time you are there. Look forward to seeing you there.

Ali

supermummmy · 12/01/2012 15:52

i did this diet for around 6 weeks and now my hair is falling out i look awful so pissed never again.

AGal · 22/01/2012 10:38

I'm sorry, supermummy, that it hasn't worked out for you. Alizonne's doing well for me. My hair and nails are good even though for the first week I only took the essential marine capsule once a day, not twice.

I'm now 5 weeks in and have lost 22lbs+. I'm due a weigh in and treatment so it's already more. My trousers need a belt.

I have caught myself a few times about to eat/taste something I was cooking. Apart from that, I haven't strayed once. The cost, the clarity of what we can eat and the satiation of the 5 sachets keeps me on track.

In the past 10 days I have had 3 days training, including a night in a hotel and 3 days holiday in the Norfolk Broads.

During the training, it was really strange not to want the biscuits, even when they were right in front of me.

I used blogger Disappearing Dawn's restaurant email at the hotel and got a great room service dinner. It was lovely and good not to cook for myself. I have raided mini bars a many continents over the past 10 years, so again it was wierd to be disinterested. The regular protein sachets really work for me.

At the B&B (The Moorhen in the centre of Horning - B&B and a lovely self catering family cabin which sleeps 5 and is right by Bewilderwood - a lovely children's adventure park) , we had cooked breakfast. I passed the landlady an ommlette mix already mixed up. She cooked it with a spray of oil, so I enjoyed eating breakfast with my DH.

Less good was the limited number of public loos in the Norfolk Broads. I have been behind more hedges in the past 3 days than I have in the past 30 years......

Next weigh in and treatment in a few days.

suzekirk02 · 30/01/2012 20:48

Hi all, thank god I have found another blog, I am having my bloods done this week and I have booked my consultation, I know you normally have the bloods done after youve seen the doc but I am keen to start as soon as possible.

I have 4 stone to loose and with that will be a size 10, that sound very strange for me because even when I was slim before I have never bought a size 10. I was booked onto have a gastric band but decided against it in the end in case anything went wrong I have my son to think off.

I had a misscarrige in Jan ( I AM OK) and we do want more children but we are going to wait now till the summer to try again, as it was our 2nd in a row, oct then Jan. My mum says I am crazy for spending this money then going to get pregnant, but with the BMR being done at the end thats a very usful tool for me then I will aslo use it with my fitness pal on my phone, I have created my own meals and worked out Kals already and even cup cakes cos I cant say I will never eat one again, but what I can do is control my weight better by using the real BMR and what I can consume before gaining any weight.

I am a size 16/18 at the moment, and my family up north no I am always dieting as do half of FB and friends, so I CANT WAIT to visit my friends and family in May when they wont know how much I have lost and they will be so shocked.

Anway people, good luck and I will keep you posted on my journey.

Oh ps, I am having my consultation next tues and meant to be starting the wed, but I am exhibiting at the spring fair at the NEC, for those of you who are already on it, whats the best way to deal with this? make it all before I go? I am getting the train up the to the NEC, I will be there all day then the train baK

LadyJones · 30/01/2012 21:00

Hi all Alizonners...

I am inspired having read all the comments and will be ringing the clinic to make my appt tomorrow.

My only concern is that I go on holiday in 9 weeks and am worried about how I will manage whilst I am away...do I just accept that my 2 week holiday may set me back a couple of weeks?

Anyone faced the same situation?

suzekirk02 · 30/01/2012 21:59

lady Jones, it depends on how much you have to loose. You will prob have lost 3 stone by then.

AGal · 31/01/2012 13:05

LadyJones:
Welcome. Talk to your doctor about your plan. You'll be so capable at doing Alizonne by then that if you are still on the plan, you will probably stay on Alizonne whilst on holiday. See Disappearing Dawn's blog for hoe to ask hotels etc to stay on track. You'll be so motivated, I doubt you'll want to loose three weeks plus (and the cash) by coming off and restarting. I've eaten in posh places and simple, and if you are going somehwere warm, you'll be able to have great salads and veg to complement your sachets.

Suze: I post here as it was one of the few places I found info about the plan when I googled it. So I decided I would post here to share my experience.

I'm glad you are not having surgery as this will work well as half the cost. the key issue is to be ready to have a new normal, a differet way of eating when you are at goal.

You can make up everything before you go to Birmighman. Maybe take cucumber chunks and cut up fennel for your salad and use your oil allowance in a dressing to dip. The main issue will be proximity to the ladies. You need to drink enough waterand most of us spend a lot of time, especially in teh early days in the toilets. You need to drink throughout the day so as not to overload yr system. It's essential to avoid gallstones and enable yr liver to work well breaking down the waste in the fat you are releasing to the wild.

See you and LadyJ on the Alizonne Forum. Good luck!

Ali

LadyJones · 31/01/2012 16:43

Thanks girls

Feeling a little flat spoke to the clinic and they have said I should wait and start the programme upon my return there view is that I will undo all the good I achieve between now and going away!

AGal · 01/02/2012 20:24

Great idea, LadyJones. see you in the Forum in April!

Ali

suzekirk02 · 02/02/2012 12:18

Agal.. thanks for that info, I will see if I can sort it all out Tuesday night after I have been to the first appointment, if not then I will wait till the Thurs, dont fancy having to go pee on the train too much, those toilets are, well shall we say not nice.

LadyJones, oh it would be such a shame to wait 9 weeks, think of the weight you could of lost by then, Did you say you are going on a ALL INC I cant remember. It depends if you want to loose weight before you go or could wait.

good luck

3laine · 19/02/2012 14:43

hey ladyjones
i agree with the others - i've been on holiday on alizonne, just stuck to a phase 2 week ( one sachet replaced with meat for evening meal). and got a letter from the doc incase there were any questions about the sachets going through customs - no problems tho.

3laine · 19/02/2012 14:47

gd luck suzekirk - i love myfitnesspal also its great for the phasing off part of alizonne - i've already got some of the sachets details filled in on there so that will save you some time once you start lol

AGal · 21/02/2012 17:08

Time for an update. 8 weeks in and 40lbs released to the wild.

Just another 80-120lbs left to shed! I have a goal but will wait to see how my face looks to see if I will stop at 12stone or 10.

I can't believe 8 weeks have passed so fast. This now seems absolutely achievable as I have some good routines for sachets, veggies and salads at home and on the road. The Forum is useful for insights into how others are doing, and how people at maintenance are keeping it off. I also use another forum for daily chat.

suzekirk: Hope you've had a great start.

3laine: I'll see you on myfitnesspal sometime this summer!

HI EVERYONEEE!!.. :) i am really considering allizone, iv dun abit of research on it and started saving up for the money. i am currently 12 stone 10 and want to get back down to 9 stone. Feel really dipressed and unhappy about my weight, tried everything but nothing worked. i even had the GASTRIC BALLOON 8 months ago abroad in prague and i only lost 1 stone after having it in for 6 months ( i was 12 half stone when i had it done) . i wouldnt advise the gastric balloon to anyone, it was the worst decision i ever made... i went through alot of pain and spent 1st 2 weeks in hospital due to dehydration. you cannot lie on your belly at any time and you can feel the balloon inside you ITS HORRIBLE! and you just throw up as soon as you stomach is full. The effects of feeling full only lasted 2 MONTHS !!! and within the 2 months i only lost a stone and that was entirely from constant throwing up and stomach pains. i started realising my weight just wasnt shiftin anymore and 6 months later... As soon as i had the balloon out i started feeling so hungry and realised because my stomach was depending on the balloon to make me feel full i started eating more and piling on the wait so rapidly. i realised no temporary surgery was going to fix my weight problem and i would have to use my own strenghth and will power. atm i cant even look at myself in the mirror i weigh havier then i did before i had the gastric balloon and im willing to do anything for a rapid weight loss. i no its going to be hard sticking to the alizonne diet but i really just want to shift the weight of me cuz its just making me feel dipressed.. could anyone give me any advice? im afraid it wont work just like the balloon didnt and ill end up wasting my money again... is there anyone it hasnt worked for? and do you have to excersize?? SORRY ABOUT THE LONNNGGG ESSSAAYYYY!!
