What is going on???? Followed my diet absolutely perfectly since Monday - and have put on 2lbs?? Tell me it is just due to totm please. Will I EVER get to 8st something? Grrrr.

Evesmama · 03/03/2005 10:03

according to my ols s.w consulatant anything from 1lb-3lb is normal at totm.

dont let it dishearten you though, its just excess water, not fat!

miam · 03/03/2005 10:42

Thanks Evesmama. Serves me right for weighing myself every day .

Loobz · 03/03/2005 19:54

I am in agony, my hip, arm, neck and head are all really sore as a result of my fall yesterday. Then I got an eyelash in my eye today and of course rubbed it - result = one very red and sore eye. Nobody would chat me up looking like this lol - not even dh!!!
On a plus point, have had another really good day. The motto is working girls - Hope everyone else is having a good day.
Miam - it probably is just fluid retention - hang on on there

Evesmama · 03/03/2005 20:46

what an awful day you must have hadbut well done on the slimming side
send me some 'be good' vibes will ya? am starving!

mammya · 03/03/2005 21:05

Hi everyone, well this week I haven't lost anything but then again haven't gained anything either! Which was a relief because I was convinced I'd put on another 2lbs!
Wishing you all a great weight loss this week.

coppertop · 03/03/2005 21:05

Sounds like a painful day, Loobz. Ouch!

I've lost 1lb this week but have given in to the temptation of chocolate stars today so it may well creep back on.

Loobz · 04/03/2005 06:59

Evesmama, {{{{{{{{{{{Good Vibes}}}}}}}}}}}} floating across cyberspace to you
Well done Coppertop. I must be lucky - I hate these chocolate stars - must be the only thing though
I read an article in a magazine last night whcih was saying something along the lines of we should be good 80% of the time and can be bad 20% of the time - think it was to maintain weight though not to lose but Oh if only it was the other way round - Imagine being bad for 80% of the time and not gaining weight - Yeah and then I woke up - wishful thinking!
Have a good day everyone

and well done trefusisthats a fab loss

LunarSea · 04/03/2005 10:45

Aaargh, it's happened again. I'd been really good, and had lost last week's end of week gain, plus a bit more, so I was down 3.25lbs by Wednesday night, which would mean just over the 6 stone mark. So I was feeling quite pleased with myself and was convinced that I would have some sort of loss to report this week.

But then yesterday morning we had a meeting with our new MD which was followed by a buffet where it was obligitory to stand around and chat, etc. Only there was nothing on the buffet, other than the salad garnish, which was wheat free so I ended up having two small prawn sandwiches - a grand total one slice of brown bread. And by Thursday night I'd not only regained that 3.25 lbs but another one too.

So up 1lb on the week and right back where I was 5 weeks ago.

Ever get the feeling that this dieting lark is a bit like a game of snakes and ladders - only they forget to put any ladders on and put extra snakes where the ladders should have been?

Still - I know that it'll take a few days to get over the wheat effect so there's no real chance of losing any for a bit now, so I'm going out for a curry tonight and will at least be able to blame any weight-gain consequences on the wheat instead of the curry!

moonshine · 04/03/2005 10:57

Trouble is for me I am being bad 80% of the time, and good 20% of the time - oops! 1 lb on for me this week - I'm blaming the stress of little sleep going on this house, amongst other things (and it isn't due to partying sadly).

Some good losses - well done all. Lunarsea, I can see why you are frustrated but am still in awe that you have lost nearly 6 stones. How much more have you got to lose?

LunarSea · 04/03/2005 11:26

moonshine - on Wednesday I needed to lose another 15.75lbs, now it's 20lbs. Which could take a long time at the current rate of (non) progress.

I rather suspect that managing to lose so much last year was down to eliminating wheat though (or more to the point gaining it in the first place was down to not knowing that I needed to avoid wheat) rather than anything I was doing right then and wrong now, as I'm not eating any more now than I was then (less if anything) AND I'm getting a lot more exercise. So logically I should be losing more now than I was last year, but it's just not happening.

Perhaps it's a seasonal thing and it'll start to work a bit better when it gets warmer again?

Demented · 04/03/2005 11:30

The nearer to target you get the more difficult it all seems to become.

Demented · 04/03/2005 11:33

Add to that being told you look fantastic and told you don't need to lose any more doesn't help with the motivation. I feel like shouting you haven't seen my stomach!!! I may be a 12 but sometimes it's a bit of a tight 12 at times (as I found out yesterday trying on some black trousers), could just do with that extra half stone or so off!
