Well done you for suggesting that! I'm sure they didn't think you were causing an earthquake! I just played a game of tennis in the park with ds - my dh was horrified that I don't run for the ball. I just feel too heavy to run at the moment, walking is fine.

Had a salad tonight with prawns and some granary bread, was delicious. Then had a yoghurt - not feeling hungry yet, it would be this time normally the teas and biscuits would come out.

PinkChick · 02/08/2008 21:19

ooh well done Clire, sounds like theyre working, its amaizing how it makes you feel isnt it..i can have mine first thing and not have anything too eat for a while but STILL feel full..thats why im ok if like today i dont get chance to eat for lunch, obv i know i need to, but AFAIC it wont kill me being my weight, i just dont do it on purpose..glad you had fab day..i wouldnt be running for no ball either!

sorry CLAIRE..youll get used to my crap typing

RGPargy · 02/08/2008 21:31

Claire - I'm very impatient too and have also tended to give up easily in the past. However, i realise now that it hasn't taken me 2 weeks to put on 7 or 8 stone so it's not going to take 2 weeks to come off! The average i think is about 18 months to 2 years so it IS a long haul, but the slower it comes off, the better (in a sensible way of course!!). I'm like you too - last chance saloon for me as well!!

Pink - well done on your meal out!! at you racing DS! There's no way i can even run a step at the moment, let alone RACE anyone! haha!! Well done you!!

KelaH · 03/08/2008 15:30

Hi all, have I really been away long enough that you have started a new thread???

I'm up to 51 lbs lost now

How is everyone else doing?

RGPargy · 03/08/2008 16:04

hi Kelah! Wow, 51lbs! Well done!!

I'm still struggling a little here - only lost about 16lbs and seem to be stuck in a rut of going up 2lb, going down 2lb etc.

KelaH · 03/08/2008 18:03

RG - do you know what is causing that?

jaz236 · 03/08/2008 18:15

oh my gawd 51lbs that is brilliant!! well we have been out for sunfay dinner carvery and i only had the veg the meat looked vile - but i had an ice cream sundae - which is bad but oh soooooooooooooooooo lovley - but im going on the treadmill tonite for 30 mins

RGPargy · 03/08/2008 19:40

KelaH - well i think it's caused by my recent return to work last week (2 days a week). I've been so gutted that i have to return to work after being on mat leave and i'm feeling so fed up about it. My job isn't stressful or anything but i just really dont want anyone else to look after DD while i have to go back to work! So yeah, i think that's the underlying reason!

Jaz - Yummy!!!!!

ChirpyGirl · 03/08/2008 19:48

HI there, can I play?!

I have prob 6 and a ahlf stone to lose but am not 100% as I refuse to have scales in the house! Am off to town tomorrow so will weigh myself in boots as a starter...

Have started trying to 'swap' things in my diet as I have 2 LOs' 2.6 and 10 months, and find I just need to graze all day or they exhaust me, but I have had no bread for 4 days now and am swapping it for fruit and veg....

RGPargy · 03/08/2008 19:50

Hi Chirpy! Welcome to the group!

Well done on swapping things, especially the bread. I love bread, but only have it once a day as toast for breakfast.

Good luck at Boots.

PinkChick · 03/08/2008 20:01

Hi Chirpy, welcome.

RG - can't see too much wrong with what you are eating, maybe a bit too much cheese? Are you drinking plenty of water? Coz that can make a difference.

Pink - great news on the dress - isn't it great when you can see the weight loss

My WW leader gave us an interesting visual the other week - she had melted some lard and poured it into a water bottle (just a small one, picture it), and that was a pound of fat!!! So every pound you lose is that much fat gone. She suggested doing that (melting a pound of lard etc) and keeping it in the fridge as a visual reminder of just what an achievement it is to lose even one pound.

PinkChick · 04/08/2008 08:47

KelaH, our SW consulatant had a 2lb peice of silicone that she handed round class, it looked gross, yellow faty lump..and thats what you'd lost(when you lost 2lb)..that was a good visual, theyre fab arnt they

weeeelllll..i have just got weighed....and have lost 3lb last week (although official weigh day is tues, so) and i am got down to ..da.da.da.da.da.da.daaaaaaaaaa 14st 12lb..1bloodylb off 2 stone....sorry am not big headed really, just oevr the moon and know you all know what it fels like..fel free to tell me to shut up

RGPargy · 04/08/2008 12:03

Well done on the dress Pink, that's great!!! Well done also on getting down into the 14st bracket. I'm not really - honest!! Got a fair way to go yet before i get anywhere NEAR that.

Funny you should talk about WW visuals! Went to WW this morning and she had some little parcels of lard wrapped in clingfilm. Each one represented the fat content of certain foods. She had one there for a marsbar, one for a bag of crisps, one for a pork pie, etc etc. Quite effective i think as i'll be thinking about how much fat is in stuff in block form now, rather than it just being a number that goes in my head and makes a hasty exit soon after. She also had a jar of water, into which she put a crushed up bag of crisps. All the potato sunk to the bottom and then the fat from them separated and left a nasty thick layer of fat on the top of the water. That made me think twice too! Thankfully i hardly have crisps so that wont be too hard to avoid.

KelaH - yeah i know cheese is bad - i love the stuff that's my problem. I have also been going over my points most days so really and truthfully i know where i'm going wrong. I just need to pull my socks up and stop feeling sorry for myself for having to go back to work.

So i got weighed today and i've lost half a pound. It's not a lot but at least it's in the right direction.

I've updated the list - not included your weight tho Pink as your day is tomorrow.

Ags -3.5 lbs -71 lbs
BananaKnickers -4.5lbs -4.5lbs
Chewing20times -5lbs -21lbs
Kelas -5lbs -31.5lbs
Jaz236 -14lbs!!!!!
Sandramaryb - 7lbs - 14lbs
Michie40 -? -7lbs
Sussies -2lbs -2lbs
RGPargy -0.5lb -17lbs
Chocolatespiders - 2.0lbs- 5.0lbs
Ria 00 00
SummatAndNowt -3lbs -3lbs
ChipButty -1.4lbs -9.2lbs
PinkChick -2lbs - 24lbs
Aero - 3lbs - 20.5lbs

PinkChick · 04/08/2008 13:11

thanks Chick, you've only hit a blip yorsefl, you ahve been doing really well, going back to work is a big thing, just dont let it spoil your hard work..you sound like me and kind of argue with yourself about wanting and needing things..Me:"yes i am stressed now wheres that 1/2 choc gatau from weekend".... and so the problem begins, i eat if im happy, i eat if im sad, i eat if im stressed, excited, upset..no need for occasion, I EAT!

OP posts:
PinkChick · 04/08/2008 13:13

and yes, well done a little 1/2lb a week is still nearly 2st in a year, so still a significant loss, it IS going in the right direction
