Hi Everyone

Well here i am at work, slogging my guts out (NOT!). The whole company is pretty quiet at the moment so i should be grateful that i've actually got a job to come back to! I'm just sitting at a spare desk today, catching up with emails, sodding around on the net etc lol. Missing my baby tho! There were no tears this morning from either of us, so that was a relief and as we'd had a few practice runs over the last couple of weeks, i found it quite easy to leave her with MIL this morning.

Hope you're all having a nice day!

PinkChick · 31/07/2008 20:08

hi everyone, how was your day RG? Bet you smotherd dd in kisses when you picked her up

well today has been quite good..let m see

breakfast was bran flakes with ss milk

lunch was small piece of home made corned beef pie(my mams 'slimming' pastry-very thin), some cherry toms

Dinner branflakes with ss milk..its too hot today, dont want 'food' and lvoe cereal was hooked on fattening alpen few weeks ago so bought branflakes instead now...how does that sound?..no snacks, no inbetweens, didnt eat anything with kids while out today(had picnic and visited mams who has hoards of icecreams and chocs!)

Hiya

Yeah she did get smothered in kisses when i picked her up but she was more interested in mummy's new posh work necklace lol. She was brilliant tho, especially once i'd got her home and gave her her milk. She was absolutely bushed as she hadn't slept this afternoon but went out like a light tonight.

Your menu doesn't sound tooooo bad (i'm just talking variety here) but i think you could do with having some fruit and veg in your menu Pink. Here's what i had today:

Breakfast : 2 x toast and jam

Lunch : Asda snackpot couscous, 1 bread roll, muller light yoghurt

Snacks : 1 banana, 2 apples

Plus water and a couple of cups of tea.

It's quite good for your metabalism if you "graze" all day - on non-fattening things, obviously.

jaz236 · 31/07/2008 21:44

Oh my gawd RG thats not alot you are eating there my dear?

Ags · 31/07/2008 22:53

God Pink and RG, you are putting me to shame! It sounds like you are on starvation diets there! And Bran Flakes twice in one day Pink! Nothing wrong with your bowels I imagine!!!

I had two bad days after weigh in so am desperately trying to claw some points back today and for the rest of the week. I am feeling very up for it though after buying a pair of SIZE 18 cut off jeans in the Next sale last night! I never honestly thought I would see the day.

Welcome piximon! You sound like a busy busy lady! A stone so far is fantastic especially with a brand new baby on the scene. Keep posting and let us know how things are going for you.

Mamadiva - keep up the good work. Sounds like you are doing exactly the right things to shed that pesky 6 stone!

RG, glad your first day went well back at work.

PinkChick · 01/08/2008 08:33

morning all..glad your first day was good Rg..and well done Ags on your jeans!, next ive found for me anyway are always a quite skimpy fit so a size 18 in their jeans is fan bloody tastic!...dp wants us to go buy some clothes for hol in morn, but im holding off a little longer, i would say that im also 18 on bottom now as jeans and trousers are ridiculously big on me and they are a 20..tops has always been on, have some things 16, some in 22!? diff shops i guess.

right well, its obv my day yesterday was pants, who am i kidding corned beef pie is crap food isnt it!..so today have cerreal(not bran flakes, i actually CANT do 'anything' on loo this morn, but have plenty of wind!..so think i will have tuna and salad sandwhich for lunch and will do gammon and jacket pot for dinner with tomas, lettuce, onion..i am making cakes with the children today, but if i plan to let them all eat one and take the rest home(dd can have one today then one later as i dont wants hers leaving 'at home'

soo fingers crossed i can stick to my word, i eed that will power back i had a few weeks ago, has anyone seen it???

right, havent had a cake..have sorted tham all out for mindees and new baby and family visiting today so have got some for them to nibble on...for lunch, i didnt want the house stinking of fish for my visit, so had tomatoes with grated cheese on toast..i know cheese isnt the best, but better than 4 cakes for lunch like id normally do..also gave the corned beef pie to mindees and dd for lunch with salad and picnicky things, so theyre ahppy too..oh and have been drinking water instead of anything else today, will try to do this all time and flush my system

RGPargy · 01/08/2008 13:24

Nooooooooooo!!!! I forgot to say that my menu was what i'd eaten SO FAR that day!!! I could never eat that little in a day - it's just not possible! As it turns out, DP brought home sausage and chips from the chippy Naughty but very VERY nice!

Ags - well done on the size 18s from Next!! I'm still in 24 bottoms and 22/24 tops.

Pink - well done for abstaining from the cakes! That must have been reeeeeally hard!!

Off to lunch in a minute. I've got a couscous snack pot again so i'm going to pop to Tesco and get a roll to go with it and a couple of bits of fruit too.

Curry night tonight! Wahey!!

jaz236 · 01/08/2008 22:37

Ags you are soooooooo right - they are both starving in comparison to what im eating aswell!

Im having porridge for breakfast with bananna - lunch with be zero points soup with couscous to bulk it out - the odd jacob cracker with a bit of cheese and for dinner I will have salad and couscous - and fruit for dinner - and the odd rich caramel toffe fatfighter toffee bar

RGPargy · 01/08/2008 22:46

Jaz - I'm not starving myself!! i hadn't put my dinner down on the list!! AAGGHHH!!! lol!!

PinkChick · 02/08/2008 08:26

LOL been through this with you before havent i RG..these tabs im on, make me full very quick, i cant eat a lot at all, although i agree i need more fruit/veg each day, but honest guv, im not starving

OP posts:
PinkChick · 02/08/2008 08:28

RGPargy · 02/08/2008 13:00

jaz236 · 02/08/2008 14:00

sorry RG, well i have been jean shopping today, a tight size 14 in next, a loose 14 in tesco and a nice fit at Primark. - plus i bought a size 12 dress that i can fit into if my belly goes - wohooooooooooooooo

although last nite i had too much wine and now today im paying for it! Ive had bacon and cheese sarnie to kerb this dreary hangover that is slowly kicking in. I am never ever going to drink again!!

Clairex · 02/08/2008 14:32

Hi Girls, do you mind if I join in too?

Hope you don't mind PinkChick, but I noticed on an earlier thrread that you were prescribed Reductil. Are you still taking it? How are you finding it? Its just that I got it prescribed yesterday and just had my first pill this morning. Feel kind of nervous... hoping that I will get a good loss though. I'm the same age as you - 31 and weigh in at 17st 1lb at the drs. However I can't go to see the dietician there because I work on the day she is there. So am joining WW on Tues and that will be my official weighing day.

So if you girls would let me join in too that would be fab, I am soooo motivated at the moment and can't wait to get slimmer.

PinkChick · 02/08/2008 14:56

Hi ClaireX, no problem, your welcome in..have been on reductil now...erm..6 weeks i think???..someone will put me right it will be on here somewhere?...once i took the first tab i felt 'full' without eating anything within the hour!, but i am also a very "mind over matter" person..which translates into i believe anything im told..but it worked for me, i just CANT eat normal size portions anymore, have TOTALLY gone off crap food like burger king and macdonnalds which i loved before, ive actually started getting the "light bites" or "smaller appetites" meals as i just CANT finsih normal sizes any more.

I havent been to dietician, i just cut down my portions, didnt even really eat 'better' in first few weeks and lost 12lb in first fortnight..i do go every 2 weeks to see nurse to be weighed and have blood pressure taken though as they can cause probs with that(you may feel it 5-10 mins after youve taken tab like me, but it goes straight away)..TBH i wouldnt bother with WW just yet, just be super aware of when your stomache is saying its full, you'll be amaised!

Good luck!

havent had lunch today though (sorry jaz and ags) been clothes shopping with dp and just not in mood, too hot and feel a bit sick?), will enjoy meal more later, will go earlier otherwise i will be starving and might order big pile of fatty stuff!

need 4lb off last weigh in to lose my 2st, got till week on tues, so a doing my best

ClaireX, you also dont weigh much more than i did when i started, so if you can feel the effects and feel full you should lose quite a bit, as we all lsoe lots of water the first week or two

OP posts:
Clairex · 02/08/2008 15:06

Really, wow. I'm so excited now, you have done so well. The reason I have said I would go to WW was so that I could support a friend and maybe learn some new recipe ideas. I would like to get into healthy eating as much as I can.

I am very mind of matter too and I think something has clicked inside me and can't wait. I do/did comfort eat a lot - evenings, during the day when bored - so am hoping I lose that habit.

Are you exercising?

RGPargy · 02/08/2008 15:12

Jaz - oooooo you go girl!! I'm very of you! Well done!

Clairex - hi claire and welcome! Deffo go with the WW thing (i'm on WW too) as i find going to the meetings to be a real crutch for me. I'm also a comfort eater - well, boredom eater really - so need to have low fat/healthy things in teh house for me to pick at when i've got the munchies.

Good luck!

PinkChick · 02/08/2008 15:14

not really, im a childminder so lots of walking but no excersize as such although its something im promising to do...in the 7 weeks (i think it is??) ive lost 24lb and havent been eating rabbit food at all, so it CAN be done if I can do it believe me

WW will prob help, i just didnt want you wasting you money at first but as you say will help with ideas

OP posts:
PinkChick · 02/08/2008 15:14

oops wasting your money as in the reductil will be helping mostly not neccesarily WW..oh god ill shut up now!

OP posts:
Clairex · 02/08/2008 15:58

Thank you girls

I'll go as I've promised a friend I would help her and I really want to change my eating habits - up until today I have been eating in a crazy way. Not having proper meals, just snacking, eating rubbish whenever I fet like it. So I really want to get back to eating 3 meals a day and light snacks.

Hopefully WW will give the reductil a boost. I'm so excited, I'm sure I'm setting myself up for a fall .

How do you all find the best way to set targets - or don't you?

I mean, do you all try and reach for the next stone or dress size - what are you first main goals? Mine is to get to a size 16 - that would be incredible. I'm a 22 at the moment.

RGPargy · 02/08/2008 17:40

The only tip I can give you Claire is to not set too high a goal for yourself as it will seem further away to reach than if you were to set yourself a mini-goal, if that makes sense?

So rather than saying "i want to be a size 16" (me too!), why not say "i want to get to a size 20". In no time you'll be there and it'll give you incentive to get down to an 18 etc.

My first mini goal is to get into the 17st bracket (i'm about 18.5 at the mo ) and trying to get there is what's keeping me going!

Hope that helps.

jaz236 · 02/08/2008 18:54

Thing is im only 5ft tall so im only tiny, so when im fat im fat! and it shows, my size 16 jeans are now to loose for me, and my size 18 pants are no longer needed -although have ruined myself tday after last nites drinking - but onwards and upwards i say!

Clairex · 02/08/2008 20:31

Thank you, yeah you're probably right. Problem has been with me that in the past I've been too impatient - if the weight hasn't come off quick enough, then I'll quit whatever diet I'm doing.

Feel differently this time, 1 because I've got more weight to lose this time and I know its not going to be a quick diet and I'll be slim, I'm now in for the long haul. Also kind of feel I'm in the last chance saloon, I know with the way I've been eating I would have easily put another stone on by Christmas.

PinkChick · 02/08/2008 20:34

evening girls, had lovely tea out, had chicken breast with huge salad (see i got my veggy's) and chips, left chips, let dp have some and left half of chicken(was HUUUGE) as was achingly full..mum and dd got desert, but dp and i said no and i had diet coke instead..then on way home dp wanted to take dd to new car wash about 5 minute walk from our house so she could have a go with pressure washer, when it was done i said we're walking home, race you!..and me and dd legged it across grass down street to our house(bet neighbours thought there was an earth quale..got there before him..but was absolutly knackerd!..felt good though

Hows everyone else been today then?
