Hi... hope everyone has had a good weekend.

We managed to raise over £1000 for church at the banquet and loads of people commented on how nice the food was.

We're so tired now though. We were cooking etc from 9am yesterday and we finally climbed into bed at 3am only for the kids to wake up at 7am!! We are counting down the minutes til bedtime now!

RiallyEeRiaee · 12/10/2008 21:49

well done Mel. Hope you get a restful night tonight.

I'm all ready for a new (but probably hectic) week...

RGPargy · 13/10/2008 14:56

Hi everyone.

Well done on the fundraising Mel!

Well i had my weigh in today and i've gained 4.5lbs in two weeks. It's funny, because i bought some new batteries for my scales the other day and then when i tried to step on them a couple of days ago, they wouldn't work. Turns out the batteries are completely dead, but they're brand new!! How annoying is that!! I'm wondering if maybe someone had left something on top of the scales for a long time, which means they would have been on for all that time. Dunno tho, could have just bought two duff batteries, even though they were in separate packs.... I think that me not having the scales was a BAD thing because it meant i couldn't keep an eye on how my weight was doing. I find that stepping on the scales daily helps me keep things in check, whereas because i've not been able to get on the scales before today, i've not taken too much notice of what i've eaten. Does that make sense?!

I'm going to buy new batters (again) today so that i can keep a close eye on things again.

[sad[ RG. I didn't bother get weighed this week.

Going ok again, but TOM

FairyMel · 14/10/2008 13:25

TOM here too and I've also been poorly the last 2 days so been eating little but had no energy to exercise. I have just got dressed for the 1st time since Sunday evening.

Weigh in tomorrow but my lovely dh has just come back from Morrisons with a packet of choccy biscuits to give me energy lol.

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 10:51

hope you enjoyed your biccies mel, hope youfeel better.

RGPargy · 15/10/2008 11:51

Hi everyone. Nothing to report really. I missed out on breakfast this morning at home and although i ate something when i got to work, i feel starrrrrrving!! Not sure if it has something to do with my extreme boredom tho lol.

Mel - hope you feel better soon!

FairyMel · 15/10/2008 15:29

Feeling a bit better today... thankyou .

I weighed myself and have stayed the same this week which I'm quite pleased with after a week of hardly any exercise and AF being here!

RGPargy · 15/10/2008 15:37

Well done mel!

I just bought more batteries for my bathroom scales. Cant believe the last pair ran out after a couple of days. They must have been faulty! Anyway, i'll be able to monitor things better once i can weigh daily again. I know you shouldn't weigh daily, but i've found it really helps to keep me focussed.

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 21:22

I'm a bit of a daily-weigher at times RG.

FairyMel · 16/10/2008 10:32

Yay for downward trends!!

I weigh myself daily too on the Wii Fit but only take it into account properly on a Wednesday lol. I know that between Wed and Friday last week I lost another 2lb but put it back on between Fri and Wed this week lol. Instead of admitting that one its kinder to say I stayed the same

Off for a walk round the park now... see you later!

RGPargy · 16/10/2008 21:50

woohoo stick with it Ria!!

RiallyEeRiaee · 16/10/2008 22:16

I did it (unless I have midnight sleepwalking munchies!)

As for tomorrow - bring it on

RGPargy · 17/10/2008 14:51

woohoo!! You go girl!!

I have discovered where i am going wrong i think. It's lunchtimes. I tend to want to have far too much to eat at lunch, i.e. a snackpot of couscous, a roll, a yoghurt, a WW choc bar and even a bag of snack-a-jacks too sometimes. Far too much i think and i reckon it's just habit. Today i just had couscous with my egg salad from Tesco (basically just a hard boiled egg, 5 cherry toms and lettuce) followed by a WW choc bar and i am now feeling quite full up! If i can watch where i'm going wrong i should hopefully start to lose in no time.

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 15:58

we're on a roll RG

RGPargy · 17/10/2008 17:10

Aren't we just!! DP is out for the night tonight so i wont be tempted to have booze and curry either! Hoorah!!

FairyMel · 17/10/2008 17:26

Well done! My scales were suggesting a downward trend this morning too!

I'm not too bad at lunchtimes... today I just had a salad sandwich on granary bread and a satsuma. Very different from the bacon roll or pasty with crisps and chocolate that I used to have
Its the evenings when I struggle! Have been letting myself have a funsize packet of maltesers after my dinner and it just about satisfies my evening munchies!

Hope you both have good weekends xxx

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 18:04

I've just had pasta and garlic mushrooms with the kids, am hoping that will keep me in check until I eat dinner (pork steak, slimming world chips, sweetcorn and naughty onion rings) with DH later. Just now I could kill for chocolate!

DH is out tomorrow night (somewhere I don't want him to go, nothing sinister, just some people who are "using" him, not friends, but he thinks that's fine), and it will go one of two ways...

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 18:05

sorry Mel, forgot to say well doneon the downward trend

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 20:25

dammit. I resisted white buttery toast twice today and was SO good. Aero bubbles ... etc

RGPargy · 17/10/2008 22:07

mel - that sounds like a yummy lunch actually!

Ria - Maybe DH just wants to feel part of the gang or something?? Obviously i dont know anything about the sitch so i could be talking out of my arse lol. Aero bubbles sound yummy. Hope you didn't eat tooooo many tho!

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 22:14

it was the etc that was the problem

apparently DH is going with the oldies people his own age so he might not be out all bloody night. if he has a crap time I will be ready with the "I told you so" he is far more sociable than me and is missing work a hell of a lot, for the company as well as the job. They've only asked him so he'll drive though, and then they won't have to shell out for a taxi

no matter, I have a birthday card to make tomorrow.

RGPargy · 17/10/2008 22:22

ooooooo "etc" is always the worst thing to eat!!

It's sneaky that they've asked him along so that he'll drive. Does he not drink?

I know what he means re missing socialising. I'm starting to get the going out itch back but there are two things that are stopping me, (a) i dont want to leave DD and (b) i wont have a good a time fat as i would thin because i'll be thinking "christ, i really am the fattest person here" and wondering what everyone is secretly thinking of me.

RiallyEeRiaee · 17/10/2008 22:26

i don't like going out at all, I don't know if it's just cos I'm fat or because I won't leave the DCs with anyone but my DPs and I don't like to impose, or if I really just don't like the whole social/people thing.

DH does drink, but won't go near it when he's driving, so I suppose he's a save bet as a driver rather than them asking someone else who might be tempted. I don't know, I don't understand how his mind works sometimes! Men!
