morning everyone!

Well, by some miracle, i have got down to just below 18st for the first time in God knows how long!! I weighed myself this morning and i've 17st 13 3/4lbs! Hoorah!!!!!! I'm wondering if it's because i've been drinking quite a bit more fluid since Saturday. i'm guilty of normally drinking hardly anything all day and since Saturday i've been getting up at least once in teh night for the loo so something must be happening!

I'm hoping it's a downhill struggle from now on and i really hope that by my weigh day on Monday my scales will still say the same!

PinkChick · 25/09/2008 10:17

Ooooooooh fantastic chick!!!..well done, i should drink more water as everyone always says its fab for you, youve just gone to prove it 8-)..bet that felt fab seeing that marker go down

RGPargy · 25/09/2008 10:40

yeah it was great!! The scales have been moving down daily and i'm convinced it's because of all the fluids i'm drinking - and it's not water at all! i'm drinking mainly tea at the moment until i go shopping and then i'll be drinking a bit of squash i think!

PinkChick · 25/09/2008 10:43

wow, just normal tea or green/herbal!..thats really good!...

OP posts:
RGPargy · 25/09/2008 15:49

lol Just normal tea, pink but with no sugar. I have 2 sugars in my coffee so it's just as well i'm not drinking gallons of that!

bran · 26/09/2008 22:09

Congratulations on the milestone RGP. Hi everyone else.

I haven't lost much for a while now. But I think I may have been increasing muscle quite a lot as despite only losing about a kilo in a month suddenly lots of people are commenting on how much thinner I look. My waist is smaller and my boobs, surprisingly, are bigger. I think the change is mostly to do with all the weights increasing in my workout, it's really making my body work harder. I asked my trainer about the boobs as I though that they would just continue to get smaller and he said that as the muscles underneath get stronger they will bulk up a bit and increase the cupsize (hurrah).

RGPargy · 26/09/2008 22:29

Well done Bran! Isn't it great when people start noticing your weight loss!

IamRiallyindisguise · 26/09/2008 22:36

well done bran, good to see results of your hard work.

but shit - I think I'll give exercise a miss if that's what it does

buggered my week up again. No routine that's my problem (though haven't sloped off to the supermarket for a full english!) But I am not beating myself up about it and am not on a binge,so have moved on a bit... and the sewing is brilliant for anti-snacking!

PinkChick · 26/09/2008 22:40

Hi Girls!

Well i may get a minute to pop on tomorrow before we go as im chomping to get weighed to see if ive gone down and ounce

Sewing is great isn't it Ria, it occupies your hands wonderfully. What do you sew? I used to be really into quilt making before DS came along. I should start it up again now that I'm a SAHM of a school age child and have hours of time on my hands.

Are you already bustier than you want to be? I'm very apple shaped so have a big tummy, average boobs and teeny-tiny hips. When I started dieting I was a large-ish 42D, then I lost quite a bit of cupsize but didn't bother downsizing bras until I was confident I was a 40. I bought a whole new collection of 40D bras but since then I've gone up to a DD so I'm spilling out the top of them. I think they also look bigger because my waist is a bit smaller, so the size ratio has improved. DH is happy. They're still quite a bit softer than they were though.

IamRiallyindisguise · 26/09/2008 22:54

I am a H/J cup I think (am in PJs now so can't check label like I usually have to do in bra shop, was too big for mothercare nursing bras). To me DD is teeny tiny I have massive hips too. More than a handful as DH would say. I am cross stitching xmas gifts (I hope it works out the way I see it in my mind. The other night I only had 2 small glasses of wine all night because I was so busy, and a small snack after I'd finished. It's a big project for me and could take weeks, so should help)

Have a great week pink and hope you've got your goal.

RGPargy · 26/09/2008 23:11

I'm the same with a routine (or lack of it) Ria. Good job for not being on a binge week tho! I used to do knitting and tapestry and it was great for not eating!

Pink - oooo try and get back on here before you go! We want to know if you made it to your goal! if you dont get a chance, have a fantabulous holiday! xx

Dont talk to me about bras! i used to be a 36c in my slim days. These days i'm around a 40D - well i say that, but those are the bras i'm fitting into that are in my wardrobe lol. I really should get measured again soon!

Off to bed soon, n'night girls xx

bran · 27/09/2008 11:21

Are you quite hour-glass shape then Ria? of you if you are. I am shaped like a barrel. My hips used to be one inch smaller than my waist, and now, although everything has become smaller the proportion is slightly worse and my hips are 2.5 inches smaller than my waist. I don't own a single pair of trousers or jeans that I need to undo the button and zip to put them on. It also means that if I loose even a small amount from my waist then things literally fall off me because it's only tension around the tummy holding them up, there's no support from the hips.

I currently estimate that by traditional measurements I am a size 18 around the bust, a size 20 around the waist and a 12-14 around the hips. I have to shop very carefully and tend to wear trousers in size 16-18 that either have a lot of stretch or have a generous waist.

PinkChick · 27/09/2008 13:07

hi..very qickly..no...14st 1 1/2lbs ..but i only planned to lose 2stone in the 16 weeks and ive lost 2st 9 1/2 so am ok with that..bye everyone, see you in just over a week!.xxxx

well done pink, the long term achievement is the important one (I know you've gone but we're not that chatty on here that you won't see this) Have a great time!

I am pretty barrelesque atm bran, but I wasn't fat I would be hourglassy I suppose (I think my trinny & suze shape was cello) I hve to confes Dsis is looking good and she has given me a cardi I thought looked awful on her (too tight I thought sz 28) ut is nice and baggy on me. She seems to be doing 40mins + on her magic exercise machine 4+ times a week and I think she's still taking the tabs though she was talking about not. we are a very different shape though (weight aside)

am really hoping for a better week routine wise (and wish DH would get a job so I can increase our food budget slightly). And more sewing of course, but not tonight!

RGPargy · 27/09/2008 22:59

Well done Pink, you've done so well! Have a great holiday!

i think i'm hour glass shaped, which can be an absolute pain! My waist is very small in comparison to my hips and also i have very chunky thighs, which means that i have to buy trousers in the next size up just so that they fit my legs!! The waist will undoubtedly need pinning with a safety pin or belting in to get a nice fit. I wish they made different sized trousers in relation to teh different sizes of people's actual figures! They should do stuff like "hour glass cut" or "round cut" etc etc.

IamRiallyindisguise · 28/09/2008 21:56

so, back to it again tomorrow. freezer emptying week so it'll be interesting!

good luck with the weigh-ins

RGPargy · 28/09/2008 23:15

Good luck for next week Ria! I'm going to be keeping everything crossed for tomorrow's weigh in. I just hope i'm still in the 17 bracket, rather than the 18 bracket.

I've been (on average) dropping about half a pound a day since i started drinking loads and on Saturday morning i was 17.12, but then i had two large glasses of wine and this morning i was 17.13. Tonight i've had another large glass of wine and two half-sugar breezers. I hope that doesn't mean that tomorrow i'll be back to 18.0!! I'm going to drink loads of fluid between now and bed time in the hope that it'll flush some/all of the alcohol out again lol.

IamRiallyindisguise · 29/09/2008 09:41

good luck RG

looks like a SW week here. (have lent RC to DM as she can't get her funeral trousers on!)

just making potato cubes, egg and beans for brekkie.

SummatAnNowt · 29/09/2008 10:59

Hospital today for appointment about gallbladder. Dreading it because I know the weight issue is going to come into it... and there's no defence is there because fat people are just lazy fuckers who eat too much and are a drain on the NHS and deserve to be treated like lepers and mocked in the street.

But you know, being lectured and treated like this will of course make me lose weight rather than retreat into a giant bag of crisps and a cream bun...

Sad today.

IamRiallyindisguise · 29/09/2008 12:25

S&A, hope you get a better reception than that.

RGPargy · 29/09/2008 14:27

Afternoon ladies

Went to WW this morning and i've officially lost 4lb! I'm pretty chuffed with that, and that means i weighed 18st on the nose. if i carry on the way i have been, i'll hopefully "officially" hit the 17st barrier next week.

Ria - that breakfast sounded yummy!!

Summat - I know what you mean, and i hope your reception was much better than that!

Hope Pink's enjoying her holiday!

justRia · 29/09/2008 14:31

well done RG. I weighed in and have lost nothing again.

But I'm feeling good cos I've just done 20mins of RC salsacise DVD. (and had a shower and blow-dried my hair) I will have walked the school run twice today too - small goals!

SummatAnNowt · 29/09/2008 18:00

Well done RGP!!

The appointment went fine, I've just internalised so much crap about weight it all came flooding to the surface.

I made decision to wait 3 months before going on list (which is about 3 months wait) so I could lose more weight as it reduces the chance keyhole might turn into more major surgery. He was a very nice guy. Plus it gives me a nice incentive for 3 months as I've been flagging a bit since summer ended!

Bought Tae-bo dvd for variety! LOL! I used to do it years ago and loved it!

RGPargy · 29/09/2008 19:33

Thanx girls!

Ria - well done on the Salsacise and school runs (and the showering and blow drying!). Small goals do make all the difference, i find. When i'm back to work on Wednesday i'm going to continue to walk up as many flights of stairs as i can rather than use the lift. obviously i'll not be walking up from ground to 11th floor () but at least when i'm at my desk i'll be walking up a floor or two at a time so that might help.

Summat - What a great goal for you too! Three months is quite a bit of time, but not too much time that you get complacent and think you have loads of time to lose weight. Good luck!!
