It does make sense Ria. I think the bigger loss at the beginning is just meant to give you a boost as an incentive to keep going. It IS a small amount of calories, so deffo not meant for the long run. I dont think i could survive on that few calories for more than a day, personally! You are probably best off dieting in a way that you know you can stick to, rather than feeling like you are deprived of food!

jaz236 · 20/09/2008 21:16

omg cos i thought u were just going in for information!!

RGPargy · 20/09/2008 21:25

I was going for info as well as getting the tablets too. I thought i could just get the pills and then if i wanted to take them, i could, rather than having to go back for another appointment later.

RGPargy · 21/09/2008 19:47

Where is everyone this weekend?? How dare you go off and have real lives!!!!

PinkChick · 21/09/2008 20:19

Hiya Chick

ill around for 5..just made my own lovely chicken permeseans with loads of salad and few oven chips..was gorge!..ate, or rather have felt i have ate quite a lot today but none of it has been bad!? so ..6 days to countdown, need 4 lbs off by next sat!

Have you started taking the tabs yet chick?

OP posts:
RGPargy · 21/09/2008 20:31

Hiya luv

Sounds like a yummy dinner!! Good luck for next sat's weigh in!

Yeah i started taking them yesterday. Felt a little fuzzy with them yesterday but today i've felt absolutely fine. I've still eaten the same (more or less) as what i would normally, but having said that, i think it's just out of habit as i've not been particularly hungry. I had dinner tonight and DP dished up an enormous plateful. I managed to eat it all but i'm still absolutely stuffed from it!

i'm hoping that they have a slight build up in the system so that i wont want to eat as much food from now on. i really need to sort myself out!!

PinkChick · 21/09/2008 20:43

when i first started taking them i literally (in my head) asked myself while eating..am i full?..do i feel full?..do i want/need anymore?..even now i frequently throw away half my food as i do this still and think no, i dont want/need/have more room for this!..think thats the way it works, it makes you listen to yourself..it was so hard when im used to overeating so mucha nd for so many years to do this, but it does work, so stick with it chick.x

OP posts:
RGPargy · 21/09/2008 20:50

Funny you should say that Chick, that's what i was thinking tonight when i was (over)eating my dinner! I knew i was full but didn't want to leave it. If i'd have been eating on my own, i probably would have left half of it. I think i will do things differently tomoz.

IamRiallyindisguise · 21/09/2008 21:13

I've been lurking but didn't want to prove myself a saddo posting to myself

My goal for the next five days-

DO NOT eat cheese, ham, tomato & onion toasties (I don't even like cheese fgs)

DO walk to school at least once a day (shouldn't be that difficult as DH has to be at work for 7am)
DO do extra activity where possible.
DO eat a sensible breakfast of small bowl of special K, small banana and 1 slice multigrain toast.

DO NOT have full fat milk, have semi-skimmed instead and eat 1 yogurt a day.

DO have evening treats, but decide on these depending on the days meals (2 glasses of wine or 1 glass of wine and additional treat)

DO NOT beat myself up/go on a binge if I fail.

DO make a start on my anti-snacking xmas embroideries.

Do snack on fruit mid morning and mid afternoon, and fill up with veg at mealtimes.

I think that's enough to be going on with. My weekend goals will be a bit different. I think they should be achievable and not too unrealistic.

Pink, have you found problems with sleep/weird or nasty dreams with your tabs? Dsis is not sleeping and having dreams (these are side effects I get on "non-failed" ADs! and she keeps going on about them being failed ADs)

PinkChick · 22/09/2008 08:18

Morning Ria..good goals and esp like the not beating yourself up if you dont stick to things rigidly..hope you have a good day..you too RG..i KNOW how hard it is to leave food on your plate!

And Ria, no i didnt have probs with weird dreams or anything TBH, just dry mouth and hotter, but those have gone mostly!?

Still here, house full of guests, baby who won't be put down, an overactive toddler and so much to do, will catch up properly when I have time.

IamRiallyindisguise · 22/09/2008 20:50

Hi, not a bad day here. DHs "6 week" contract lasted 2 hours so that scuppered my extra exercise plans, but food-wise ok. Still have to cook our meal tonight which I will do in a minute. Might not get started on the embroidering though as have shocking headache, but don't feel like snacking either so that doesn't matter. Tea and bed I think.

RGPargy · 22/09/2008 21:55

Hi everyone

Got weighed today at WW and i've put on half a pound lol. not really bothered as i've had quite a beer heavy week, i.e. two days in a row DP and i have gone to the pub and i've had two pints of kronie! Oopsie! Thing is, beer is notorious for making me retain water so that's probably all it is.

Ria - those tips are really handy - thanx for posting them!

Pink - yeah it's soooo hard to leave food!! I've been great all day and tonight i'd made a home made lasagne and had a portion of that with a couple of roast potatoes. As i was eating i suddenly got full, but instead of stopping, i thought i'd have a couple more mouthfuls and then hopefully i'd be stuffed. I wasn't. I've not been feeling the need to pick all day tho, i do have to say, so hopefully the pills are doing something! I did have a weird dream last night tho, it was very odd. Too complex to write here tho lol.

Five - blimey, sounds like you have really got your hands full!! hope you manage to get some time out really soon.

Ria (part 2) - It lasted 2 hours??!! how come?!! Did he walk out or did they get rid of him?! What a pain! Hope your headache clears up.

IamRiallyindisguise · 23/09/2008 08:55

feel really fluey today. of your beer stories RG. never mind about the gain because as you say you know what it is.

DH had been promised 2 days off during the contract by the agency (for unreaarrangeable appts, hospital and a course) bu t the agency didn't bother telling the placemect, who refused to honour it. so they are now chefless for 6 weeks for the sake of two days. nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face

RGPargy · 23/09/2008 22:41

What gits Ria!!

RGPargy · 24/09/2008 09:49

Morning everyone!

Well, i have decided to stop taking the Reductil tablets because they are giving me some side effects that i'm not happy with, i.e. feeling really detached, jittery and a little tight chested. I haven't taken any since Monday and i'm still not feeling 100% myself again. Best to knock them on the head i reckon, especially with DD around. I need to be clear headed for her!

How's everyone else this morning?? All well i hope!

SummatAnNowt · 24/09/2008 11:03

I had a cold last week and I have an exam in a couple of weeks (stress snacking!) and the elliptical broke so we're waiting on a spare part.

All in all I'm just aiming to maintain till exam stress is over! No need to get into a cycle of beating myself up over not losing!

PinkChick · 24/09/2008 13:48

Hi everyone..how you feeling Ria???..
RG, unusual side effects there??? but everyone is different i guess, none of those were even mentioned to me? but you know yourself so if you think its them then you're doing the right thing..they dont give people them with blood pressure probs as im guessing they may increase it slightly?..maybe this is what it is with the jittery feelings?

anyway hope you feel better soon!

for last 3 days ive had cereal for 2 meals and jacket spuds with cheese & Beans/ prawns and salad for other..am watching scales each day and its crept slowely down to 14st 2 1/4 this morning..i SO want to be 14st on the nose for saturday!..dp managed it last week..so bit of comp going on now...well, got a stinky nappy here, off to sort out, see you all later!

PinkChick · 24/09/2008 19:52
