Hi Five..sorry you having bad day..ive got cramps too but not totm!???

DD's swimming went great..she really loved it and seems very confident and pleased with herself that she did something without us

there were children older who could swim without help/armbands, children like dd who could swim but with armbasnds and children who had never swam !, so was nice lesson easing them into it and i think it gave dd confidence as she may have been thinking oh this si easy...ive felt really ill all day worrying about her tho

thanks for thinking of us

Pink - yes, how did the tabs make you feel

Five - Sorry you're having bad PMT. I sympathise with the tiredness - DD is teething again and had me up half the night last night!

Riaonabroomstick · 17/09/2008 21:23

glad your dd enjoyed swimming.

ds2 had his 1st ever school dinner today as granparents were invited for lunch. He ate the lot and loved it. Bless.

RGPargy · 17/09/2008 21:32

awww bless him! What did he have?

Riaonabroomstick · 17/09/2008 21:39

it was roast chicken and roast potatoes, carrots brocolli, wholemeal bread and yogurt. granny and grandad had that too. He is too tiny to carry his tray and stuff. I'm just glad I wasn't working today or I would have cried

he was going to have school dinners next week but as he was going to sleep he said he would stick to packed lunches incase he didnt like it.

my mum thinks I should go and get something from the GP. I just worry about being laughed out of the surgery.

PinkChick · 18/09/2008 13:33

Hiya chick, sorry wasnt on long alst night!

tabs..when i first started taking them i felt full STRAIGHT away..withing 30 mins!..i had my head in right frame of mind as well so i didnt touch snacks or choc for 12 weeks although as we were having ktichen completely ripped out i was still eating fast food (pizza hut parmo's) for tea etc, so wasnt an angel!
The tabs have had NO effect on me or my ability to do normal everyday things at all!..the only side effects i had is dry mouth (whihc i no longer have) and i get hotter than i used to ( so i sweat more, but changed deo as was fine)..and thats it!

you know when we 'bigger' girls say oh i wish i could take a tablet and make it all go away..well ive found my tablet!..no its not easy, i still have to watch what i eat, esp now as the first lot came off quickly, now my body has got used to eating less i need to step it up again as well as do more excersze but that goes without saying when your losing/lost a big amount of weight.

but i have been beaming today (sexist police may come and cuff if they so wish!) as bumped into my builder who i havent seen in about a month and he said good god youve lost some weight, you'll be falling thorugh cracks in pavement if your not careful!..and then just before i got in two youngish lads fitting windows, i smiled as i passed and 'out of interest'..turned back and both were looking and as id caught them looking one said its ok darling we#re just admiring the veiw!!!!!LOL..never in MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ria, they wont laugh at you!..can you go and see nurse instead??, ours are keen to palm things off like this onto nurses and mine at least seem to have a bit more time to chat

OP posts:
Riaonabroomstick · 18/09/2008 13:41

for you pink. That must feel SO good. You beam all you want to.

My dsis sees a nurse at her surgery but I don't think ours do that. My GP is probably more overweight than I am so I get a feeling she won't be that sympathetic. Anyway I think my head is right for giving Rosemary Conley another go (and I have that fecking awful slimthru to finish first. yuk.) I am crossing everything that stuff is going to fall into place in our life soon and then I can get on with it (DH should know in another 2 weeks if he needs another shoulder op or if he can find a job etc). I am sick of the stress at the minute and I know I shouldn't, but having some nice crisps and a couple of glasses of wine on a night is what we have to look forward to.
sorry, having a bad day.

PinkChick · 18/09/2008 13:51

aw Ria you sound like you have a lot to deal with at minute..dont beat yourself up about lsoing weight, if you put more pressure on yourself whilst you are so obv having a stressful time you will get yourself down!..instead of thinking "i wont have that bag of crisps and bottle of wine"..think..ok, today i will have cereal for brekky, x for lunch then y for dinner (do your best to pick healthilly but nice) and then say, so because i ate well today i WILL have that glass of wine/bag of crisps...still treat yourself, but just try to make your meals a little healthier..even just add salad and drink water with it too fill you up..then when you have less going on, you will be half way there

Riaonabroomstick · 18/09/2008 14:04

thanks pink. That's kind of my strategy atm, but it doesn't always work. I'll get there one day, it just might not be this side of christmas!

PinkChick · 18/09/2008 14:16

..well dont say it has to be christmas then!, if you put too much pressure on yourself, or in my case what I do it then DEFY myself!..and go totally the wrong way!..give yourelf a break and see how it goes

wht did u think of slimthru ria

IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 17:57

I took it for a couple of days (my mum bought it for me) and then had an iffy tummy so didn't take it any more. I thought it was ok though, but I didn't like the taste. I tried it on cereal and mixed in my tuna (the cat licked the tuna bowl out too, but he lived). I decided it was easier just to drink it. I think it helped though.

RGPargy · 18/09/2008 19:51

hi everyone

Ria - i agree with pink. you have alot on your plate atm so dont beat yourself up too much chick.

Pink - woohoo! Well done for getting admiring glances! How fab!

What's slimthru??

Got the doctor's tomorrow. Hopefully i wont miss this one haha! I'll talk it through with him and see what he says.

I've just had my dinner of 2 fishcakes, 225g of cooked pasta, tablespoon of grated cheese and 3 tablespoons of pasta sauce. Have to say that it looked like an ordinary portion for an ordinary person, but i'm bloody starving still!! Funnily enough tho, i only ate a snackpot couscous and 3 ryvitas for lunch and wasn't hungry after!

IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 22:28

thanks guys.

Do you think your lunch had more slow relese carbs/lower GI than your dinner RG? When I did Rosemanry COnley GI last time I didn't feel hungry between meals, it was just the treats/stress eating that took over. So there might be some sense in it? I can't remember what diet you were doing.

Slimthru is white gunk in little pots like UHT milk at cafes. It costs a massive amount of money normally but it was on offer in boots in Kendal when I was with my mum at £3 for the big pack - is it about 12 days worth? (I think it's usually nearly £20/£30?) It is a "natural" appetite suppresant (sp?) type thing, increasing satiety?

Apparently DSS lost 8lb in the last week while he was staying with us! (I didn't). Hope I didn't starve the poor boy.

IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 22:29

though I would think at least 2lb of it was the ferret on his chin

IamRiallyindiguise · 18/09/2008 22:30

sorry, I changed my name in case he was spying on me, so I could talk rant about someting on another thread

jaz236 · 19/09/2008 08:53

slim thru are these tiny milk type cartons that u drink 3 times a day -its to help u not eat as much as u normaly do!

RGPargy · 19/09/2008 13:38

Got the tablets today. will start taking them tomorrow and see what happens!

PinkChick · 19/09/2008 13:48

ooh good, what did they say then?

I'll be around if you ned anyhting chick, here or FB

I just went in there and told him that i was thinking about trying Reductil. he asked why and i said that i'm aware of how bad my weight has gone and that i have joined WW but i seem to be stuck at a point where i cant lose anymore.

So he took my weight, height and BP and said that i was a good candidate for it and that i would be monitored monthly by him. So i've got to come back in a month to see how i'm doing.

jaz236 · 19/09/2008 18:21

omg

RGPargy · 19/09/2008 19:46

Why omg, Jaz?

IamRiallyindisguise · 20/09/2008 11:22

your GP visit sounded pretty straightforward RG. good luck.

I would like a bit of advice/opinions this morning. DH has just got a 6 week temping contract so I should be able to introduce a bit of routine to my day, so I thought I 0GI jeans diet you are meant to do 2 weeks "kick start" to begin with. I know this sounds like a cop out, but it works out at around 1050 calories. Bearing in mind a rough guesstimate of my weight do you think this is too few calories to be sensible? and presumably if I go straight for the proper diet I'll still lose weight, just slower, rather than a biggish loss at the start?

hope that all makes sense?
