ooh and without sounding like a patronising cow..some of my bigger clothes i have here are in very good cond/new..dont really want to mess about with ebay, so if anybody would like to have a look, i will send them just for P&P as i know how expensive it is getting things to wear when losing some mostly 20 and 22's.x

Hi all. I'm staying with my parents this week so I'm only on MN occasionally but thanks for the welcome.

Ags, we are hopefully going to panel next week to be approved, so keep your fingers crossed. I'm considering a double layer of magic knickers or perhaps a Victorian style corset so that I look slender for the panel.

ChirpyGirl, I reckon you should dance with your dds. Put on 4 or 5 disco songs and bop as though you were on a girls' night out until you are breathless and red in the face. Then do a few rounds of The Grand Old Duke of York with your youngest with the actions (ie you lift her as high as you can for up the hill etc). While you are waiting for the kettle to boil do press-ups against the kitchen counter. You could also skip if you have enough space/ceiling height.

It will be interesting to see how much I weigh when I get home tomorrow. My parents have quite a different diet to what I would normally have at home and I usually find that I consume more calories but feel hungrier when I stay with them. I have a big appetite and so always fill up with plenty of green veg and salad and I don't like rich or creamy sauces, whereas my parents have smaller appetites and eat a small volume of very rich food (pate, mayonaise and creamy sauces always feature heavily and I would never have them at home). It's only a week though, so I'm not letting myself get too fussed about it.

It's freezing and pouring with rain here so I had to buy myself a coat in TK Maxx. The one I fancied was XL on the hanger so I tried it on, it was a teeny bit tight on the tummy but otherwise a good fit so I decided to buy it. After I had taken it off I checked the label and found that XL translated to a UK size 16, I was quietly thrilled as I haven't worn a 16 on my top half for over a decade. It's the little victories that make my day.

RG I worry about saggy skin too, my tummy is already very apron-like so I dread to think how bad it will be when I loose more. But I have decided that I will worry about that when I have lost the weight and until then will rely on the lovely elasticity of magic knickers as the elasticity of my skin obviously isn't up to the job. DH doesn't seem to mind and he's the only one who ever sees me nude so if he doesn't mind why should I get obsessive about it, he's always been more of a bum man anyway and mine is getting perter.

RGPargy · 11/08/2008 22:28

Bran - good luck with the panel next week. Will be thinking of you. Well done on the size 16 coat too! What an achievement! Glad i'm not the only one with the naff skin elasticity! Mine's always be rubbish and nothing i do, exercise or otherwise, will ever tone it up again. I suppose there's always the surgery route once i win the lottery, of course!

Ooooo forgot to mention! By some fluke i managed to lose 1/2 pound this week when i got weighed so yay me!

Just come back from a nice meal up the pub with DP. I had New York chicken which was basically chicken with bacon and sauce on the top, with melted cheese on top of that. The sauce was sickly (as it always is when you have that kind of thing) and it wasn't as nice as perhaps i had thought it would be. I had a Chocolate Monster Sundae for dessert which came out in this huuuuge bowl but thankfully i couldn't finish it all as it was far too sickly. It game me a real bad sugar headache too and i'm still feeling a bit heavy headed from it even now! Does anyone else get that after those sort of desserts? Cant say i get that feeling if i sit and eat a bar of chocolate or anything. Must be something in the restaurant desserts lol.

Hiall

at nurse this morn, am a bit as i seem to ahev struggled last week depite getting a lot of week before??..maybe it goes that way with me?, my body needs to level out so good loss one week, not so good week after???..dont really think i ate worse this week?, had takeaway as normal(we either have takeaway or go out and had same last week as i had this sat night!?)..anyway, not going to get weighe don mine this morn, will wait till app.

Well done on the 16 coat Bran..i went into tkmaxx yesterday looking for a light jacket, but ended up looking at the trespass ones as were off to centerparcs nov and managed to get a lovley baby pink one on in a 'large' dont know what that was and it WAS straining the zip..but by the time we go (end of nov) it would have been fine, so i hope its there in a few weeks after the hol when i can concentrate on warmer clothes!

have a fab day everyone.

Hi everyone, am back from nurse..am a bit to be honest, i dont want to sound ungrateful/like an arse, but ive lsot 5lb...thing is, id lost between 4-5 last week..so that means 0-1 this week?...how can that be poss??..i havent eaten lots of rubbish?..the ONLY thing i can think of is that its still TOTM??..even though i started taking my pill again sat morn(which always 'stops' it), it didnt and ive been lite since sunday???]...anyway, dp has just told me to get a grip, its still a lot wether it was in one week or two, so am still pleased.

nurse is on hol for my next app so has delayed it till third week, so have 3 weeks to shift some more.
Dp says to go for 2lb a week = 6lb by the time i go back, but i'd like it to be more..am going to (definatly) get my excersize vid out tonight and start doing that..am also going to reduce my cheese as i have had that quite often lately..anyone else got tips on foods that will help me lose quicker?, like SW speed foods??

Hello everyone, have been off line.

Pink Chick - try not to be too disappointed what your DH says make a huge amount of sense.

Had a bad weekend in a beer tent so being vrey good this week, have discovered the joy of crayfish tails and rocket in wholemeal pitta very easy to do and esceedingly low cal.

RGPargy · 12/08/2008 20:13

Being stuck in a beer tent sounds rather nice, Five!!!

Pink - you really shouldn't expect to lose 5lb every week. 5lb over two weeks is still a very very good loss!! Dont be too impatient to lose because we all know that the slower you lose, the more likely it is to stay off.

PinkChick · 12/08/2008 21:10

i know guys, its just that i was so surprised to have lost that much last week, i kinda expected to lose a good amount this week too!..but anyway, its still a lot so ma pleased really.x

You can't get too hung up on one individual weighing session though PC. It may have been a different set of scales last week, or you might have been dehydrated last week and well-hydrated this week. In fact any number of things can make a difference of several lbs, the important thing is that the general trend is downward. I find that I can have up to 3 lbs difference between the morning, just after being to the loo but before breakfast and coffee, and the afternoon of the same day, so I just look at averages.

I don't seem to have done too badly during my week at my parents. I'm less than a kg up (afternoon reading) on my lowest reading (morning) before I left, which is fine. I'll probably find when I weigh myself tomorrow morning that I'm actually the same weight as I was before the visit. [hope emoticon]

PinkChick · 13/08/2008 08:37

Morning all

Bran, yeah i know my scales show me less mid morning even AFTER brekky than first thing!??

dp just got on and in space of brekky went up 3lb!??

will use mine as guide and nurses as gospel

glad you ahd good week an mums

now i need to get another stone off before we go on hol on 28th sept, that gives me just over 6 weeks, so 2 lb a week would be just under, so am going to go for it salad, veg wise(still eat meals but eat more of these too), chose more wisely and hopefully move it to 3 lb a week, that would then be 1 st 4 lb..am not estimating to put a lot on while away as i dont like icecream and last year when we wen they made up lovely fresh salads at beach bar, so i think ill be eating those, if i want lunch, the night times will be more of a test as theres one place who does the most wonderful garlic mushrooms and i know i will be trying them again, plus the greek mac's (macdonalds) were delish!..so i will eat what i want but make sure i dont pig out!..will also stick to water through day (and prob night too as dont drink much at all)..anyway, off to start work shortly, have a lovely day everyone!.xx

Haven't been good this week but am hoping after period will have helped, and being at mums should be a good kickstart as she isn't one for constant grazing so doesn't have the nice thigns in the house!

Have a good week, speak to you all when I get back

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/08/2008 21:55

Hi all, had a bad day today, breakfast to do then 2 rooms to clean which DH did, while I tried to get through washing and ironing as we were running out of single sheets. DS bless him was very unsettled so managed washing and ironing in between bouts of feeding and colic, had to do the former as my order of new bedding didn't turn up. And then the ** (please add your own word here) phoned up and said that they weren't coming as the weather was not good, so lost the plot slightly with them (hoping she is not an MNer) and have agreed with DH that we need to take big deposits now.

And we are trying DS in a new routine so one of us does his feed and bed while the other does DD and then both of us forgot to do supper so ended up with fish fingers, chips and beans and 9.15.

Thank you for the rant. Will get back on track tomorrow.

PinkChick · 14/08/2008 09:24

I can't remember my actual start weight for this!

But I'd just like to say that I lost 3lb this week and for the first time in 3 years I am below 20 stone!!!!!!!!! I was on such a high for most of yesterday!!

Everyone seems to be doing really well!

I know I don't post much, but this thread really helps me

RGPargy · 14/08/2008 13:21

Five - Sounds like your average day is quite manic!! I dont know how you do it, i really dont. I take my hat off to you! I think after the day you had tho you are entitled to fishfingers and chips (yummy!!). Back on the wagon tomorrow. Oh and i truly sympathise with the colic issues. Been there, done that - TWICE!!

Pink - sorry you've been ill. Hope you're better now.

Summat - Well done for losing 3lb and for getting out of the 20 zone!! Brilliant job, keep it up!

ChirpyGirl · 14/08/2008 13:58

afternoon all! Well, got to my mums and I weighed 17st 2 in boots last week and weigh 16st 12 now on my mums scales, which are pretty accurate as my little bro is an athlete (that gene must have skipped me!) and knows his exact weight.
So 4lb!!! Okay, I was on last week and I weigh half a stone more than I thought I did but it's still not bad!
I am aiming for 16st as a start as that was pre DD1 weight (and it seems obtainable!)

And Nice one Pink Chick [applause]!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/08/2008 14:13

Congratulations summat - good going

And Chirpy girl

And RGpargy - the irony is that the weather is georgeous here today so boo sucks to them ( I know very childish). just off swimming and my weekly weigh in is tomorrow.
