@Onegramatatime yes watching traitors - so annoying to have to wait until Thursday! Def will check out the nhs app as I have been getting below average vo2 on my Apple Watch.

Thats very annoying @husbandcallsmepickle. sometimes my phones not good at picking up steps at home, if wearing a watch i think the trick is to swing your arms in a really over the top way!

Well done @Wishfulshrinker25

I scraped in at 10066 for yesterday probably will be around 11k today

10kstepsaday · 12/10/2026 20:20

13.3k for me today. Managed to get outside and walk for 40 mins. It was lush and autumnal!! I really do need to make sure I do that as often as possible, if not every day. I need to see it as more of a chore like if I had a pet dog 😂 so I don't just put it off on some days. Maybe I should actually get a dog 😅 although they don't always want to walk hey @Joolly2

I am also watching the Traitors! Love James Acaster and Maya on this series!

12408 today which sort of makes up for yesterday.
Apparently it's getting a wee bit warmer over the next few days. Has anyone put their heating on yet? We haven't here in Kent

Joolly2 · 12/10/2026 23:00

Evening all, my post from yesterday didn't post or disappeared 🫤
Steps yesterday 10,175, steps today 10,679.
@10kstepsaday so happy your mood is lifting. There is so much research about the power of nature on mood. Getting a dog is a good idea, however I wouldn't recommend an old beagle. 😀
@husbandcallsmepickle heating! My husband would faint if I suggested we put it on. No need for heating in October!!
@WorthySloth hope you are feeling a bit better now after your day of rest.
@Onegramatatime hope your charger turns up soon. I'm loving Traitors. I've watched every series. I've also watched the New Zealand, Australian, American and Irish ones. 🤭 think I may be a little obsessed. Had to give up on the Indian one sadly.
@TheMaidofOrleans you are doing great with the steps.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 13/10/2026 00:44

Sorry for the confusion, my watch seems to be working fine it's me that's the problem. I'm either sitting at my desk or driving around need to try harder at getting those steps in. Thanks for this thread @10kstepsaday it's keeping me trying. Today's steps were 4000 so going in the right direction. My little dog passed away a few weeks ago and I think I've just fallen out of habit of daily walking.

Onegramatatime · 13/10/2026 04:14

@10kstepsaday , sounds like you had a great walk. Sometimes the 'meh' lingers. That's okay. Beautiful walks like you had all help to get through it.

@Clearingaspace , the 'swinging arms in a really OTT way' had me laughing. I have been there, done that.

@Joolly2 , thank-you. Found charger late in the evening. I kept forgetting to take my phone with me anytime I had to take a step. So my real steps are more than what's been counted.

Celebrity Traitors: I have not watched the last couple of episodes, i am trying to build up a pile so i could binge watch it as a weekend treat. I found that watching one episode at a time, is very difficult. The suspense....

Yes, to heating. Cold is my achilles, the house tends to be quite cool (sometimes cooler than outside) by November it is warm like it's stored up the heat. So the heating is needed less. Then February we need heating again. Funny house. There is a forest behind us, i think it plays a part in the quirkiness of the house. Or it could just be me!

5188 steps today

Droopydroopingdropped · 13/10/2026 08:03

Morning all,
Yesterday's total was 8488
Felt very shivery, scratchy throat and horrifically achey legs. Was sure it was the start of flu.
Couldn't sleep last night because of the pain
Still achey today but not as bad and no shivers or flu symptoms today
Weather is awful 😖

10kstepsaday · 13/10/2026 10:01

Getting warmer again? This weather is so up and down ATM. Have thought about the heating a few times @husbandcallsmepickle but yes too early I think!!

@Joolly2 yes I can believe that. I have recently been going out without my headphones too and just listening to the birds etc. felt very strange at first but also nice to just to think and have the space in my brain!!
Noted about Beagles 🤣

I have not watch any of the other traitors apart from the first few episodes of the Irish one. Might try it again.

Ah well you are definitely in the right place @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain
When I am sat at the desk all day I try to break it up and do a couple of laps around the house every hour or so and go for a lunchtime walk. Sorry to hear about your dog 😥

Oh no hope you feel better @Droopydroopingdropped
I had that recently and the scratchy throat was so painful.
How are you feeling @WorthySloth?

I had to charge my watch this morning so I am playing catch up a bit with my steps. WFH today and planning a lunch time walk.

This thread gave me motivation last night so I set my alarm for earlier and got a walk in before work. I more prefer a evening walk find it helps me switch off and de stress from the day. However I did enjoy my morning walk the weather is fab, birds singing even if getting out of bed earlier was tough. Steps so far today 6637. Have a great day everyone for yous who have the lurgy I hope yous are feeling better.

Yayy!!! Love this update.

Onegramatatime · 13/10/2026 12:23

@Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain , great update.
I am envious 😁😆.

It's been a busy morning and I have walked loads. Just looked at my wrist to check my steps so far and put it here.. but no watch!
I forgot to wear my watch this morning! Typical. But the day i don't get to move the watch will definitely be on and counting steps, all the nine hundred of them giving me no room to pretend it could be more.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 13/10/2026 13:57

Thank you 😀 @Onegramatatime

Oh nooooo nightmare you didn't have your watch on all those steps still count though.

10kstepsaday · 13/10/2026 15:01

Well done @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain that's so awesome!!! A morning walk is great because then you are ahead for the rest of the day!

Oh no!! that's so annoying @Onegramatatime

Steps on watch 4090.

How was everyones day?

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 14/10/2026 00:19

Saying goodnight on 11000 steps

@10kstepsaday yes your right was good to get my walk done first thing. There's been more than one day when I've pushed my walk to late afternoon and then never got round to going. Well done on over 10k steps today.

@Onegramatatime all in all a busy but good day for me. Well done on a great step count today.

Joolly2 · 14/10/2026 00:23

Evening all, 10,578 steps today.
@Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagainso sorry to hear you've lost your little dog. Their lives are so short.
@10kstepsaday I've just discovered a free app called Merlin. It's great for identifying bird song. After a while you begin to identify birds without the app, so satisfying. Makes me feel like a female Attenborough 😁
@Onegramatatime we've all done it, it's so annoying.
@WorthySloth @Droopydroopingdropped hope you are both on the mend.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 14/10/2026 00:35

@Joolly2 second the Merlin app its so addictive 🤣 Thank you for your kind words there life's are so incredibly short, I miss him so very much. Since he passed away I've been keeping myself busy in the garden planting new plants in his favourite spots popped into the garden centre today and bought some daffodils and tulip bulbs and two climbing rose plants then when the Spring arrives my garden will be full of colours and hopefully bees and butterflies in his memory.

Awww... that's beautiful.
So sorry about your dog.

WorthySloth · 14/10/2026 06:36

9136 yesterday. Not bad for a work day with a not very active client.

I think 🤞 that I’m coming out the other side of my cold now. Hope so. I’m at work today 7-2 then I’m out to see the poet laureate this evening and don’t want to be sniffing and coughing through that 🤣🤣

husbandcallsmepickle · 14/10/2026 06:47

Morning all, I've heard about the Merlin app but now going to download it.
Managed 10806 steps yesterday.
My second craft evening is tonight - hope it's better than last week!
Have a good day everyone

Droopydroopingdropped · 14/10/2026 06:48

Yesterday's total 10,052
I am wondering if this leg pain is something to do with high blood sugar
I was doing low carb for a bit but fell off the wagon and really stuffing myself with crisps and chocolate amd now got excruciating pain in both legs...hmm will completely cut out sugar and see if legs improve

10kstepsaday · 14/10/2026 07:53

Ah yes I love the merlin app too! I downloaded after seeing the fantastic bird lady on Clarkson's farm!! I always forget about it but it is fascinating to see what pops up!!

@Droopydroopingdropped I would love to completely cut out sugar and have tried many times! Got lots of no sugar recipe books. I just can't seem to ever stick to it 😥 It would help my blood sugar, I definitely have issues with it, as well as shift the last stone of weight 🤣

I'm finishing the day at 8.1k and that will do!

Hope everyone's had a good Wednesday 😍

Another one in bed early tonight I've been so tired all day. Today's steps 8321

@10kstepsaday truth be told I was going to have a lazy day today then fate brought us a power cut so I moved off my lazy bum and done the housework whilst listening to a radio play, then went out for a walk in lovely Autumn weather. Opened a tin of Aldi chicken soup for dinner (you wouldn't know the difference from Heinz) Watched Australian ghosts this evening which I surprisingly enjoyed and now in bed. A good day overall. Hope you and everyone else has had a good day.
