@LinearTransformationsI walk to and from work, which is about a mile each way, plus I'm a TA so on my feet most of the day!

10kstepsaday · 03/10/2026 12:45

@LinearTransformations I really want a walking pad at some point!! Keep saying it and haven't got round to getting one yet but I think it will really help me especially in the winter. Steps definitely help with weight loss as part of your NEAT and I always feel better in myself when hitting around 10k!

Its usually broken up across the day for me with outside walks where possible - either before work (after school run) or at lunch, sometimes i drag the kids along for an evening walk! Or some days I am just marching round the house of doing a steps workout at 10pm to fit it in 😂

Long 3 hour walk here today so 18,097 steps and think my feet will hurt tomorrow as wore my flat trainers. Enjoyed it mind.
Will try and do similar tomorrow & Monday and then I work from WFH Tuesday- Thursday and usually struggle to do any steps but will try and get out at lunch, even round the block / after work.

Wishfulshrinker25 · 03/10/2026 22:57

Only just over the 10k mark again today-10269. Out for a day out tomorrow so hoping to get some more steps in then.

Joolly2 · 03/10/2026 23:36

Evening all, clocked up 10,628 steps today. Off to bed now before I fall asleep on the sofa.
Congratulations to everyone, lot of great totals.

Onegramatatime · 04/10/2026 05:58

Welcome @TheMaidofOrleans @Wishfulshrinker25. Hope you enjoy it here.

@10kstepsaday welldone on your steps and on championing everyone in the group.

@Clearingaspace I love sunsets too (& sunrise). We have been having some really beautiful and intriguing ones recently.

10754 steps today!!!

I did it! I got to 10k steps. I actually went out on a short walk and also got on a walking pad with the sole aim of getting to 10k steps. I have not had the mental space to do that for a really long while.

**I wrote this last night but fell asleep before I could finish & post.

WorthySloth · 04/10/2026 07:20

6682 yesterday but had 5 hours in the car and was shattered when I got home so I’ll take that. Working today so we’ll see who I get and how many steps I can manage.

Clearingaspace · 04/10/2026 09:28

Well done everyone 🤩🙌

19000 yesterday - i was out with friends for drinks and walked there and back. Annoyingly I actually fell asleep on the sofa @Joolly2 and woke up at 3:30 am, so well done avoiding that!

Well done on actively getting to the 10k @Onegramatatime . Funnily enough I also typed the step number out here last night, but must have fallen asleep mid message! Ooh yes people were all taking pics of the sunset by the train station mid commute the other evening, as it was a beautiful one.

Gah sorry for double post - bad wifi and I am hungover

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 04/10/2026 10:34

I would like to join you all please. Do you try to hit 10k steps a day every day and how do you all keep track of what steps you have done?

Onegramatatime · 04/10/2026 10:47

Welcome!!!! @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain . Please, do join us.

We aim to hit 10K steps everyday. It depends on what tech one has - you can keep count via a fitbit, phone, smartwatch, pedometer..etc depending on what the person has.

Some of us build up to 10K gradually, some of us are mostly always ahead of 10k steps.

Some of us hit 10k steps minimum everyday and some of us have some off days/weeks but we keep trying.

It's great for having accountability and keeping us on track to our goals. And the group is a great supportive place.

Hope this helps.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 04/10/2026 10:53

That was a big help @Onegramatatime appreciated. My issue is that say one day I will do a lot of steps and then nothing else for days. So I need to get into the habit of moving more consistently and stop having so many lazy days. Think I might have a watch that counts steps somewhere will have a look for it and dust it off.

You aren't alone in that, believe me. That's where being in this group and the accountability it brings can be helpful.

Welcome @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain
Echo what @Onegramatatimesaid 😃
Generally everyone is aiming for 10k but whatever your goal is for steps you are most welcome!
It definitely helps on the lazier days for me, pushing me to do more and be accountable!!

I’m at work with my not very mobile client. Sleeping in as well so won’t even have the walk home. Should get a walk in tomorrow at work 🤞🤞 otherwise my average will be woeful again 🤣🤣

Wishfulshrinker25 · 04/10/2026 20:17

I'm the same @Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain so really trying to be consistent this month.

On 12450 today :)

Clearingaspace · 04/10/2026 20:32

8009 today so far, so will probably be under 9000, but I am ok with that. I feel like 10k is my daily aim, but overall I mainly want to average 10k over the month and to get in at least 7000 on a low step day. I have been using two phones for a bit so my step count for part of this week is totally wrong annoyingly which might lower my averages.

Oh for the new steppers, a tip is that there are walking videos on YouTube if you want to match around your living room to hit 10k.

I hate driving and have a decent selection of supermarkets/shops nearby, so go every day for half my steps and a walk with dh usually gets 5000 or so. Thst would be approx 11,000, typically, with other pottering steps. The problem is I kind of feel I am wasting time a bit doing shopping every day,

husbandcallsmepickle · 04/10/2026 21:33

Evening all, I've managed 10109 today. Really warm here in Kent - how's the weather been where you are? It certainly makes walking outside far more pleasant.

DoubleBoubles · 04/10/2026 23:30

11,517 for me today

Joolly2 · 04/10/2026 23:36

Good evening everyone, Sundays are my difficult days so I'm really pleased I made it to 10,044. I had to walk to my pilates class and later took dog for an extra walk. Ungrateful mutt complained about every extra step and tried his hardest to take shortcuts. He didn't seem to appreciate his role in my success 😄.
@Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain you could make your total more achievable by challenging yourself to get 10,000 3/4/5 days a week at first. Once you achieve it, up the challenge. You'll soon be doing 10,000 most days.
@Clearingaspace your phone problems are so annoying. Hope you get it sorted soon.
@10kstepsaday have you managed to do any more to your mural?

Onegramatatime · 05/10/2026 04:54

9416 steps yesterday.
