Fell asleep before I could post
Tuesday - 5111 steps
Yesterday - 12573 steps

@10kstepsaday , you are smashing it. So lovely to read your delight at how well it's going.
@Clearingaspace , that's a great yearly average. I don't know if I can find a yearly average in my health app. I will have a look.
@Joolly2 , that's funny. I could see the while interplay between you and DDog so easily in my mind!

I have just woken up to find i fell asleep with my work laptop on top of me!

@LinearTransformations great steps and great determination. how long did it take you to get 10k on the walking pad? Did you do it all at once or broke it up through the day?
@husbandcallsmepickle , do you host a crafts evening every week? Do you host it at home or at a venue? It sounds interesting.

Let me get back to sleep. A really busy day ahead. Always gets busy at work this time of the year. September is when things ramp up, by November it's absolutely mad. Stays steadily mad through December to March. Then April a slight tailing off to less mad numbers though still busy.

@WorthySloth , a muddy walk?! Where are you? You must have had lots of rain there. I had to water all my plants two days ago. It's that dry here. Well done on your steps. Walking through mud is a workout.

Now back to sleep.

Craft evening was quiet and there were a few no-shows so hoping next week's one is busier. I'm already in bed with a total of 16887 steps today.
What are you doing in London @WorthySloth?

I’m taking a client for a home visit 😊 someone will collect him on Sunday.

for those asking I am in North Devon plus we were walking through an area that has had a lot of trees cut down etc so tractors and trailers have churned the ground up. Plus we do get quite a bit of liquid sunshine down here 🤣🤣

Wishfulshrinker25 · 08/10/2026 13:32

I forgot to post but did the same again yesterday, marching on the spot to get over the 10000k mark. Very impressed with some people's numbers! 👏

Couldn't find a step counter watch anywhere in the house even though I know we definitely have at least three. I've ordered a new one that should be arriving tomorrow so I can finally start counting. Obviously not sure how many steps I've done per day this week but I have been busy and done a fair bit of walking most days and visited Edinburgh for the day at the start of the week which my legs definitely felt 🤣

Aching legs after visiting Edinburgh for the day = Sounds like 10K plus steps!😁

Droopydroopingdropped · 08/10/2026 18:29

Hello
Can I join in pls?
Sounds like a very welcoming and warm group!
I have been inspired by the September 10K and been doing 10K plus every day in October
So far today on 13914
Average is 14,001
I have been eating too much but I reckon that as long as I keep active my blood sugar shouldn't rocket too much!

At least plus all the stairs so many stairs!

husbandcallsmepickle · 08/10/2026 21:30

Hello @Droopydroopingdroppedand everyone.

One of the restaurants in town asked me to host 2 Halloween crafting evenings, yesterday and next week. We're making spiders, spider webs, skeletons, bats and monsters! Lots of old-school cutting and sticking. I make all sorts of things and always looking for inspiration.

Today's steps were 10884.

10kstepsaday · 08/10/2026 21:48

Well done everyone!!
Welcome @Droopydroopingdropped 😁
14K is awesome!!

I am at 10.8k today! The weather has definitely dropped today, and I regrettes going out without my coat!!

Onegramatatime · 08/10/2026 21:59

@10kstepsaday , totally agree. I was freezing today (was also coatless).

9550 steps at the moment. Going to do laps round the sitting room and kitchen. I should get to 10K steps tonight before haring off to bed.

Welcome @Droopydroopingdropped !!!

Can imagine everyone sitting round the table cutting, gluing and sticking. With chats and laughter, sounds like a happy space.. therapeutic. Love it.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 08/10/2026 22:09

Welcome @Droopydroopingdropped I know what you mean about eating too much its snacking I'm really bad for.

@husbandcallsmepickle crafting evening sounds so much fun especially with a Halloween theme.

Joolly2 · 08/10/2026 22:29

Evening all, welcome @Droopydroopingdropped to our happy band of steppers.
11,027 steps for me today.
@10kstepsaday @Onegramatatime I felt really cold this morning. Went out to walk dog wearing jeans, long sleeved blouse, cardigan, scarf and winter jacket hat etc. Met someone I know slightly, they were in shorts and tee shirt! He looked me up and down said "bloody hell, what are you going to wear in Winter?" One of us was dressed inappropriately and I don't think it was me.

Droopydroopingdropped · 09/10/2026 07:55

Thank you all for such a warm welcome!
I did a few extra steps yesterday as I knew I wouldn't be able to get as many in today
Still aiming for 10,000 tho
I have to make a conscious effort to get up every hour to do some pacing about
Managed a 45 min outdoor walk yesterday as it was sunny but tipping it down today so will be doing my Lucy Wyndham-Read workouts in front of the telly.
I do have a walking pad but find it so narrow and noisy so prefer to do the work out.
Hula hooping also adds a lot of steps.
Happy Friday everyone!

WorthySloth · 09/10/2026 08:39

8065 yesterday. Not too bad for mostly on train and in the car 😊

Wishfulshrinker25 · 09/10/2026 12:04

I didn't make it yesterday - only got to about 5000 steps. I think you're all right about the weather, it's freezing!

@husbandcallsmepickle, the Halloween crafts sound great! 🎃

Welcome @Droopydroopingdropped

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 09/10/2026 14:03

My watch has arrived no idea how to use it but its on my wrist and I'm now a fully fledged daily step counter Grin

husbandcallsmepickle · 09/10/2026 14:55

@Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagainyou will be addicted!!

WorthySloth · 09/10/2026 15:12

Full of cold and really not wanting to do anything today. Will try and motivate myself to some steps later

Clearingaspace · 09/10/2026 20:32

Hello everyone and welcome @Droopydroopingdropped

13865 yesterday and currently 14118

The weather is mad, it still felt like summer at the beginning of the week, then winter the next day, and today was lovely and autumnal. Very hard to know what to wear, especially if you add hot flushes in!

Clearingaspace · 09/10/2026 20:35

Hope you feel better soon @WorthySloth

husbandcallsmepickle · 09/10/2026 21:08

I'm so glad you're all liking the sound of Halloween crafts. It really has helped after being let down on Wednesday.
Anyway, today's steps were 11278.

Droopydroopingdropped · 09/10/2026 21:17

Managed a total of 11,139 today
Night night x

Joolly2 · 09/10/2026 23:49

@WorthySloth sorry to here you are poorly. Don't worry too much about steps, concentrate on some self care. Wrap up warm and keep your fluids up. Hopefully it will be short lived.
@Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain I also have a watch that can do amazing things, just not for me. I have no idea how to do anything other than tell the time or count steps with it.
Just made it to 10,000, was a struggle today as a couple of unexpected things came my way.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Somewhereovertherainbowwewillmeetagain · 10/10/2026 11:14

@husbandcallsmepickle spot on its addictive marched up and down my hallway last night.

@Joolly2 I wanted a simple one that just told me the time and steps. Couldn't find any like that. So I bought a Apple dupe from Amazon for around £30 it's much too complex for me, dd showed me where to find the steps on the screen happy with that and the time don't need anything else.

Yesterday was a eye opener for sure finished the day at 1950 steps and that was me being mindful to move more. Onwards and upwards I hope!
