Starting a weight loss journey from 14 September

Finally reached complete fed upness with it.

I could list the many things I hate - essentially nothing fits and cellulite.

So I am going to start over the next couple of weeks. In fact I am going to start on 14 Sept as I need to set a date.

Next steps by 14 Sept - defrost freezer, make a healthy meal plan, food shop, batch cook, go swimming, join the gym.

Same. I have a few changes happening (think new job sort of thing) this week. And am seeing physio for an injury but led to believe I’ll be okay to start exercise in a couple of weeks.
so hopefully I will be joining you on the journey!! 🙏

Please do! I started a new job recently-ish.

The freezer defrosted itself as I accidentally unplugged it to put an air con fan on. A week ago. So that has cleared space for batch cooking.

I have just got to start somewhere and setting an intention, even if in rage and frustration, then just working through the steps without self judgment is the only way, plus writing it here because I cannot mislay my phone.

Next up is the meal plan. That is hard as I have been living on porridge, eggs, shit supermarket sandwiches, crisps and ping meals. So there is the challenge of making it easy and realistic, gradually introducing stuff so I don't go into shock, making sure I actually eat enough, remembering what good looks like. Needs to be a 12 week plan, with mostly repeats and some choices.

I think I need to also review the whole process for meal planning and write a cheat sheet for my google drive, as I have so many diff books / recipe sources, I don't know where to start everytime (thanks perimeno). I probably already made a cheat sheet and have forgot 😆

I'll join with you. Bought new scales today with an app that tracks progress etc. Batch cooked soup for next weeks lunches. The portions look scarily small! I go to the gym but must be consistent 3 times a week. Pretty good at doing 10k steps a day. Trying to stick to 1500 cals and 100g protein. Tracking food on MFP.
Are you going to weigh weekly? And take measurements?

Ace. Work went mad but I have next Friday off to meal plan. Sunday weigh in seems to be the thing. I'll probably jump on daily for self accountability. I think I will order one of those laminated weight star charts on Etsy too. Measurements are a good shout too. I'll do them at the weekend. 13st 1.2lb this morning just as a marker. Goal weight...9st 9 ideally but not too fixated. I have decent muscle mass under the fat.

Getting under 13 stone, then losing a stone is the first goal. I think getting to 11st7 will be pretty easy for me on a consistent calorie intake somewhere between 1650 - 1850 (I am 5.6), with steps, whatever cardio I can face and strength training. Getting down from 11st7 will get harder though, from past experience I hit a major plateau, so it may need a few months at 1500 which won't be fun. I think I might start at 1650 and then if need be have a period of maintenance at 1850 before dropping gradually to 1500 otherwise I can't see how I won't get diet fatigue.

What are your gym days?
