Hi I need to loose 1 stone, I mentally need that initial quick loss to keep motivated. I’m aiming for 3 pounds in 7 days starting 21/07/26.
i will do a protein shake for dinner, 1 for lunch and a healthy evening meal. Mostly veg with lean protein or fish. Low calorie snacks only. Would be great if anyone could join for accountability, I’m happy to post what I eat and when I eat as hoping that will embarrass me into not constantly snacking 😬

I am up for this OP!

I'll follow the same plan. Plus I use psyhillum husk powder which helps me feel full.

Will post what I eat too. Am feeling optimistic!

Watching with interest xx

letsdoitforaweek · 20/07/2026 09:26

Are you still keen to do this @Hedgepiggy ?

letsdoitforaweek · 21/07/2026 07:53

I'm going to go ahead with this starting today, @liquoriceallsortfamily are you in?

Hedgepiggy · 21/07/2026 09:16

Hi sorry yes I have started today, just realised my typo! Should day shake for breakfast, shake for lunch and healthy dinner plus low calorie snacks.
I’ve had my first cup of tea and about to have my first shake. I bought some coffee flavoured slimfast as had good reviews and might make breakfast more palatable. I usually have porridge oats or toast.

Good luck all! We can do this! 😊

I'm in too! I've lost a lot of weight (naturally) since last October - over 5 stone but have plateaued a bit. For me, I'm focusing on whole foods and no snacks!

ThinksALot · 21/07/2026 09:21

Breakfast:

170g 0% fage greek yoghurt
45g homemade granola
80g raspberries
50g strawberries

letsdoitforaweek · 21/07/2026 12:24

This is great!

I've got some whey protein powder in 3 flavours (all very nice) which I'll have for breakfast and lunch, plus salad (no dressing or anything) and a healthy dinner.

Also coffee and almond milk because I'd struggle without it.

Good luck all

mondaytosunday · 21/07/2026 12:40

I’ve just done it - actually lost 8lbs this first week but I know it’s mostly water weight. I didn’t do shakes but kept my calorie count to 1500 or below, mainly by not eating til noon and having two meals a day plus a sweet treat.
Yesterday I ate: bacon, egg, protein bagel, tea, tomatoes, avocado (664 calories)
dinner was Thai chicken noodle stir fry (574)
Snacks: grapefruit (105 calories)
Coffee with cream (60)
Tesco cosmic bar (100)
Total: 1503

ThinksALot · 21/07/2026 13:15

Just had lunch (am off work with the kids so a bit different from usual). I had

Toasted sourdough
Scrambled egg (made with 2 eggs plus additional egg whites)
Tomatoes and mushrooms

Cherries (they're so delicious right now)!

Hedgepiggy · 21/07/2026 13:34

Lunch: vanilla protein shake with semi skimmed milk, half a small red pepper (to not pick when making kids lunch) and I have a small nectarine planned for mid afternoon. Days are never tricky for me, it’s the evenings when it all goes to pot! Hopefully this will give me the motivation to stick with it. I have ordered some mini Cadbury chocolate bars that are 100 calories each. I’m hoping that if I get a craving I will have one of these instead of an after dinner ice cream!

For dinner I roasted a chicken and made a delicious chicken and feta salad, followed by a 10 calorie jelly for pudding. Now not to snack tonight...might go for a walk...

Hedgepiggy · 21/07/2026 20:20

Had a very small portion of chorizo pasta with a large salad. Have not felt hungry at all today, possibly because it’s been so hot I’ve been drinking lots of water. About to have a cup of tea and not constantly think about what I could be snacking on. There are so many times in the evenings I eat just because it’s there. I rarely actually feel hungry after dinner. Well done to all of us for completing day one!

Morning all! So my evening walk worked - no snacking for me! On to another day.

Breakfast:

180g fage 0% greek yoghurt
45g homemade granola
120g of raspberries and blackberries

letsdoitforaweek · 22/07/2026 09:12

How was the rest of your evening @Hedgepiggy ?

I had a lot of drinks yesterday too. Somehow got a stomach ache in the early evening so only had a sausage and some salad for dinner. Normally I'd be more hungry so today will be the true test.

Am 1lb down, though must just be water weight. I've only got 10lbs to lose overall so I'm expecting slow progress.

Good luck today everyone

ThinksALot · 22/07/2026 13:16

Lunch today was a homemade chicken ceaser salad with egg. Was yum - I used up the leftover roast chicken from yesterday. Successfully managed to avoid the leftover pizza from the kids.

How's everyone getting on?

letsdoitforaweek · 22/07/2026 14:13

Ooo roast chicken sounds so good! I'm doing fine so far, the dc are teenagers now so I asked them to make their own lunches today (so I'm not tempted to nibble).

I'm cooking dinner for a friend's family while I babysit their dd, for them to eat after I've gone home. So no expectation for me to eat it though I might be ravenous afterwards.

Am leaning heavily on plain salad vegetables. Good thing this is only for a week. I have a lemon meringue shower gel that smells great and promised myself to make one soon!

Hedgepiggy · 22/07/2026 15:13

My first evening went ok had a cup of tea then went upstairs to tidy up and had an early night so less distraction from the fridge!
so far today I’ve had a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, a chilli rice cracker with hummus and cucumber, a decent sized apple and a small nectarine.
Not 100% sure about dinner yet. My kids broke up from school today so something fairly easy as it’s still so hot. I wanted to weigh myself this morning but am resisting the urge as I’m sure there will be no difference yet 😆

@Hedgepiggy - well done on your snack free evening!

@letsdoitforaweek - that shower gel sounds divine!

I had cherries mid-afternoon and then home made spaghetti bolognese for dinner. Had it super early at 5pm as I'm now at the Drs for an injection and then I play a team sport on Wednesday night. Hoping I can avoid the snacks tonight once I'm back home!

letsdoitforaweek · 23/07/2026 10:02

How was your evening @ThinksALot ?

I'm doing realy well here, probably couldn't do it without taking a teaspoon of psyhillum husk once or twice a day, it's a fiber-type powder that reduces hunger. I've read that it doesn't work for everyone but it does seem to for me.

The protein powder I'm having at breakfast and lunch strangely doesn't do much to fill me up, considering it's about 26g of protein.

ThinksALot · 23/07/2026 10:39

Morning!

Was a successful evening - no snacking for me! But I did take quite a big fall when playing sport last night - I have a nice big bump on my hip!

Unfortunately, I didn't sleep well as I've got a cold, so today maybe harder as I always want to eat more when I'm tired.

My usual breakfast for me today!

Hope the psyhillium husk works for you today - I've not tried it!

letsdoitforaweek · 23/07/2026 15:38

Sorry to hear about your fall, and your cold/sleep - you're really up against it!

There's always challenges aren't there, and I'm just the same, eating more when stressed or tired. Or bored, or in a restaurant... there aren't many occasions when I don't if I'm honest!

Going well so far today, because I know it's not for long! Tummy is feeling a bit flatter.

Hedgepiggy · 23/07/2026 20:13

@ThinksALot sorry to hear about the fall! @letsdoitforaweekyears ago a friend of mine bought something called hoodia I think. Apparently Kenyan tribes eat it when hunting as it makes you feel full. She got it in Holland and Barrett it sounds similar to psyhillium husk.

I was at work today, I managed a shake for breakfast and lunch. A chilli rice cake with hummus and carrot sticks and a couple of Kabanos which I think are Polish? I got them in Aldi, they look like thin mini peperami. I treated myself to a skinny latte at work which was lovely. For dinner I had oven baked cod in breadcrumbs with a fresh salad (no dressing 😩) and a few potato wedges! I haven't felt hungry at all today. Hopefully tomorrow will be another day of good choices!

Sounds like a great day @Hedgepiggy !

I had a chicken ceaser salad for lunch followed by cherries snd then a chicken and veg stir fry for dinner followed by a 10 calorie jelly.

Managed to get the kids out for a walk this afternoon and then went to the gym this evening - ran 5k on the treadmill and did some weights. Overall, a much better day than I thought it would be.

Off to the cinema on Saturday, usually I'd eat a tonne of pick n mix. Wondering what else to take that will still feel like a treat - might do some popcorn and a freddo...

ThinksALot · 24/07/2026 13:48

Hi @Hedgepiggy and @letsdoitforaweek - how are you both getting on?

Another good day for me so far - my usual breakfast of 0% fat greek yoghurt, mixed berries and homemade granola. I just had scrambled egg on sourdough with tomatoes and mushrooms for lunch, followed by some cherries.

I'm feeling a bit hungrier today - probably coz of my run last night, so I may have a snack (fruit/yoghurt) later today.

I need to get a walk in as I've done barely any steps so far...
